Starting Times:
SHOW JUMPING CLASSES: Pre-entries only. All classes are drawn order. Combinations may only jump two consecutive classes i.e. if you enter class 1, the same combination may not enter class 3, and likewise for all classes. DRESSAGE CLASSES: These will be run across two arenas and will be outdoors away from the show jumping warm up. Pre-entries only. All classes are drawn order.
TIMINGS AND NUMBERS • All classes will run to a strict drawn order of allocated times. • Failure to present at the correct time will result in elimination. • Times available from 6 pm on Wednesday 19th March on Bury Farm website. • Please print your own A4 number and wear in a bib or pinned to your jacket on the day. Avoid bridle numbers that may not be visible from the judges box.

Non-members £22, South Hertfordshire Pony Club £20 and includes a £3 paramedic fee on all riders.
PC TEAMS • Branches can enter as many teams as they wish.
Teams for each class can be made up of three or four riders from the same Branch. One rider may ride two horses. Top three scores of the Team count.
• Team entries by Thursday 19th March 2026 please, either providing the information online when submitting entries, or by emailing enquiries@buryfarmestates.co.uk with team details. Team entries are free of charge.

Rosettes to 6th place in all classes for individuals and 4th place for teams. Keeper trophies in all classes. An
unmounted presentation will be held for each class as soon as the results are available. Please could prize
winners present themselves in correct riding dress to receive their awards

1. ELIGIBILITY This competition is open to ALL.
2. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason.
3. The competition is being run under Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2026 which you can find at: RulebookShow-Jumping-2026.pdf
4. The decision of the judges and stewards in all cases is final.
5. Excessive use of the whip, including repeated slapping down the shoulder, is prohibited. The whip may be
used a maximum of three times during any round. Use of the whip will be monitored, and excessive use
may result in elimination. PADDED JUMPING BATS ONLY PERMITTED.
6. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they
are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or
representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss,
damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or
any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any
other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
7. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of
everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable
precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all
officials and stewards.
8. Non-Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own thirdparty cover. South Hertfordshire Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally
responsible for non-members, and their insurance will not cover you.
9. South Hertfordshire Pony Club takes the privacy and safeguarding of children at Pony Club very
seriously. The only external photographers that are permitted to take images of the children at any of our
Pony Club events are those directly engaged by the organisers and these images will never be used for any
external media, advertising or promotion other than with the express written permission of the parents.
10. Horses and ponies must be four years or older on the day of the show.
11. All competitors must be suitably dressed in correct riding attire. Hats must be approved PAS015, EN1384 or
BS EN1384 with BSI Kitemark and chin straps must be always fastened when mounted. From 1st January
2024, Body protectors MUST comply to the BETA 2018 standard ONLY. From 1st January 2025, SPURS may
only be worn by those identified with a YELLOW hat tag.
12. The Organisers reserve the right to alter the programme of events at their discretion, and should the event
be cancelled for any reason the Organisers reserve the right to retain a proportion of entry fees to cover
their expenses.
13. The same horse or pony may be ridden by 2 different riders in class 1 & 2 only. No one can compete more
than 3 horses / ponies in the same class. A horse/pony is only permitted to take part in 2 SJ classes and the
same combination only in consecutive classes.
14. No substitution of entries after the closing date.

16. Single Phase Competition (course in two parts with second part timed).
17. Competitors to jump both parts unless eliminated. Faults to be accumulated.
18. Teams may include riders riding more than one horse / pony.
19. Teams to consist of 3 or 4 riders, best 3 scores will count. Competitors jump only once whether individual
or team.
20. In the interests of safety and the smooth running of the event, all competitors and accompanying persons
MUST follow the instructions of show officials, and this includes directions as to the parking of vehicles.
21. Horses/ponies tied to the outside of trailers/lorries must not be left unattended.
22. The area around your horse box/trailer must be tidy and all droppings removed.
23. Dogs must be always kept on a lead.
