Arena Eventing (0.70m)
Info:
To include ACE Q. Riders must be 8 years or older to compete but to qualify for ACE you must be 10 years or older. Riders competing in the U18 ACE classes are not to have attained their 18th birthday on or before the date of the Championships.
Horses must be at least 132cms in height to compete in 70cm, 80cm and 90cm classes and at least 142cm in height to compete in 100cm classes.

Entries close the preceding 48 hours at 9am. Late entries will be taken at a £3 charge per class. If classes are full a waiting list will be kept.
Horses may only enter once in each class competitively.
Dress Code: Cross country attire for both phases. Body protectors and helmets WITHOUT a fixed peak must be worn by all riders. Riders are NOT permitted to wear a stopwatch.
Payment Details & Event Fees
ONLINE ENTRIES ONLY in advance using our Secure Online Entry System. Payment is secure and it goes directly to Solihull Riding Club. You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment.
Entry Fees: £35.00. No Vouchers can be used for this event.
Loyalty card per combination– once you have competed get your card stamped at the office, collect three stamps and only pay £10 for Aspen Cooling Ltd championship event! (Non-championship class included) Only valid per horse and rider combination. For example: If you compete two horses you need two cards. Non-transferable.
Aspen Cooling Ltd Championship: Saturday 18TH April 2026

Rosettes to 10th place. Qualification for ASPEN COOLING Ltd Championship up to 10th place in each class, you may qualify for multiple classes but only complete in two consecutive classes at the ASPEN COOLING Ltd championship. For example, if you qualify for all heights you can only choose two consecutive heights, 80cm and 90cm NOT 70cm and 90cm.
At each event, a points league will be implemented. Collect points to be in the overall points league for the chance to win a £500 prize pot (see breakdown) to be announced at the April Aspen Cooling Championship show.
A POINTS LEAGUE WILL RUN FROM NOVEMBER – MARCH WITH A CASH PRIZE POT!
Aspen Cooling Ltd LEAGUE RULES
• A League will run from 29th November to 7th March.
• The Aspen cooling Ltd championship show will not count towards the league.
• The final results will be announced at the Aspen Cooling Ltd championship show on the 18th April 2026.
• It is an overall league.
• All classes on the qualifying competitions go towards the league table.
• Points are collected per combination. Individual horses carry individual points.
• Elimination/Withdrawal/Retirement do not collect points.
• Example: Joe Blogs enters the 70cm and 80cm on his horse Joey. He comes 1st on the 70cm and 14th in the 80cm. He has 12 points. Eve Smith enters the 70cm on her horses Dan and Jerry, both complete but end up outside the placings in 11th and 12th. She earns one point on each horse.

Each class for the Aspen Cooling Ltd championship:
• 1st – Trophy & £250 CASH prize money

We will also be running non-championship classes for each height for those who haven’t qualified.

COMPETITION STRUCTURE AND SCORING
Classes range from BE70 to BE100 (1.00m) level.
• Only ACE will offer an U18’s section for each heigh.
• To qualify for ACE you must be 10 years or older.
• They consist of six to eight show jumps, followed immediately by eight to 10 simulated, knock- down cross-country fences including a skinny, corner.
• There will be no more than 20 jumping efforts.
• The whole round will be timed.
• Penalties will be given as per the table below.
• The winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties.
• In the event of a tie the winner will be the one closest to the optimum time.
• The optimum time is calculated based on a speed of 350m per minute.
• Stop watches are not permitted.
• Penalties as follows:
ACE Penalties
• First disobedience 4 penalties
• Second disobedience at same fence 8 penalties
• Third disobedience Elimination
• Knock down of obstacle 4 penalties
• Fall of horse Elimination
• Fall of rider Elimination
• Every commenced second in excess of the optimum time 0.4 penalties
• Every commenced second in excess of 5 seconds under the optimum time 0.4 penalties
• Exceeding time allowed Elimination (Time allowed is twice the optimum time)

• Retaking obstacle already jumped Elimination
ACE QUALIFIERS
ACE qualifiers will be run at a range of venues across the UK and will be open to all. Riders will not need to be members of BE to take part in the qualifiers. Qualifying legs will offer competitors the chance to pick up a coveted qualifying ticket for the Championship Finals – offering a fabulous four-day celebration of ACE competition, set to be held next spring at the stunning Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.
Riders compete in their cross country kit, including cross country colours, and will take on a course of show jumps followed by a simulated cross country course of knock-down fences.
Riders must be 10 years or older to qualify for the Ace championships.
Classes are split into two age ranges, seniors and under 18's (U18). Whilst the qualifiers will see all age groups compete together, the Championship Final will see the two age categories split. Those competing in the U18 classes are not to have attained their 18th birthday on or before the date of the Championships.

ACE CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Championships are open to BE members only. A minimum of a PAYG membership is required for the rider, no need to purchase a horse season ticket, just a free horse registration.
The 2026 Harry Hall One Club ACE Championship Finals will take place from 28th May to 31st May 2026.
Competitors who qualify for the BE ACE Championships 2026 at Aintree Equestrian Centre will receive a British Eventing ACE Championships 2026 qualification card from the ACE competition Organiser.
Qualification is for combinations only. Substitutions will not be possible. If a combination is qualified for all 3 Championships, their Championship entries will be limited to the 2 higher level classes.

Refunds: The organiser reserves the right to amend the schedule.
A refund will be given if withdrawn prior to the closing date. Any withdrawals after the closing date and time will NOT be eligible for a refund. All refunds are subject to a 10% admin fee + £1.50 initial booking fee.
You can transfer your entry ONCE if 24 hours’ notice is given.
In the event that the venue cancels the event, full refunds will be given minus the £1.50 admin fee.
In the event that the venue reschedules the event, refunds will be given at the organiser’s discretion.
Withdrawals: - In the unfortunate event of withdrawal, please advise the secretary by 9am on the Monday prior to the competition.
We regret no refunds will be made once times are issued.
No transfers will be made after 9am on the preceding day.
Any objections or complaints MUST be done so through a legitimate complaints procedure. You must place a £10.00 deposit alongside your written complaint. This complaint will then be assessed by the executive committee. If your complaint is found to be legitimate, you will be refunded your £10.00.
General Rules
HATS must be worn whenever mounted and should be up to the current safety standard.
ONLY Jockey skull hats without a peak (greater than 5mm smooth and rounded in nature) may be worn for cross country. Hat silks may be worn with flexible peak. It must also comply with safety standards for hats.
BODY PROTECTORS A body protector is obligatory for all arena eventing and cross-country events and are also strongly recommended for all show jumping events. Body protectors should be fitted and worn as per the manufacturer’s instructions. If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector it must be worn over a permitted body protector and if activated, must be deflated or removed before continuing. Hybrid Air jackets and Helite Air Jackets are permitted. It is recommended that body protectors are replaced once they are more than 5 years old. Riders wearing Exo Body Cage protectors must inform the secretary at all events.
CORRECT dress & footwear with defined heels must be worn.
ALL horses and ponies must be four years old and over. ALL Riders to be 10 years old and over.
ENTRIES accepted at rider’s risk. SRC reserve the right to refuse an entry at their discretion, cancel, amend or amalgamate any class for any reason whatsoever. The Judge’s decision is final.
INSURANCE Each competitor must carry their own liability insurance whether Riding Club, Pony Club, BHS, BS, BD, BE or independent cover.
HEALTH & SAFETY The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards. Those attending this event must report any accidents to the secretary or organizer of the event
Please do not leave unattended horses tied to lorries and no hay nets to be tied to the outside of lorries or trailers.
Solihull Riding Club welcomes responsible dog owners. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
