Show Information

 

Suitable for Young horses, Restarters and new  Horse and Rider combinations.

Camp this year will consist of 2 back to back day camps, so riders can go home to showers and home comforts in the evenings. This should also help those bringing young horses, who are more likely to recover better going home each evening. Members can choose to do one day or two days. Lunch is provided, along with stables or corrals for horses. You arrive in the morning in time for your morning session. There is a morning and afternoon session scheduled on each day.

Riders will need to bring their own hay, feed, water bucket, but mucking out equipment is available to clear your stable before you leave each day. Corrals using electric fencing will already be in place, but riders should bring their own water buckets.

There is a toilet in the yard that campers can use.

Cost for one day is £80, cost for 2 days is £160.

Provisional Programme:

Sat (day 1)     Young horses arrive for 9am, all other horses arrive by 11am.

09.00 - 11.00  Individual 30 min. sessions for Young horses (Arena & Canter track)

11.00 - 13.00  Group flatwork sessions for more experienced and older horses (Arena & Canter track)

12.00 - 14.00  Lunch

13.30 - 14.15  Group young horse sessions (pairs or threes) Flatwork / Polework / Very small gridwork

14.15 - 15.00  Novice & more experienced horses: Flatwork for suppleness (area)

15.00 - 15.45  Novice & more experienced horses: Poles and Grids (canter track)

15,45 - 16.30  Novice & more experienced horses: XC

Sunday Day 2  Young horses arrive for 9am, al others for 10am

09.00 - 09.45 Young horses sessions: Flatwork with poles (Arena) / Poles and grids (cantertrack) / Intro to Trec / Working Equitation Obstacles (field)

10.00 - 10.45 Dressage (achieving more engagement) / Developing jumping technique (Poles & Grids) / Intro to Trec & working equitation (field)

11.00 - 11.45 Developing lateral work / Using poles to develop elasticity in trot & canter / XC developing balance & accuracy

12.00 - 13.30 Lunch

13.45 - 14.45  Young horses hack or Intro to XC including banks and ditches

14.45 - 15.30  Novice & experienced horses: Getting better marks in Dressage Tests / Maintaining balance & accuracy showjumping / Training horses to cope : spook busting

Riders need to nominate whether they are booking for the young horse stream or novice or more experienced streams, and need to choose which morning and afternoon sessions they wish to attend. An up to date itinary will be sent to participants nearer the time.  Please note that the programme may change slightly to accommodate people’s bookings.

 

Payment Details & Event Fees

The cost is £160 for the two days and will be strictly limited  to 16 places and allocated on a first come first served basis. The cost if you want just to book for one day is £80.00.  Payment of the full amount secures your place.  The closing date is Thursday 20th August. This event is intended for KRC members only. If space becomes available non members may be allowed to attend on proof of insurance and at an additional cost of £15 (£175  total).

Please note  that to book on to the Camp for both days you enter Class 1,  Book onto Class 2 if you are only attending for one day and please state which day you wish to attend.

Refreshments:

 We provide Saturday lunch and Sunday llunch. Please highlight any dietary requirements; are you vegetarian, vegan, non dairy, non gluten, non egg. etc...?

Withdrawals/Refunds

 

If you have to withdraw after the closing date, monies will be retained by the Club unless the space can be filled by another member.  This is to ensure that the venue and trainers costs of running this camp are met.

All riders hats must conform to BRC hat standards. Similarly, if wearing a body protector for any of the classes it should conform to current BRC standards.

All horses must travel with their passport.  All horses attending this camp must have up to date annual flu vaccinations.
