90-Minute Group Bitting Clinic with Jodie Hewitt-Sherry

Join us for a 90-minute group bitting clinic with Jodie Hewitt-Sherry,
LANTRA/HBF qualified EAPER Bit & Bridle Fitter and BHS Equestrian Coach.

The session will begin unmounted, with Jodie assessing each horse’s head and oral conformation, as well as discussing their history. This will be followed by a group ridden analysis, where tack changes can be made, tested, and assessed.

Before the clinic, you will be asked to complete a booking form to provide Jodie with background information on your horse. Please also bring along any bridles and bits you currently use so they can be fully assessed.

• Rub its face on its leg during work or after the bridle is removed?

This may be caused by compression or pain from the bridle. Poorly fitted bridles can create pressure points that irritate nerves, facial structures (including bony protrusions), and soft tissue.

Does your horse…

• Excessively play with the bit, chomp, or push it up?

You may assume it’s “just the bit” — but the issue could be how the bridle and bit work together.

• Struggling to progress despite consistent training?

• Stepping up a level or changing disciplines?

This is the perfect time to review your bit and bridle setup to ensure it’s supporting, not limiting, your horse’s performance.

Clinic booking terms & conditions:
Everyone taking part in this clinic must abide by the British Riding Club Rules (BRC) . Details of these are available at:https://www.bhs.org.uk/british-riding-clubs/brc-downloads/brc-handbook/. Anyone not abiding by these rules will not be permitted to take part in the clinic.

SRC will be carrying out  hat spot checks across clinics to check hat standards, if asked please allow your hat to be checked, if you do not submit your hat for checking you will not be permitted to take part in the clinic.

The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. Neither the organisers nor The British Horse Society accept responsibility for any accident, injury, loss or illness to horse, rider, spectator or property while present at this clinic.
 
Emergency first aid is available by calling ‘999’.
 
Can we please remind everyone that when booking onto one of our clinics the onus is on you to advise the organiser as soon as you realise you may have a problem attending through horse, rider or transport problems. The Club generally run clinics as non-profit making and therefore once the times and groups have been issued (which we try to do so as late as possible) we are obliged to pay the venue and instructor for the hours booked and anyone cancelling last minute may incur costs for the club.  Anyone cancelling after the times have been issued may be required to still pay for their session or at least a portion of the cost if their slot cannot be filled by someone else.
