Horse show parking is at a different location to the main show car parks. Please follow signage and volunteer directions. Parking directions are also available on our Facebook page.
There may be unavoidable delays at peak times, so please plan accordingly.
· NO cars permitted in horse show parking area without prior arrangement and pass from the Horse Show Committee. Cars without these will be turned away to park in the main show car park.
· Please ensure you have enough handlers as Horses and Ponies must not be left unattended.
· Please ensure that you bring enough water for your horse.
· No lunging anywhere on site.
· Please ensure that you keep to the marked horse-walks and do not enter the rest of the park behind the rings or take horses near to the secretary tent.
· There are separate showing, dressage and show jumping warm up rings.
· The practice fences must be jumped with the red wing on the right and riders must not interfere with someone already jumping. This is dangerous and the collecting ring steward has the right to eliminate offenders from their class. Due to insurance, please do not move the location of the practice fences.
· Competitors should be aware that there may be inflatables such as bouncy castles in the main Horticultural Show Ground, as well as other displays.
· The horse show area must be left clean and tidy with droppings, hay and litter removed.
· No on call farrier

By entering a class, you accept the show rules and conditions. This show is part of the Swallowfield Horticultural Society Two Day Show; the show manual can be downloaded from www.swallowfieldshow.co.uk. · The show is run in accordance with the BHS Code of Practice for the Welfare of Horses and Ponies at Events. A copy of which can be found at www.bhs.org.uk
· Riders, handlers and horses must have 3rd Party insurance of their own.
· No claim will be entertained by the Swallowfield Show Horticultural Society for anything which may happen to competitors, onlookers, their servants, property or animals (horses, ponies, dogs) in connection with, or arising from, the Swallowfield Show. It is a condition of entry that they indemnify the society against any legal action arising from these.
· Jumping classes are run under BS rules.
· A riding hat of the correct standard must be worn at all times when riding and a body protector is recommended for jumping.
· Correct riding dress must be worn at all times when riding.
· HORSES/PONIES MUST NOT ENTER THE MAIN SHOW AREA and must remain the horse show area only.
· Colts and Stallions must wear a white or BS tail ribbon and be accompanied by an adult handler at all times.
· All ridden horses must be 4 years or older.
· No animals to be left unattended outside a horsebox or trailer.
· Dogs must be kept on leads.
· Competitors under 16 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
· The Judge’s decision is final. Any objections must be made in writing and handed to The Horse Show Manager within 30 minutes of the incident with a deposit of £20, with will be returned if objection is upheld.
· Entries may be limited at the committee’s discretion. It may refuse entries without giving a reason and may cancel/alter classes in necessary.
· The horse show accepts no responsibility if classes clash. It is the competitors responsibility to ensure ample time is left between class entries. No refunds will be given.
· On the day entries must be made with the correct form and the correct fee in cash. Entries made after closing date/on the day will be subject to a late fee of £3.00 per class.
· Refunds will be given on production of a valid vet or doctor’s certificate produced within 7 days of the show.
· Winners of cups and trophies must sign a promise to return them in good condition to the show manager/committee by the end of June 2027. They must pay a deposit of £20 to be returned on receipt of the cup.
· Abusive or aggressive behaviour towards horse show officials, volunteers or other competitors will not be tolerated and will result in exclusion from the show ground without refund.
· Lunging is not permitted anywhere on the show ground.
