You can attend as many days as you like.  You may commute each day if you don't wish to stay over in your trailer/lorry.

4 days to be held over 10th – 13th September: Can arrive Wednesday night, need to depart by 16:30 on the Sunday. Designed to be pick and mix so that people can attend as many days as you like. Different price options to account for different budgets. Accommodation is in your own tents or lorries or trailers. There are plenty of local B&B options if people wish.  You may commute each day if preferred.  Please specify in class notes which days you wish to attend if not coming for the full 4 days

Stabling 

Use of all wheatlands facilities Residential Camps at Wheatlands Farm

Tuition – total of 8 lessons over the 4 days

Ridden activities will include x-country schooling, flat, pole and jumping sessions alongside hacking and if there is demand working equitation/ horse agility

Three meals provided a day and snacks available including tea and coffee and squash (provide your own alcoholic and soft drinks)

Quiz night - Saturday

 

Ad lib Hay/ Haylage and 2 bags of bedding (chopped straw).  No wood-based bedding (pellets/shavings) are allowed to be used onsite.

Day stables available for those not staying overnight, please provide your own hay and straw.  Wood-based bedding (pellets, shavings) are NOT allowed.

Wheatlands Farm operate a clean stable policy and all stables are required to be emptied of all bedding prior to departure at the end of camp.

For those that prefer not to stable there are two outdoor pens available for horses to live out in whilst at camp. This will be first come first served however priority will go to those with medical reasons not to be stabled.

 For non riding members who wish to attend/ second campers where sharing a horse please contact organiser direct for price.

REFUNDS  

Refund of entry fees, less the booking fee and a small admin charge to cover non-recoverable costs, will be made up to 28 days after the event, in the following circumstances:

  • Prior to the closing date for entries
  • After the closing date for entries on production of doctor's or vet's certificate
  • Cancellation of event

Transfer of entries may only be requested prior to closing date for entries. 

Terms & Conditions

Health & Safety Policy The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health & safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and shall obey the instructions of the organiser, and all officials & stewards.

Competition Notes:
For the avoidance of doubt, campers shall understand that the rules and conditions of entry (listed below) are the sole terms under which the Bourne Valley Riding Club (BVRC) organises such events. Campers shall not enter BVRC events unless they have read, understood and fully accepted these terms.
 

BVRC General Rules & Conditions of Entry 

  1. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that neither the organisers nor land owners nor their agents shall be held responsible for any loss, injury, damage to competitors, onlookers, their property, servants or horses or ponies, howsoever caused.
  2. Everyone mounted, shall wear correct riding clothes, in accordance with BRC Rules.  This must include ‘Protective Headwear’, with a harness properly adjusted and fastened. 
    ‘Protective Headwear’ constitutes a hat meeting one of the following standards: 
    British PAS 015: (2011) or VG1 01.040: (2014-12)               } Provided they are BSI Kitemarked 
    European  EN1384: (2023)                                                   } or Inspec IC marked 
    American ASTM F1163: (2015 onwards)                              Provided they are marked SEI or
                       SNELL E2016 or 2021 onwards)                         Provided they have official SNELL label and number. 
    Australian & New Zealand AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards)   Provided they are SAI global marked 
    Skullcaps must be worn with an appropriate coloured silk.
    Cross Country: Hats must be Jockey Scull to above standard and MUST NOT have a PEAK. 
  3. Dressage: Gloves are compulsory.
    Show Jumping: Body protectors are strongly recommended.
    Cross Country: A Body Protector to BETA Level 3 (Blue label dated 2018 or after) is compulsory.  An Airbag style protector, if used, must be worn over a permitted body protector.
    Riders wearing Exo Body Cage protectors must inform the organiser before commencing the cross country.
     
  4. Refund of entry fees, less the booking fee and a small admin charge to cover non-recoverable costs, will be made up to 28 days after the event, in the following circumstances:
    prior to closing date / after the closing date on production of doctor’s or vet’s certificate / cancellation of event.

  5. DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A SHORT LEAD AT ALL TIMES including walking the cross country course.
  6. The organisers reserve the right in the light of prevailing circumstances to cancel the event, alter classes, Judges, times, prize money or any other published information.
  7. In all cases the Judge's decision is final. Any objection shall be accompanied by a deposit of £20 and within half an hour of the incident. The deposit will be returned only if the objection is upheld.
  8. In the event of any dispute, which cannot be satisfactorily resolved, the BVRC may, at its option, agree to a full or partial refund of the competitor’s entry fees. For the avoidance of doubt claims for consequential liability, expenses or other payments shall in no circumstances be accepted.
  9. Medical facilities may be limited to standard NHS accident & emergency callout.
  10. Any veterinary services utilised (including horse transportation, accommodation or legal disposal of deceased animals) shall be charged to and paid by the competitor. The BVRC does not guarantee that there will be immediate access to a veterinary services or a horse ambulance on the showground, unless otherwise stated. 
  11. BVRC does not guarantee that the showground is a secure site or that the showground perimeter cannot be breached by runaway animals. It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure, so far as is possible, that runaways cannot occur.
  12. The BVRC’s responsibility for runaway animals shall be limited to informing the local civil or military police. All costs incurred in any recovery including the cost of any damages incurred during the incident shall be charged to & paid by the competitor.

  14. Campers are not allowed to use facilities on the main yard or let horses into the camping field
  15. Horses must be up to date with their annual flu vaccinations and horses must not have had their boosters less than 7 days before the start of camp.
