PLEASE NOTE THE NEW POLICY OF VACCINATIONS/ PASSPORTS AND TEMPERATURE CHECKING

In light of the recent local outbreaks of EHV and equine flu, Plumpton College has implemented enhanced biosecurity measures for all horses attending the site. These procedures are effective immediately and must be followed by all visitors using the equine facilities.

Requirements for All Horses Attending Site

  • All horses must have been vaccinated within the last 6 months.
  • Best practice is for horses to also be vaccinated against EHV and Strangles where possible.
  • All horses must have their temperature taken on the morning of attendance. Any horse showing signs of illness or an elevated temperature must not be brought to site.

Passport & Arrival Procedures

  • For individual arena hires, passports must be checked on arrival before horses are unloaded.
  • No horses are to be taken off lorries/trailers until passports have been checked.
  • For shows and clinics, the organiser/hirer is responsible for checking every attending horse’s passport, Please pass on the info to your competitors/ attendees.
  • Competitors attending shows must produce their horse’s vaccination record in the passport before unloading.
  • Plumpton College equine yard staff reserve the right to spot check passports of any horse attending site.

Site Rules

  • No access to the college yard or fields at any time.
  • No Haynets in the car park. Please try and ensure that everyone takes their own muck away .
  • No hand grazing anywhere on site.
  • Visitors must remain within designated event/arena areas only.
  • If assistance is required, please contact: 07387 41183                            Please be aware that anyone found breaking these rules will be asked to leave site immediately.

These measures are in place to protect the health and welfare of all horses on site and to minimise the risk of disease spread. We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.
