Terms & Conditions
  • Can we please remind ALL members who attend the Social Rides that they are not to be used to ‘train’ your horse to cope with group riding, and that you have done sufficient training at home to feel confident that they will cope with a group ride and not become over excited or anxious. Although we do totally understand the unpredictable nature of horses!

Please remember that the Social Rides are for the enjoyment of everyone who joins them. Please be very aware that what might be acceptable behaviour to you, may cause implications and distress to others. Please consider how your (or your horses) actions may impact on others who have equally paid to attend the rides for enjoyment and companionship.

All those who attend must follow the Lead Rider/Organisers instructions. The committee receives feedback from the Lead Rider/Organiser after every Society Ride. You must attend with the right tack for your horse. If you have a horse which is either particularly forward going or a little sluggish, please be prepared to either wait for others to catch up or trot on to keep up with the main group, so that horses do not get overly anxious trying to keep up with one forward going horse, or for the bigger group to have to keep waiting for a much slower horse. If this is something you are aware of, please let us know in advance and we will try to arrange the groups accordingly.

Hard Hats MUST be worn that conform to the latest BRC Guidelines

    • Hiviz MUST be worn by both horse and rider as rides are on lanes and bridleways.

    • All rides have a dedicated group leader, whose word is final!

    • At all times, the groups will go at the speed of the slowest or least confident rider.

    • No one will be pressured to ride outside of their comfort zone.

    • No overtaking unless it is ok with the rider in front.

    • Do not trot or canter off without the lead rider’s permission.

    • The committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel your entry upon receipt of any report of a breach of the rules or dangerous behaviour by either horse or rider.

I agree to the FDRC Terms & Conditions as laid out on the first section of this form and/or schedule as to the running of this event. I agree to my details being used as laid out in the FDRC Privacy Statement which can be found at https://www.favershamridingclub.com/privacy-statement
