Times for the team tests will be provided to the Development Officers by Thursday 27th August for checking and any errors/omissions and clashes must be resolved by Friday 28th. It is the rider’s responsibility to check times for any changes. Team Times will be displayed on the My Riding Life website. There will be no prize giving on Saturday for Team classes and riders will receive their sheets at the end of each class.
Important Notice All horses must be compliant with the Vaccination rule 10 of the British Dressage Members Handbook. Riders must be available with their passports at their stable at their allotted time. Times will be per region and will be published on My Riding Life.
Team Championship • Teams will be selected in accordance with the Regional Team Selection Policy 2026. • All scoring for team and individual competitions will be based on percentages as per rule 189 of the BD Members Handbook. • Teams must consist of four riders with one at a level from Prelim, Novice, Elementary, Medium, Advanced Medium or PSG. Advanced Medium and PSG will be considered as one class for Individual placings. • Each team of 4 will have a drop score on each day. The rider with the lowest percentage will be deleted from the team average. • The following combinations are permitted: Preliminary, Novice, Elementary, Medium, Advanced Medium or PSG from Bronze, Silver or Gold combinations. • Teams of 3 riders are permitted but all 3 scores will count. If a team drops to two members, they may still ride in the competition for individual placings. However, the competition is a team competition and they will not be eligible for team placings. • Individual Championships will also be awarded at each level: Preliminary Novice Elementary Medium Adv Med/PSG • The individual championships will be determined from the individual results in the team classes.

Conditions of Entry and Qualification As per Rule 191 and 189 of the British Dressage Members Handbook 2026. All riders must be full BD members with fully registered horses and must adhere to the BD code of conduct.
Riders must adhere to British Dressage Regional Selection Policy 2026 guidelines set down for team selection. For Horse and rider combinations that have competed at the BD National or Winter Championships (excluding Area Festival Championships) in the 12 months prior please see rule 191 & 189 of the BD Handbook for eligibility.
Any riders found in breach of the selection policy may be eliminated. Any complaints must be advised to the Ground Jury immediately after the incident and no later than the end of the class.
Payment Details & Event Fees
Please note that the Secretary will only deal with Chef d’Equipes and official competition information will only be given to Chef d’Equipe or their nominated person. Entries must be made via the Pickering Grange online entry system My Riding Life using the link given in your selection email. You must also confirm your entry with your DO and complete the commentary form and return it promptly to your DO.
An indication of how many teams and individuals being sent from each region will be sent to the Development Officers by the verified entries date 29 July. If all allocated places for each region are not taken up then they may be offered to the remaining regions.

Stabling & Stable Manager • Stabling will be available to purchase online via MRL, along with hook ups and shavings. • Stables are £130 per stable for the duration of the show, from Thursday 4pm to Sunday afternoon. If you wish to stay an additional night on Sunday, this is no problem, but you must add on the Sunday night to your booking. • Shavings are £12 per bale. You are more than welcome to bring your own bedding with you however only shavings are allowed within the stables. You are more than welcome to bring rubber matting to put down in the stables. • Hook up is £100 for duration or £45 per night. • We operate a bare boards to bare boards policy. To maintain bio-security we do not provide water drinkers in the stables. You will need to bring your own bucket to provide water for your horse in the stable. The stable areas do have taps for water. You will also need to bring all your own mucking out equipment including wheelbarrow, brush, and muck fork. None of the above equipment is available for hire. • There is no turnout available with the stables. • Your stable can be accessed between 4pm and 10pm on the day of your arrival. No access to stables after 10pm. Please provide an approximate arrival time so the office can prepare accordingly. All stables must be vacated following the closing ceremony. If you wish to stay after the closing ceremony you must book an additional night. • It is really important for us to keep our livery yard clients happy. Having 'strangers' about creates concerns for security and biosecurity. Please respect their concerns and behave accordingly. Access to other yards, using their tools, barrows, helping yourself to their haylage or bedding is strictly forbidden. Anyone infringing these rules would be asked to leave immediately. • Please state if you are bringing a stallion and we will accommodate you. • If you have any other questions or queries, please do ring the office on 07932 667758.
Hook Up Hook up is available for the duration of the show. This must be booked in advance when you make your entry, and they will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
Lorry Park There is ample parking for lorries and a regional plan will be advised for ‘regional camp. Please note that vehicles requiring hook ups will be parked separately at the hook up points. Each DO / Chef d’equipe will be notified of their team’s allocated parking spaces to coordinate. Please only park next to a hook up point if you have pre booked.
The Prize Giving and Closing Ceremony will take place approximately 45 minutes after the final test has been ridden on Sunday. All team riders are required to attend and should not make travel arrangements contrary to this. This will be unmounted, and all riders must be in full riding attire.
Prizes: Rosette’s 1st – 10th Prelim, Nov, Elem, and 1st-6th Med, Adv Med/PSG with prizes awarded for riders placed 1st – 3rd. Sashes will be awarded to the winning team and the winning individuals on Sunday at the prize giving. Winners are decided on the combined scores over the two days. The prize giving will be no earlier than 45 minutes after the last competitor has finished their test.

Refund policy. Please note that after the definite entry date no refunds can be made. Substitutions will be accepted after the close of entries. • In the event that the competition is cancelled, competitors are entitled to a full refund of stabling fees. • Should you need to cancel your stables, competitors will receive a full refund for the stabling prior to 2 weeks before the first day of competition. • Once we are in the 2-week period prior to the event, no refund will be given unless your stable is filled with a replacement. All stable cleaning deposits will be refunded. • All stable cancelations need to be put in writing to info@pickeringgrange.co.uk
Dogs Pickering Grange is Dog Friendly, but they must be on a lead at all times even in the lorry park and whilst walking. All dog droppings must be picked up. No dogs in the stabling area, inside the buildings or arenas.
Arena Walks These will be in the morning preceding the show Saturday and Sunday. Times for arena walks will be published with times.
Exercise of Horses • Please note that during the competition, no horses can be exercised in the allocated warm-up arenas, apart from those who are actually preparing for riding their tests. The Jubilee Arena will be available outside of competition times for general exercise. It is not permitted to ride in these arenas at any time other than those provided and a steward must always be present to ride. • Bridle numbers will be circulated in advance. All horses at all times must have a bridle number on. This is for your own safety and security. • On Thursday and Friday outside of competing times the warm-up arenas will be available for those not competing to exercise their horses. Please see the office for details. Warm-up arenas will be available pm on Thursday 27 August. Please check the office for timings to ensure a steward is present. • Two bridle numbers must be worn at all times when mounted or hand grazing. No hand grazing in headcollars, bridles must be worn at all times.
General Rules and Conduct • Normal BD championship rules apply and this competition is not under FEI rules. • No whips or commanders are permitted in team tests on Saturday and Sunday. Both whips and commanders are permitted for warm up classes on Thursday. • No person but the competitor may school a horse from the saddle for the duration of the show and competitors may not enter a competition arena apart from organised familiarisation or competing. • In the interests of health and safety the directions of the stewards and Organizer’s must be followed at all times. Competitors and supporters are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting the nature of the sport and the spirit of the friendly intent and in line with the British Dressage Members code of conduct. • Team and individual results will be determined when each combination at each level has completed their test and the percentages have been calculated. The results will be notified to the regional representatives, and the test sheets will then be released and each rider will be given the opportunity to check their sheets. A period of 30 minutes after the test sheets have been released will be allowed for the riders to notify their regional representative of any issue or error and for the regional representative to report this to the scorers. If no issue has been raised within the given period then the published results will stand and cannot thereafter be challenged. • All competitors will be bound by the BD code of conduct and social media policy, please refer to Handbook. • Rude and abusive behavior towards people and / or animals will not be tolerated and those in contravention of this will be asked to leave. • Emergency telephone numbers and contact numbers will be posted at the notice board. • Please note that some areas are designated judges/officials only. We would ask you to respect this.
Dress Code Those selected to compete as team members are entitled to wear their nation’s pocket badge (England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales – not the Union flag) on their competition jacket and saddle cloths for the duration of the Home International. Flags to be removed immediately after the competition. Flags must be fixed onto the left breast of the competition coat. Flags may also be worn on saddle cloths for the competition.
Chef D’Equipes There will be a Chef D’Equipes meeting on zoom on Thursday at approx.17.00 or in person in the Piggery Contact details of all Chef D’Equipes should be sent by email to info@pickeringgrange.co.uk
Ground Jury There will be a Ground Jury comprising a Senior Judge and Senior BD Officials to mediate and resolve any disputes. These must be raised by team Chef D’Equipes to the secretary promptly and before the conclusion of the class concerned.

Opening Ceremony There will be an Opening Ceremony on Friday evening. It is compulsory that all riders and Chef D’Equipes attend in regional themed clothing with mascots. There will also be a best dressed stable competition. The theme for 2026 will be Pixies, Fairies and Elves - Prizes for the winning team !
The opening ceremony will be followed by a welcome prosecco reception in the Piggery, and then teams are free to meet in their regions.

First Aid There are on-site first aiders for the duration of the show. Please ask the secretary or anyone from the office should you require help. Toilets and Shower Facilities There are male, female & disabled toilets and showers next to the Piggery which are open 24/7. There are also toilets based next to the Indoor Arenas. Please treat them with respect and keep clean and tidy for the next person following you.
Security Pickering Grange Equestrian is secured by several gates which will remain between 07:00 and 22:00. The bottom gate by the main stable block must be closed at all times, therefore on arrival please shut the gate after going through. Please ensure that valuables are secured and that your vehicles remain locked at times.
Vet / Farrier Although not on site a Vet and Farrier will be on call - please however ensure that your horse is well shod. Contact details will be posted on the notice board outside the secretary’s office .
Photographer There will be an official photographer onsite (Barry Barnard Photography). If you do not wish to be photographed during the show, please inform your DO.
