What is Legerete Classical Dressage and what does it mean and who is classical dressage actually for?  There are some incredibly inspirational classical riders who showcase the higher levels of what can be achieved through this kind of training — beautiful piaffe, passage, collection and incredibly skilled riding.  Although amazing to watch that little voice creeps in:   “I’ll never be able to ride like that, so classical training probably isn’t for me.”

WRONG! Classical training for balance is for every rider and every horse.

Classical training isn’t just about producing amazing piaffe on a beautiful Lusitano.

Classical training can apply to every type of horse from ex racehorses to Clydesdales and everything in between from young horses to older horses with arthritis and EVERY type of rider from beginners, riders who lack confidence etc to more advanced competitive riders.

Very few are training towards the high school movements. They’re training towards better balance, better communication, more confidence and bodies that can carry riders more comfortably.

THAT is what classical training is really about and it’s useful for every horse and every rider.  If you’re currently struggling with your horse please try classical training.
