Terms & Conditions

BLUE LIGHTS HORSE SHOWS® [BLHS] are official event hosts of this venue’s Police Sport U.K. competition. BLHS competition rules reflect BD/BS/BRC rules and overarching BEF and FEI guidance. Showing classes, guidance and rulings, may align with individual association rulebooks as indicated within the schedule of classes. It is the responsibility of each competitor to be conversant with the relevant rulebooks for classes entered.

SCHEDULE REVISONS
Any future schedule revisions will be notified to all entered competitors. for non-entered competitors the current uploaded online schedule should be re-visited and referred to for clarification of any revisions or amendments prior to booking entries.

COMPETITOR NUMBERS
Competitors to provide their own number cloths / bridle numbers / number bibs / arm bands where applicable / or required for ALL classes. Competitor Note - Dressage classes require a bridle number on each side of the bridle.

RIDER SECTIONS
Competitor Note: Entries must clearly state in rider notes which section the rider represents. Non declarations will place riders as an open entry and alterations cannot be guaranteed after the entry closing date.

GDPR CONSENT
It is a condition of entry that Services competitors agree validation checks may be carried out to verify service status. By entering this event each rider permits the entries secretary to communicate necessary and sufficient information to BLHS / PSUK Coordinators including name/ personal contact information / services status declarations so that validation checks may be completed and for the awarding of prizes and championship titles.

OPEN RIDERS (Non-Services Riders) – Open Section
PSUK (Current Members of Police Sports Clubs) - Provide collar / staff number and police force
Entry eligibility – PSUK section requires police riders to be a current member of their police force sports club/s – Entry eligibility checks will be undertaken.
U.K. PROTECTIVE SERVICES / BLUE LIGHTS EMERGENCY SERVICES / ARMED FORCES - Provide collar / staff number and which Protective Service Represented. Entry Eligibility – All other Services (non-PSUK)

PSUK Riders must be current members of their respective force sports club. Any Police rider who is not a member of a police force sports club must not enter the PSUK section but may compete in the Blue Lights / U.K. Protective Services section subject to validation checks and BLHS approval.

POLICE & SERVICES RIDERS
WHITE ARMBANDS should be worn by services riders who elect to wear traditional competition dress or showing attire.

UNIFORM DRESS
Should only be worn by serving officers and staff whose service / force status permits the wearing of uniform. Retired officers or other Services employees whose services / force status does not permit the issue of uniform should compete in approved equestrian attire. Equestrian attire with PSUK logos is permitted to denote PSUK force sports club membership. Force Sports Clubs may also permit services riders to use force logos. Services riders not competing in uniform or competition jackets with PSUK / Force logos should wear a white armband to denote they are riding as a Services Section competitor.

TEAM ENTRIES COMPETITOR NOTE: Team riders must first be entered as an individual in each of their chosen classes. When entering the TEAM entry – In entry notes - all rider / horse combinations in the TEAM entry MUST be named and the entry MUST state which class is to be scored as the TEAM entry score for each horse/rider combination.

COURTEOUS CONDUCT & BEHAVIOUR Competitors must be courteous and respectful to all show goers, fellow competitors and show officials and must always abide by directions of show stewards and officials. Discourteous conduct may result in competitors being required to leave the show ground without being permitted to compete and forfeit remaining entries. Discourteous behaviour or other misconduct concerns may also be subject of separate referral report considerations to the individual’s force as deemed appropriate or necessary for services section competitors.

INSURANCE / HEALTH & SAFETY All BLHS events will be managed and risk assessed by BLHS, in conjunction with associated show partners, organisations and the hosting venue. BLHS undertake to ensure the review and implementation of health and safety arrangements, risk management plans and appropriate venue event insurance. On an individual basis – all riders and rider connections attending BLHS – agree - as a condition of entry – to have relevant and adequate insurance provision in place to cover their ridden activities and rider insurance must include third-party liability. All competitors accept as a condition of entry they are attending BLHS to compete and ride at their own risk - recognising that equestrian sport can be a high-risk activity and equines can be unpredictable animals both to handle and to ride.

SHOW CANCELLATION Additionally - where necessary – event planning may need to comply with other restrictive provisions and so may be subject to alterations or cancellations in part or full. Entry is taken as acceptance of any future revision or alteration of event information and scheduling previously published for any reason. If cancellation of BLHS in its entirety should be required for any reason – class entries may be transferred to an alternative show date or refunded as appropriate - at the sole discretion of the Hosting venue & BLHS - subject to an administration fee.

ANNUAL FLU VACCINATION Equines are required to be within annual flu vaccination rules.
