The Dressage Masters is a National Series running alongside the Chart Stables International Dressage at Hickstead. Open to all riders, from Prelim to Small Tour Levels, the first test is a qualifying round, with the top 15 competitors in each section going on to compete in a Freestyle class in the International Arena on the following day. You do not have to qualify to compete in The Masters 2026.

This series is a long standing initiative hosted by Dressage at Hickstead for many years. It gives riders the opportunity to compete in high class surroundings in an International atmosphere, giving combinations the much needed exposure and experience for high level sport.

In 2026 entries are on a first come first served basis.

All entries in advance. Entries must only be made via My Riding Life.
Payment is secure and it goes directly to Aster Events.
You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.

First aid £5 per rider, per day.

Stabling £70 per night, Hook up £120 duration of Masters, Two nights Monday - Wednesday

Masters Qualifying Round. Rosettes to 10th place, Sash to winner

Freestyle Championships - Rosettes to 10th Rug for winner

 The top 15 in each level of competition will automatically qualify for the Freestyle test the next day. When the results of the qualifying round are released please go to the show office to declare for the following freestyle competition. If you have not declared by 7.30pm it will be presumed that you are not intending to ride in the Freestyle. Your place will then be offered to the next available combination.

A sound check will be run at around 8pm the evening before the freestyle tests

Saturday 16th may : The Canter Ball – THE social event of the week
A time to dress up and enjoy a sumptuous 3 course dinner in the Beethoven Suite – overlooking the iconic main show jumping arena. There will be fizz, fun and an opportunity to bid in our live auction – raising funds for the charity Barnardos.
Tickets are selling fast. £125 each or £1200 per table of ten

 Refunds are only available with a vet/doctors note and if there is a sufficient waiting list to fill the space. Refunds will not be issued after the closing date.
