Show Information

Show Jumping clinic on a full course of show jumps with instruction from Antoinette Mckeowen.

This is a chance to train using a full course and is open to riders of all abilities. Heights can be adjusted to suit everyone. Please state your preferred height in your entry. Groups of no more than 4 and riders will be grouped according to height.

About our instructor: 

Antoinette Mckeowen is a local BHS qualified instructor who has competed to the highest level in British Eventing, having completed no less that 13 runs at 5 star events with numerous top 20 finishes including 12th at Badminton. She was on the reserve list for the Athens Olympics in 2004.

Antoinette is the team trainer for the Royal Artillery, holds a Pony Club A Test, and is a ridden judge for the Race Horse to Riding Horse classes.

Antoinette is used to dealing with every type of horse, pony and rider (and their quirks!).

DUE TO THE CURRENT OUTBREAK OF EQUINE INFLUENZA ALL HORSES MUST HAVE UP-TO-DATE VACCINATIONS.  THERE MUST BE 7 CLEAR DAYS BETWEEN THE LAST VACCINATION AND ENTERING FRENCHES FARM.

ALL HORSES MUST BE ENTERED USING THE NAME ON THEIR PASSPORT.

 

PLEASE SEND PHOTOS OF PASSPORT WITH NAME PAGE, 3 PRIMARY VACS AND EVERY VACCINATION TO DATE TO events@bvrc.co.uk.

Follow Green Drove into Little London.  Turn left at the bottom of the hill after the Little London sign and follow through to farm.

  • If you are a BVRC member please click 'Apply members rates' and put your membership number in the Clinic Notes. Please also put the height you wish to jump in centimetres.
  • If you are a Frenches Farm Livery please click 'Apply members rates' and put 'Livery' in the Clinic Notes - we will be checking livery names with Frenches Farm management.  Please also put the height you wish to jump in centimetres.
  • If you a non member and a not a Frenches Farm Livery please just put the height you wish to jump in centimetres in the Clinic Notes.

Withdrawals/Refunds

  WITHDRAWALS:

REFUNDS

Refund of entry fees, less the booking fee and a small admin charge of £5 to cover non-recoverable costs, will be made up to 28 days after the event, in the following circumstances:

  • Prior to the closing date for entries
  • After the closing date for entries on production of doctor's or vet's certificate
  • Cancellation of event

Transfer of entries may only be requested prior to closing date for entries. 

Terms & Conditions

Health & Safety Policy The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health & safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and shall obey the instructions of the organiser, and all officials & stewards.

Competition Notes:
For the avoidance of doubt, participants shall understand that the rules and conditions of entry (listed below) are the sole terms under which the Bourne Valley Riding Club (BVRC) organises events. Participants shall not enter BVRC events unless they have read, understood and fully accepted these terms.

BVRC General Rules & Conditions of Entry

  1. All classes will be run in accordance with current Official Rules for British Riding Clubs' Competitions. British Riding Clubs Handbook | The British Horse Society  Dress and tack on pages 89 - 93.
  2. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that neither the organisers nor land owners nor their agents shall be held responsible for any loss, injury, damage to competitors, onlookers, their property, servants or horses or ponies, howsoever caused.
  3. Competitors shall be 12 years of age or older at the closing date for entry.
  4. Anyone who is competing, exercising, handling or responsible for a horse and is not a British Riding Clubs (BRC) member must have their own third party insurance.
  5. Horses and ponies shall be 4 years of age or older at the closing date for entry.
  6. Horses may be ridden once only in each class in Classes 1-4 , once only in each test in Class 5, PYO dressage.
  7. Any combination who has competed at Prelim level prior to this competition may not compete in Class 1 Intro Walk & Trot; they may go HC if desired.
  8. Everyone mounted, whether or not a competitor, shall wear correct riding clothes, in accordance with the BRC Rules.  This must include ‘Protective Headwear’, with a harness properly adjusted and fastened.  Failure to do so will incur elimination.  British Riding Clubs Handbook | The British Horse Society  Dress and tack on pages 89 - 93.
    ‘Protective Headwear’ constitutes a hat meeting one of the following standards: 
    British       PAS 015 (2011)              } Provided they are
                       VG1 01.040  (2014-12) } BSI Kitemarked 
    European EN1384  (2023)              } or Inspec IC marked
    American ASTM F1163 (2015 onwards) provided they are SEI marked
                      SNELL E2016 or 2021 onwards 
    Australian & New Zealand AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) provided they are SAI Global marked  
    Skullcaps must be worn with an appropriate coloured silk.
    Gloves are recommended but no longer compulsory. 
  9. Competitors must report to the steward 10 minutes before their given start time. 
    Failure to do so may incur elimination. 
  10. DOGS ARE PERMITTED BUT MUST BE ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES
  11. The organisers reserve the right in the light of prevailing circumstances to cancel the event, alter classes, Judges, times, prize money or any other published information.
  12. In all cases the Judge's decision is final. Any objection shall be accompanied by a deposit of £20 and within half an hour of the incident. The deposit will be returned only if the objection is upheld.
  13. In the event of any dispute, which cannot be satisfactorily resolved, the BVRC may, at its option, agree to a full or partial refund of the competitor’s entry fees. For the avoidance of doubt claims for consequential liability, expenses or other payments shall in no circumstances be accepted.

  15. Medical facilities on the showground may be limited to standard NHS accident & emergency callout.
  16. Any veterinary services utilised (including horse transportation, accommodation or legal disposal of deceased animals) shall be charged to and paid by the competitor. The BVRC does not guarantee that there will be immediate access to a veterinary services or a horse ambulance on the showground, unless otherwise stated. 
  17. BVRC does not guarantee that the showground is a secure site or that the showground perimeter cannot be breached by runaway animals. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure, so far as is possible, that runaways cannot occur.
  18. The BVRC’s responsibility for runaway animals shall be limited to informing the local civil or military police. All costs incurred in any recovery including the cost of any damages incurred during the incident shall be charged to & paid by the competitor.
