Best Turned Out: 30% Cleanliness, condition and correctness of tack: 30% Cleanliness and preparation of pony: 30% Cleanliness, neatness handler, 10% overall impression
Class 6 – In hand youngstock (10:15am)
Open to any filly or colt 3 years or below from January 2025
Class 7 – In hand Veteran (10:30am)
Any horse or pony 15 years or over
Open to members and non-members
Class 8 – Best young Handler (10:45am)
Open to any horse or pony, Handler must be 16 or under
Class 9 - In Hand M & M, Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Welsh, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara (11:00am)
Open to native breeds, 60% correctness of breed, 20% manners, 20% overall presentation
Class 10 - In Hand Riding/hunter horse/pony (11:15am)
In Hand Riding / Hunter ponies, stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding. Any age, any height
Class 11 - In Hand Coloured (11:30)
skewbald, piebald, tri coloured, road, palomino, Dunn, roan and spotted, open to horses and ponies of any age, 40% conformation, 30% way of going, 30% manners
Class 12 - In Hand Cobs (11:45)
The cob is a type rather than a breed; they should be short legged with good bone and capable of carrying an adult of substantial weight – open to any age
Open to cobs including show and traditional. Stallion, mare or Gelding, 4 years and over.
Class 13 – In hand best RoR (12pm)
Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, any height. Horses must have been raced in the
GB to be eligible to compete
Class 14 – In hand best sports horse (12:15pm)
Open to any age size or sex sport horse or pony
Class 15 – Fancy dress (12:30pm)
Best fancy dressed –
In Hand Championship will be at 12:45pm
If you came 1st or 2nd in any in hand class you will be eligible for the championship
This show is affiliated to the Irish Draught Society (GB) and as such all exhibitors in classes 16 & 28 must be eligible under the below criteria:-
· All horses must be registered with or over stamped by the IDHS (GB) and in the correct ownership
· Owners of Pure Bred Irish Draughts and Irish Draught Sport Horse (Part Bred) must be full members of the IDHS (GB) to compete
· Irish Draught Part Breds (Sport Horse) are horses that have a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding
· Ridden horses must be 153cm (15hh) or over.
· In hand breeding classes
o MARES with foals at foot, 3 years and over must be inspected and classified as Class 1 (or RID), Class 2 or Supplementary Grade Up (or AID)
o Pure Bred youngstock must be the progeny of an inspected Mare (Class 1, Class 2, RID (GB), AID or Supplementary Grade Up Register) and be by a Class 1, 2 or RID (GB) stallion on the Irish Draught Breed Register.
o Pure Bred ID and ID Part Bred (Sport Horse), 3 year old colts must be un-inspected
o All 1, 2 & 3 year old colts must be bitted and shown by an experienced handler over 18 years of age
· All Pure-Bred Irish Draught Stallions
o must be inspected and over stamped by the IDHS (GB) and be Class 1, 2 or RID (GB). Stallions must display a red, white and blue ribbon in their tails and be shown by an experienced rider/handler over 18 years of age
GENERAL QUALIFIER INFORMATION:
· The Finals of all IDHS (GB) qualifiers will be held at the IDHS (GB) National Championship Show on 5th & 6th September 2026 at Pickering Grange Equestrian, Pickering Grange Farm, Ellistown, Terrance Road, Coalville, LE67 1EZ.
· All owners of qualified horses will be contacted by a member of the IDHS (GB) Show Affiliation Team
· Horses can only qualify for a specific Final once, regardless of the type or number of classes won, placed in or entered
Judge: Conformation Judge needed
Class 16 - Irish Draught / Irish Draught Sport Horse (Part Bred) Youngstock (12:45)
Yearling, two and three year old filly, gelding or colt either by a Class 1, 2 or RID (GB) sire out of an inspected Irish Draught dam or, ID Part Bred of at least 25% proven Irish Draught Breeding
This show is a Qualifier for The Irish Draught Owners & Breeders Group Youngstock Challenge. The two highest placed Pure-Breds from each age group not already qualified in Class 16 will qualify. If one or both have already qualified, the horse next in line in each age group will qualify. Horses entered into this class must be eligible under the above criteria.
At the final, there will be three preliminary classes with the two highest placed semi-finalists from each class going forward to the Championship. The Champion will receive £500 and the Reserve Champion £150.
RIDDEN CLASSES COMMENCING 13:30
Class 17 - Ridden Best Turned Out - Any age and any horse. (13:30pm)
Open to any horse or pony Mare, gelding, stallion, colt or filly
Class 18 - Ridden Lead Rein and first ridden (13:45pm)
Ridden Lead Rein not exceeding 148, 4 years to 7 years and 8 years to 11 years (as on the 1st Jan 2024) 20% overall appearance, 60% efficiency, 20% ring craft - will be split if adequate entries.
First Ridden - A First-Ridden Show Pony or Show Hunter Pony is one which is suitable as the first pony for a child once he or she is able to ride without a lead rein.
Class 19 – Young rider Equitation (14:00pm)
Rider under 16 years old , 40% rider position and effectiveness, 40% individual show, 20% overall presentation.
Class 20 – Senior rider Equitation (14:15pm)
Rider over 16 years old, 40% rider position and effectiveness, 40% individual show, 20% overall presentation.
Class 21 – Ridden Hunter horses/ponies (14:30pm)
Open ridden hunter, mare or gelding, 4 years and over, any height, riders of any age.
Class 22 - Ridden M&M, Shetland, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Welsh, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Connemara, any native breed (14:450pm)
40% correct of type, 30% manners and individual show and 30% overall impression.
Class 23 – Open Ridden Cob (15:00pm)

Class 25 - Ridden RoR (15:30pm)
Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, any height. Horses must have been raced in the
GB to be eligible to compete. Riders any age. Riders any age. any bridle, 40% conformation, 30% individual show, 30% overall impression
Class 26 – Ridden sports horse (15:45pm)
Open to any ridden sports horse or pony any age rider
Class 27 – Ridden Fancy Dress (16:00pm)

Class 28 - Ridden Irish Draught & Irish Draught Sport Horse (Part Bred): Horses ages 4 years old and over, mare, stallion or gelding registered either on the Irish Draught Breed Register or the Irish Draught Sport Horse Register or over stamped with the IDHS (GB) (16:15)
This show is a qualifier for the £2,000 Ridden Challenge jointly sponsored by the IDHS (GB) and Yorkshire Irish Draught & Hunter Show. The highest placed Pure Bred and Part Bred (not already qualified) from class 28 will qualify for the final. Horses competing in this class must be eligible as per the criteria on page 3 of this schedule.
In the final, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, the Reserve Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Pure Bred Irish Draught will receive £100, and the highest placed Irish Draught Part Bred will receive £50.
Ridden Championship will be at (16:30pm)
