DISCLAIMER

Horse riding and equestrian activities are inherently hazardous and participation is entirely at your own risk. By attending or using the facilities at Northill Equestrian, including but not limited to arena hire, clinics, training sessions, competitions, or any other activity, you acknowledge and accept the risks associated with equestrian activities.

Northill Equestrian, its owners, staff, and representatives shall not be held liable for any accident, injury, loss, damage, or death arising from or in connection with the use of its facilities or participation in any activity on the premises, except where such liability cannot legally be excluded.

If you are booking on behalf of another individual, you are responsible for ensuring that they have read and understood this disclaimer. Attendance at Northill Equestrian shall be deemed acceptance of these terms by all participants.

Whilst every reasonable effort is made to maintain the safety of riding areas, equipment, parking and loading areas, it remains the responsibility of each rider and attendee to inspect the facilities and satisfy themselves that the conditions are safe and suitable for their intended use. Use of the facilities constitutes acceptance that the facilities and equipment are suitable for use.

Riders are responsible for ensuring that they are competent and confident to ride and control their horse within the environment provided and that they have appropriately considered all internal and external environmental factors that may affect safety. Riders are also strongly encouraged to wear correct and properly fitting safety gear including a safety standards compliant riding helmet, body protector, correct footwear and gloves.

Northill Equestrian operates as a livery, training, and competition venue. As such, participants should expect the presence of other horses and riders, activity in surrounding arenas, movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and general yard operations.

Although reasonable care is taken to manage these activities safely, riders and handlers remain responsible for assessing the suitability of the environment for their individual horse, taking into account the horse’s age, experience, temperament, and current behaviour, and for adapting their actions accordingly.

Horses may behave unpredictably, particularly in unfamiliar environments. Riders and assistants must remain vigilant to any changes in behaviour and make appropriate safety decisions at all times.

Northill Equestrian does not provide supervision during arena hires or private use of the facilities. Riders are strongly advised not to attend alone and should, wherever possible, be accompanied by another responsible person on foot. Participants should also be aware that there may be no staff or first aid trained individual present on site during their hire period.

An emergency contact number must be provided at the time of booking, together with any relevant medical information the participant wishes to disclose. Participants are also strongly encouraged to ensure emergency contact details are accessible to those attending with them.

For safety purposes, we recommend that emergency contact information is stored in the ICE (“In Case of Emergency”) section of your mobile phone.

Additionally, any damage caused to Northill Equestrian property, facilities, fencing, arenas, equipment, or surrounding infrastructure by a rider, attendee, or their horse (including but not limited to accidental or negligent damage) shall be the responsibility of the individual who caused or is associated with the damage. The rider or booking party may be held liable for the full cost of repair or replacement.

It is also the responsibility of all riders and attendees to ensure that all gates are securely closed at all times and that arenas remain fully enclosed before, during, and after use to maintain the safety of horses, riders, and other users of the venue.

Northill Equestrian is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all riders, horses, and visitors. However, due to the unpredictable nature of horses and equestrian activities, all participants must take personal responsibility for their own
safety, the safety and wellbeing of their horse, and the safety of those in their care.
