Arrivals are welcome from 4pm-7pm on Saturday 5th September and from 2pm-7pm on Sunday 6th and Monday 7th September. STRICTLY no arrivals after 7pm

Overnight stables are available from 4pm on Saturday 5th September, and from 2pm on Sunday 6th and Monday 7th September. Stables must be vacated by 2pm on the departure date, or after the show has concluded if a stable booking has been made for evening of Monday 7th September.. Arrival and departure times may be flexed upon request depending upon stable availability.

If you wish to access your stable on the morning or your arrival and before the 2pm access time on Sunday 6th and Monday 7th September, you should pay for a day stable at a charge of £25 to cover the use of the stable from your arrival time.
STRICTLY No arrivals after 7pm.

Competitors must bring their own tools to the show.
The centre provides permanent stables at this show.

Some stables will be reserved to allocate on a priority basis to stallions or horses in need at the discretion of the event organiser. 

Stables should be left in the condition in which they are found, i.e. clear of droppings and dry.  Any stables which are not left in a suitable condition will incur a muck out fee which will be communicated and charged to the competitor upon inspection of vacated stables.
For biosecurity reasons we leave a basic bed in stables, banked up at the stable sides to allow competitors the option to use existing bedding for banks/bases, or to remove entirely if preferred.
Hay and shavings can be purchased on site during the show. 
Shavings can be purchased on site for £12 per bale. Shavings must be used in our permanent concrete and wooden stables. Competitors are welcome to bring their own shavings.

Hay can be purchased at a charge of £3 per haynet.

Hay and shavings can be purchased between the hours of 14.00-19.00 on Saturday 5th September, and from 08.00-17.00 on Sunday 6th, Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th September.

Taps are provided in stabling areas for filling water buckets. Bury Farm does not have a specific wash down area. We therefore request that competitors do not wash horses down in areas where competitor footfall is high to maintain suitable health and safety protocols. 

Stable pricing: £50 for one night, £80 for two nights, £100 for three nights. 

Hook Up
Hook up is available at £25 per night. This is payable with stabling entries.

A £15 stable deposit is charged per stable for any bookings made at the centre. This £15 charge is refundable when you vacate your stable at the end of your booking. The £15 deposit will be returned to you as soon as the stable manager confirms that your stable has been left in a suitable condition, i.e. clean, swept, dry and free from excess hay and droppings. The £15 will not be returned after you have left the show centre and so it is your responsibility to confirm your departure with the stable manager and to request your £15 deposit whilst at the centre. The deposit will only be returned to the person who is named on the booking form for the show. The stable manager retains the right to refuse the return of a stable deposit if the above conditions are not met.

Team Show Jumping and Team Dressage entries may be made via classes 43 and 60 of the show schedule

The Paddocks cafe will be open from Saturday 5th September for those arriving at the centre prior to the show.

It will be open throughout show hours providing hot and cold food, drinks and snacks/

Bar service will also be available from 6pm and some alcoholic drinks are available for sale from the cafe tills throughout cafe opening hours.

Competitors are reminded that, as the show centre is a licensed premises, only alcohol purchased on the premises may be consumed in the show centre environment.

**** TICKETS FOR THE EVENING GALA ON MONDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER ****

The Bury Farm team looks forward to welcoming UKAFEC, Police Sport UK and Blue Lights Competitors to the Centre for their Championship Show.

Tickets for the Monday evening dinner are available to purchase in the Sundry items on the booking form.

Competitors, friends, family and show officials are invited to purchase tickets for the Monday evening.

The evening will include demonstrations and freestyle to music gala classes in the International Indoor Arena..

Dinner comprises a Street-Food-style home cooked Chinese Buffet. Special Dietary Requirements will be catered for.

Bar service will be provided. For licensing reasons, guests are therefore not permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages into the show centre at any time.

Military personnel are invited to purchase tickets at £6 per head

Non-military personnel are invited to purhcase tickets at £12 per head

Military personnel should purchase Ticket 1, Non-Military personnel should purchase Ticket 2.

INTRODUCTION

1. Bury Farm Event Centre (BFEC) are running the UK Armed Forces Equestrian Championships (UKAFEC) 2026 incorporating the National Police Sport U.K. Equestrian Championships and the Blue Lights Horse Show. This is being supported by the UK Armed Forces Equestrian Association and Police Sport UK – TEAM Police. The show is organised in accordance with Joint Services Publication 660, the UK Equestrian National Governing Bodies (NGB) and Show Association rulebooks and UK Armed Forces Equestrian Association (UKAFEA) Competition Policy 2026.

2. The rules below are established so that competitors may compete against each other in competition under fair conditions. They can, however, never cover every eventuality. Matters that cannot be solved by interpreting the rules to the letter shall be resolved by the Event Officials following as nearly as possible the spirit of the text to obtain the solution that is fairest to all competitors.

AGREEMENT TO BE BOUND BY THE RULES

3. Every competitor, by the completion of their entry form, agrees to be bound by the Memorandum and Articles of UKAFEA, British Dressage and British Showjumping. Where applicable, relevant showing organisation guidelines and qualification criteria must be adhered to. It is the responsibility of all competitors to familiarise themselves with the rules of the UKAFEA, BS, BD, and relevant showing organisations, and take specific instructions from Bury Farm staff, judges and officials in addition to the UKAFEC Event Team.

LIABILITY

4. Neither the organisers of the event, staff of BFEC, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, accepts any liability for accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way. Therefore, it is the responsibility for every rider to have appropriate Public Liability and Personal Accident Insurance for not only themselves but the horses in their charge. This may be a policy held by the owner and thus it is the responsibility of the rider to ensure they are appropriately covered in the case of an accident/incident.

ENTRIES

7. The Schedule opens for entries on Tuesday 11th August 2026 and closes at noon on 3rd September 2026. Late Entries (if space allows) are subject to a £3 surcharge per class.

8. If entries are oversubscribed a Ballot, based on the priority groups, will take place at close of entries. Competitor times will be posted on the event link two days prior to the competition.

9. Should class entries exceed capacity, entries will be ballotted (see paragraph 14)

10. Class entries are to be made in advance on the Online Entry System - My Riding Life. Payment is secure and goes directly to BFEC. Competitors will receive an email confirmation of their class entry and payment. No entries will be accepted without payment. Manual entries by exception may be made directly with BFEC by the deadlines mentioned in para 7 and 8 above.

11. Competitors are required to contribute towards First Aid cover at £2.50 per rider per day through the My Riding Life entry process.

12. Entries will not be accepted after the closing date unless space allows. Once submitted entries may be changed prior to the times being published by contacting enquiries@buryfarmestates.co.uk with details of the changes required.

13. Once the times have been published entries may still be amended but only if a horse and/or rider can be substituted into the class and time on the published class schedule. ENTRIES CANNOT BE CHANGED AT THE VENUE ON THE DAY OF COMPETITION.

RIDER ELIGIBILITY

14. To compete at UKAFEC riders must meet the criteria of one of the following categories. (Categories will be assessed by priority if a ballot is needed in the event of classes being over-subscribed; equally the appropriate % proportion ballot will be applied to the non-military groupings to reflecting the fact that UKAFEC is primarily a military championship). As part of the entry process competitors MUST declare themselves in a category from the below. (Those who fail to declare this risk having their entry rejected).

a. Category 1: Serving Regular and Reserve UK Armed Forces personnel (including foreign military personnel serving in UK units). Serving uniformed Police personnel (including Special Constables and PCSOs). (Military personnel will hold ‘on-duty’ status when competing in SJ, Dr or CT classes but not whilst Showing as this is not currently a recognised Sport iaw JSP 660. Single Service Admin Instructions will cover this detail and confirm eligibility of their competitors to compete in uniform).

b. Category 2: Other Blue Lights community from the Emergency Services and Protective Services. Proportionally no more than 20% of the total entries will be from the Emergency Services unless capacity allows.

c. Category 3: Member of the MOD Civil Service, Recognised Cadet Force (over the age of 16) or Police Support Staff (PSS.) Proportionally not more than 10% of the total entries.

d. Category 4: Veteran Armed Forces or Police Personnel. Proportionally not more than 5% of the total entries

e. Category 5: Immediate family (over the age of 16 for dressage/jumping classes) of those in Category 1 including police staff or associate members of Police Sport UK Force Sports Clubs. Including members of a Military Saddle Club recognised by single Service Equestrian Associations or Police Equestrian section. Proportionally not more than 5% of the total entries.

f. Category 6. Restricted for Showing Classes only. Any person who does not fall into the above categories.

My Riding Life will list entries on the relevant website after the opening date but this does not constitute acceptance. No entries will be confirmed before the Ballot Date if applicable.

15. Police Sport UK and Blue Lights Horse Show require riders to provide detail on class additional information notes of the force or service they represent, staff or collar numbers, and whether they are warranted officers or support staff employees. This information is required to support entry validation checks where necessary. It is a condition of entry that riders agree entry information may be used for the purpose of identification checks with stated represented forces or other services organisations. Also where necessary to support proportionate and legitimate inquiries into conduct related matters.

16. If a class is oversubscribed at the closing date a ballot will take place:

a. At 12 noon on the closing date the Show Secretary will close all oversubscribed classes to further entries and will wait-list or ballot out surplus entries in accordance with the Category of riders at Para 14.

b. No entry will be wait-listed who has stated with their entry that they do not want to be wait-listed.

c. Balloted entries which are not wait-listed will receive full refunds.

17. At Ballot Date the Show Secretary:

a. Will accept all entries already received at that stage, subject to their power to ensure there is balance of competitors applying the % rules described in para 14.

b. Will notify competitors of acceptance of their entry by email or on the Event/entries website.

c. May continue to accept entries for all or some classes not fully subscribed.

d. May run a wait list for sections which reach their limit. (Wait-listed entries who withdraw from the wait list before their entry is accepted will receive a full refund). Wait-listed entries will be notified when their entry has been accepted and once accepted, are subject to the same withdrawal rules as accepted entries.

WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS

18. Full refunds (less admin fee) will be given in the following circumstances:

a. Entries received by the Show Secretary (online or manual) may be cancelled in writing/email prior to the closing date and will be refunded entry fees less any administrative charges by the Third Party, My Riding Life.

b. Where entries are not accepted due to riders failing to provide all services information for their section, refunds will be given less an administrative fee.

19. Entries received by the Secretary may be cancelled in writing prior to the Closing Date and will be refunded entry fees less a £10 admin fee and less any administrative charges by the Third Party My Riding Life.

Online entries cancelled writing after 12pm, Wednesday 2nd September, and before the start of the show, supported by documentation demonstrating that service needs/illness have prevented attendance, or a valid veterinary certificate will be repaid 40% of the entry fees less any administrative charges by the Third Party My Riding Life.

Stabling and hook up refunds also fall within the remit of the above rules.

20. Stabling refunds also fall within the remit of the above rules. Any unresolved (stable or class) refunds are to be brought to the attention of the UKAFEC Event Team within 3 months of the completion of the show.

ARRIVALS

21. Competitors will be met by a member of the team at the entrance to the lorry park whereupon they will need to provide identification upon arrival at the centre. NO PERSON MAY ENTER THE SHOW GROUND IF THEIR DETAILS HAVE NOT BEEN PROVIDED ON THE ONLINE ENTRY FORM (or given manually via the UKAFEC military Event Team). In line with BFEC biosecurity measures competitors are to have equine passports ready for inspection. Spot checks will be made and the organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to competitors who are not able to provide identity and vaccination details prior to entry to the show ground.

22. Competitors will be directed to an allocated parking space. Please note that cars may be parked in a separate part of the show ground to lorries.

23. Arrival and departure times may be flexed upon consultation with the on-site stable managers depending upon stable availability.

24. Stable hire does not normally commence until 3pm each day but exceptionally competitors may arrive with horses as follows: Stables are available from 4pm on 5th September, and from 3pm on 6th & 7th September. Stables must be vacated by 6pm on 8th September. Any earlier / later arrivals/departures must be cleared with the Show Secretary.

25. STRICTLY No arrivals after 7pm. Please call 07568 395548 in the event of emergency and an exceptional late arrival. Please be considerate of fellow competitors, local residents and the show team by adhering to the pre-7pm arrival time.

ARENAS

26. Classes and warm-ups will be run in the Bury Farm International Indoor 62 x 35m Arena, in three 40 x 20m indoor dressage arenas, in the Outdoor 60x50m sand surface, and in the Legacy 90x60m Competition Arena.

27. Competitors will be provided with surface arenas for warm up prior to their class times. No member of the public may attend the warm-up spaces on foot. Restrictions to the warm-up arenas (Jumping only, Dressage only) will be clearly signposted and are to be strictly adhered to. Stewards will control the use of the arenas and competitors may be asked to vacate if the numbers warming-up exceed capacity and therefore create unsafe conditions. Competitors take precedence in warm-up arenas over those who wish to exercise horses outside of their competition time. Competitors must comply with any directions of the ring stewards.

28. A collecting ring steward will call each competitor to the Competition Arena at their allotted time. The competitor must enter and leave the arena via the designated entrance and exit as directed by the collecting ring steward.

29. Dressage competitors will be given an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the arena at a defined time which will be overseen by a steward. Bridle numbers should be worn if taking part in the arena walk. Competition dress is not required but appropriate safety equipment must be worn to comply with British safety standards.

30. Access to the Centre’s hacking tracks is also permitted throughout the show, weather and daylight permitting. (Please respect competitors by avoiding the track that runs adjacent to the Legacy competition arena during show hours.)

STABLING, FODDER, BEDDING AND HOOK-UP

31. There are 80 permanent stables on site. Stabling, electric hook-up, shavings and haylage are to be booked through My Riding Life by selecting the Service needed. A refundable deposit of £15 is paid with stabling entries and will be returned to the card with which the competitor has submitted payment within 14 working days of the end of the competition, providing that the stable is left clean and dry upon departure. No mucking out equipment will be made available. Fees: £50 for one night, £80 for two nights, £100 for three nights.

Day stables may be booked @£25 per day only if overnight stables are not booked to capacity.

32. In line with biosecurity protocols competitors are to bank up any bedding left in stables.

33. Hook-up may also be booked online: £25 per night. There is no guarantee of available hook up at the centre if it has not been booked at least one week in advance of the show

34. Hay can be purchased on site during the show. Shavings can be purchased online when making your stable booking or can be purchased on site for £12 per bale. Competitors are welcome to bring their own shavings.

RESULTS AND PRIZEGIVING

35. Class results will be published online and regularly updated on the reception noticeboards throughout the show.

36. Rosettes will be awarded to 6th place (unless otherwise stated in the class detail). There will be prizes in kind for SJ, Dr and CT Classes at the discretion of the Class Sponsor. 1st and 2nd placings from In-Hand and Ridden Showing classes will be invited to participate in the Supreme Championships which will attract prizes too. Competitors are expected to participate in prizegiving presentations or make prior arrangements to be represented. Prizegiving presentations for Showjumping classes will be mounted on completion of the class. Prizegiving presentations for Dressage and Combined Training classes will be mounted at pre-determined timings during the show. Showing class individual placings will be awarded in the ring prior to the commencement of the next class. Showing Championships presentations will be held in the main International Indoor Arena at pre-determined timings. Championship Awards at the end of the show will in most cases be dismounted. Non-attendance at Prizegiving will forfeit the award of prizes.

37. Official photographs of prize winners will be taken and used for PR purposes - anyone not wishing their photo and name to be used in UKAFEA PR material is to make this known to the UKAFEC Event Team’s Media Lead.

OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHER

38. Photographic coverage of the event will be provided by SBM Photographic who will be present on-site enabling competitors to review their photographs and purchase in person. Their website can be reviewed at https://www.sbmphotographic.co.uk.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND SECURITY

39. A UKAFEC Safety Management Plan, incorporating BFEC risk assessments and safety protocols with additional MOD actions will be run by the UKAFEC Safety Manager and the BFEC Event Manager.

40. Any near misses or incidents/accidents (i.e., fall of horse or rider) during the show are to be reported to the BFEC Event Manager in the first instance for immediate action, but also to the UKAFEC Safety Manager to record and investigate as necessary.

RESTRICTIONS

41. All Showjumping classes are open to all. Restrictions apply to the LIHS Qualifier, class 70.

In accordance with UKAFEA 2025 Competition Policy uniformed Regular and Reserve competitors and warranted Police officers are eligible to accrue points for qualification to compete in the Services SJ final at the London International Horse Show. Competitors may enter this class in the Restricted section if they do not wish to qualify and/or are ineligible for the Services SJ final at the LIHS. Competitors who wish to qualify for the Services SJ final at the LIHS should enter the Open section.

42. All Dressage combinations must be classed as “BD Silver” or "BD Bronze" at the level wishing to ride at in accordance with the BD Handbook. Any combination who has 25 or more BD points at the level above, or 3 or more points at 2 levels above, must compete at the next level above. Combinations who have 3 or more scores at 72% or above, at any unaffiliated competition, including at military championships in the last 2 years, must compete at the next level above. Any combination who has qualified for and ridden at the National Championships (BD or BRC) in the last 2 years, must compete at the next level above if they achieved 70% plus (at the level below). Applications for Exemptions to eligibility may be considered on an exceptional basis (for military personnel this is to be through sS Team Managers) to the BFEC Show Secretary with the details of any case that has convincing justification. Restrictions do not apply to combined training classes 34-37.

HORSE ELIGIBILITY

43. Horses/ponies:

a. Must be a minimum of 4 years old for Combined Training, Showjumping and Dressage classes as per relevant NGB regulations.

b. May be competed by more than one rider during the show however, the horse may only compete once per class unless the second rider is competing HC.

c. Will not be accepted in more than 4 classes (SJ and/or Dr) per day. Combined Training Classes equate to 2 classes due to having 2 phases.

HORS CONCURS (HC)

44. A horse or rider may be allowed to take part in a class ‘Hors Concours’ (HC - non-competitively) subject to the following conditions:

a. Payment of the entry fee plus an additional £2 charge.

b. No prize money, qualification or placing may be won.

c. The rider is subject to the Rules as if they were a competitor i.e. must follow the set track and leave the arena if eliminated. Applications for exemptions may be made in writing to the BFEC Show Secretary by no later than the close of entries (for military personnel this is to be through SS Team Managers).

d. For showjumping, may do so once in the first round of the competition only and is not to participate in the jump off other than the jump off section of a single phase or two-phase competition.

e. A horse or pony that has competed HC is not allowed to compete for prizes in the same arena on the same day.

WELFARE OF THE HORSE

45. The UKAFEA adopts the FEI Code of Conduct for the Welfare of the Horse in all respects and fully supports the British Equestrian Federation’s Charter of the Horse to maintain standards in competition. The expectation is that when mounted or non-mounted the welfare of the horse is paramount and requires competitors and supporters to always adhere to the principles of good horsemanship. All those involved in the show, in arenas or on the showground, are to adhere to the Code of Conduct and the welfare of the horse must never be subordinated to competitive or commercial influences.

STALLIONS

46. Stallions are permitted at the show centre. Stallion disks and white ribbons are to be clearly displayed at all times. When led in-hand an appropriate chain is to be fitted. It is the responsibility of the owner, lessee, Authorised Agent, or rider to take adequate precautions to ensure other horses/ponies, competitors and members of the public are not put at risk of injury.

NUMBERS / BRIDLE NUMBERS

47. Competitors are to supply their own bridle numbers. Horses must have their allocated bridle number on them at all times when not in the stable/transport attached to bridle/saddle cloth/rug/head collar. When competing, competitors are to wear 2 numbers (as per NGB rules). The number on the horse must match the rider’s entry when it presents to the Steward.

Competitors are requested to wear bridle numbers for the Loriners Services Classes, 48 & 60.

UNDER 18 COMPETITORS

48. Anyone under the age of 18 attending the competition, in any capacity, must be accompanied by an allocated responsible adult at all times. If a responsible adult is not an immediate family member, or legally appointed guardian, the responsible adult shall be notified to the Secretary in the Notes of their entry. For Service personnel this will be the single Service Team Manager. All guardians are also to read and abide by the regulations as detailed in this instruction.

COMPETITION DRESS

49. Serving competitors. Any exception must be agreed with the UKAFEA Events Director prior to the class commencing. Below are the expected dress standards for Showjumping, Dressage and Combined Training classes but in the event of extreme weather short sleeve order or (suitable uniformed) wet weather attire may be declared:

a. Royal Navy. No 1 Service Dress, black or navy jodhpurs. Foul weather jackets in the event of inclement weather.

b. Army. In order of priority, as appropriate to service orders of dress/personal issue and weather conditions;
(a) No 2 or Service Dress, issue or beige jodhpurs, full length boots
(b) Jumper order
(c) Combat jackets

c. Royal Air Force. No 1 Jacket, beige jodhpurs and black boots.

d. Emergency Services. Equivalent uniform to military personnel or civilian attire as appropriate. (Attire for showing in Concours D’Elegance is as described in the Class info and in para 51 below).

50. Non-serving competitors. Civilian attire is to conform to current NGB or show association (for affiliated showing) rules . Any exception must be agreed with the Show Secretary prior to the class commencing.

51. Concours D’Elegance. Ridden competitors aged under 18 years must wear appropriate head gear to the current safety standard. Competitors aged 18 years and over can elect to wear head gear in-keeping with period costume but are only permitted to do so if a Disclaimer form has been completed and signed at the Show Secretary’s office PRIOR to any mounted warm up or commencement of the class.

OBJECTIONS

52. Any objections on the ruling of a judge are to be lodged in writing to the Show Secretary within half an hour of any incident, together with a deposit of £25. An Objections Panel will consider the objections and should the issue in question be overruled the deposit will be forfeited. The Objections Panel will consist of:

a. Centre Manager
b. Show Secretary
c. At least 1 member of the UKAFEC Event Team as appropriate.

53. Objections for the Inter-Services Leg and London International Horse Show Qualifier will be as per the UKAFEA specific rules laid down in the UKAFEA Competition Policy, which also gives guidance on any disciplinary action that can be taken as a result of the action of a military attendee.

FACILITIES

54. Tented Camping is permitted by prior arrangement and a pitch can be booked by e-mailing enquiries@buryfarmestates.co.uk. STRICTLY NO BBQs OR FIRES are to be lit on site - this will be monitored.

55. Catering. The onsite cafe will be open during the event (up to 1 hour before competition and during competition hours.) They will provide a service on the days of competition throughout show hours providing hot and cold food, drinks and snacks in line with current national social distancing parameters. The licensed bar will be open in the evenings during the show. Competitors are reminded that only food and alcohol purchased on the premises may be consumed inside the show centre and outdoor seating areas

56. Ablutions. Showers and Ablutions are available in the Stable Block and main building. Chemical toilets are not to be emptied on site.

57. Silent Hours. Due to the proximity of BFEC to adjacent housing the silent hours will be between 2200 and 0700. During this time noise and potential disturbance (including generators and movement) are to be kept to a minimum.

BIOSECURITY MEASURES

58. All horses must be travelled with passports which can demonstrate that all vaccinations are up to date. Please ensure that your vaccination record complies with the event organiser's vaccination policy. Horses must also show no clinical signs of the following when attending the centre:

a. recent cough of unknown cause
b. recent nasal discharge of unknown cause
c. enlarged lymph nodes
d. fever (>38.5 degrees)
e. recent onset of neurological signs of unknown cause
f. diarrhoea

Horses must also:
a. not be under current investigation for EHV infection.
b. have not been in contact with and is not kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for EHV.
c. have not travelled out of the country for the past 28 days. Horses should NOT be brought to the centre if they are not in good health on the date of travel.

59. Equine Influenza vaccination requirements reflect BS and BD rules:
a. An initial course of two injections for primary vaccination, not less than 21 days and not more than 92 days apart, are required before being eligible to compete.
b. A first booster injection must be given between 150 and 215 days after the second injection of primary vaccination.
c. Subsequent booster injections must be given at regular intervals of not more than 12 months, commencing after the first booster injection.
d. The most recent booster injection must have been given within twelve calendar months +21 days prior to the horse competing.
e. The full course or booster must have been administered at least seven days before arriving at the competition. Horses found without adequate and up to date vaccinations will not be allowed to compete and will be asked to leave the showground.

BURY FARM EQUESTRIAN CENTRE’S TERMS & CONDITIONS

60. The decision of the judges and stewards in all cases is final. They reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any part of the competition or to refuse any entry without stating a reason.

61. The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.

62. The organisers will not be held responsible and accept no liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, rider, spectators, vehicles or their contents and accessories, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify against any legal action arising from such incident.

63. Horses & ponies tied to lorry or trailers must not be left unattended. Please ensure the area around horseboxes / trailers is kept clean and tidy. Droppings are to be collected and deposited in the muck heap not swept onto BFEC verges. Please take litter home or use the bins provided.

64. Whilst outside arenas, horses and ponies should be moved at a walk only.

65. There is a vet on call. The expense of any veterinary services rendered either on, or after, the show must be borne by the competitor or owner of the horse / pony.

66. No dogs allowed indoors, other than in the Lorry Park Only and MUST be on a lead at all times

67. All saddlery and equipment must adhere to BS and/or BD rules and relevant showing society rules as appropriate to the class.

68. Competitors may not access the livery facilities during their visit to the centre.

SPECIAL CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES

69. Team Events. In addition to the Loriners Inter-Service Team leg there will be the following Team competitions kindly sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Saddlers on Monday. These will be for teams of 3 that must be declared in advance. Teams must be declared to the Bury Farm secretaries by 4pm on Sunday 6th September.

a. Team Showjumping will be run over classes 44-51, excluding class 48 (Loriners), and will be judged on a Team whose declared 3 (different) horse and rider combinations achieve the lowest cumulative faults. Each combination must jump in a different height class. In the event of a draw on faults the final positions will be separated by jump off times. Please enter class 43 (free to enter) to submit show jumping team details.

b. Team Dressage will be run over classes 54-59 excluding class 60 (Loriners), and will be judged on highest % Dr scores by the declared 3 (different) horse and rider combinations are to form the team with each combination riding a test at a different BD level. In the event of a draw on % the final positions will be separated by Collective scores. Please enter class 53 (free to enter) to submit dressage team details.

70. Freestyle to Music (FSM) League. 2026 is the inaugural year that UKAFEA will run a FSM series for uniformed (military, Blue Lights/Emergency Services) competitors at Novice up to and including Advanced Medium levels. All riders must be eligible to compete in unform for their respective Service. Combinations must be eligible for BD Bronze or Silver sections at the level they enter. Horses or riders with no BD record will be expected to enter the class at an appropriate level, in keeping with the spirit of the competition. This will be run in accordance with BD rules including the compulsory or prohibited movements for each level. Full details on the FSM League are in the extant UKAFEA Competition Policy (available on request from the Show Secretary). All BD levels will be combined to form one class.

INDIVIDUAL (HORSE AND RIDER COMBINATIONS) CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS

71. Top Showjumping and Dressage awards. In recognition of significantly consistent performances across 3 days of competition the following awards will be presented at the end of show:

72. Performance criteria:
a. Dressage. The combination who places consistently highly in their 3 best scoring Dressage tests (%) (including Inter-Service Leg) at the same level. (In the event of a tie the combination with the highest number of Collective marks over their best Test will differentiate).
b. Showjumping. The combination whose SJ results accruing the highest number of points using the table below. Additional points are awarded for double clears. (In the event of a tie the greatest time difference between the combination’s best placed result and their next highest placed competitor in that class will differentiate.)
c. Queen Elizabeth Cup. This will be awarded to the Uniformed Services horse/rider combination who across Showing, Showjumping and Dressage classes has been consistently placed (top 3 positions in each discipline) to accrue the most points using table below.

d. Police Sport UK and Protective Services Perpetual Shields. These will be awarded to the Police (Warranted or Volunteer), NHS, Fire and Rescue or Prison Service same horse/rider combination who on aggregate scoring, based on points to placings (see below) conversion across all disciplines/classes during the Festival scores the highest total overall

73. Worshipful Company of Saddlers (WCS) Equine Fit Awards. A judge from the Worshipful Company of Saddlers will be in attendance on Monday 7 September to assess horse’s tack - bits, bridles and saddles. This is a new, free, educational initiative the Company has been running and competitors can declare their horse for assessment on an opportunity basis by booking a fit with the Equine Fit representatives at their stand. The stand will be located outside the front of the International Show Centre building. Riders will receive a verbal assessment on the tack’s fitting for both safety and comfort, along with guidance on any adjustments to consider. At the end of the day the WCS will present a Headcollar and winning rosette to the horse and rider combination with the best fitting tack.

74. Demonstrations. There will be equine demonstrations in the International Arena on Monday evening. These are free and all on site are encouraged to attend. Further details will be confirmed when entries have closed

75. Monday Gala Evening. The UKAFEA FSM series will take place Monday evening followed by Prizegiving Presentations for FSM, Team SJ & Team Dr. A themed Dinner will take place during the evening - all competitors and ground supporters are invited to attend, and tickets must be purchased for this on My Riding Life by 6pm Saturday 5th September.

76. Charitable Donations. Blue Lights Horse Shows continue to support the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund as part of its charitable giving ethos. Blue Lights Horse Shows extend their grateful thanks to the hosting venue and for any charitable donations the venue can make.
