Showing attire should be traditional and correct for showing. Appropriate bridle with lead rein or halter
can be worn. Natives and traditional can be shown in natural state, other breeds and types should be
plaited or hogged. Classes will be seen at halt, walk & trot and inspected by the judge. Judged on conformation, action, type, manners, condition and presentation.

WORKING HUNTER CLASSES
Class consists of a jumping phase of natural type obstacles, followed by a showing phase. Competitors eliminated in the jumping will not
compete the showing phase. Horses judged: 40% jumping, 20% style & manners, 20% ride and way of going, 20% type, action & conformation.

On July 28th we will hold our champions or champions finals, we will hold two finals. One in-hand and one ridden. Both
held at the end off the day, all Champion and Reserve Champions will qualify. Beautiful Sash, Rosettes and prizes on
offer including Ingatestone vouchers, Beechwood arena hires and more

Pre entries will close Saturday before the show. Entries can
also be do on the day and cash or card payment accepted.

1. The organisers reserve the right to alter the schedule in anyway whatsoever.
2. The judge’s decision is final.
3. Any objection must be handed in to the secretary in writing, within one hour of the event in question
with a deposit of £10.00 to be forfeited if the objection is not substantiated by the judges and/or committee.
4. Hard Hats to comply with current standards must be worn at all shows, Batons must also conform to
BSJA standards, No whips are allowed to be used.
5. The organisers accept no responsibility whatsoever for anything which may occur to competitors,
their servants, their property or horses. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant shall
agree to indemnity the show and its organisers against legal action arising from any such incident.
6. All jumping classes run under BSJA rules.
7. No horse or pony may be ridden in any class under the age of four years (on January 1st this year).
8. Mountain and moorland ponies must be shown in the natural state; they must be true to type for
unregistered classes.
9. The committee may act in any way they see fit in any dispute or any other matter.
10. No horse or pony may jump in more than three classes at any show.
11. To qualify for trophies at the end of the year, members must attend one work party, or help on one
show day, then have your name entered in the work book by the show secretary. Points will only be
accrued from the date of joining.
12. Judges may be changed at organiser’s discretion.
13. No colts or stallions to be handled or ridden by under 14 year olds in showing shows.
14. We cannot be held responsible for class clashes, please ensure you prioritise your classes , classes
may be held at judges discretion and refunds will not be given.
15. In the interest of the welfare of the Horse/Pony the Committee have the right to question whether
the rider is at a suitable height/weight for combination.
16. As stated by the BSJA new rule for 2026 a baton must never be used on a Horse or Pony after a
refusal or elimination or in anger and never to be used on the horse’s head. The baton may be used to
support the shoulder to encourage the horse but no more than three times whilst in the arena.
17.Misuse of the baton in the arena, practice arena or anywhere on the showground will result in disciplinary action being taken
18. You must take all your rubbish home or put in the bins on the showground.
