Closing Date: Entries will close 12th September 2025 at 9am prompt. Late entries ONLY if there is space permitting, must be received in WRITING to office@solihullridingclub.co.uk and will be charged additional £5 per entry. The Combined Challenge will test the ability and timing of a horse and rider to negotiate a show jumping course followed by a cross-country course – this competition will all be run in a grass arena. Competitors will start inside of a start box (simple enclosure with an open front marked with a red and white flag), the judge will sound the bell, and competitors will commence onto the course from the start box and through the timing equipment. The show jumping course will consist of a minimum of 6 show jumps, including at least one double and include a proportion with fillers (brushes, walls, etc.). The cross-country course will consist of a minimum of 6 jumping efforts of solid cross country jumps and be inclusive of a water jump.
Dress Code: Cross country attire for both phases. Body protectors and helmets WITHOUT a fixed peak must be worn by all riders. Riders are NOT permitted to wear a stopwatch. Number bibs should be printed at home and MUST be worn at all times when mounted.

Entries in advance only - online entries. You can enter using our Secure Online Entry System. Payment is secure and it goes directly to Solihull Riding Club. You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment.
Entry Fees: £35.00
Refunds: The organiser reserves the right to amend the schedule. A refund will be given if withdrawn prior to the closing date. Any withdrawals after the closing date and time will NOT be eligible for a refund. All refunds are subject to a 10% admin fee + £1.50 initial booking fee. You can transfer your entry ONCE if 24 hours’ notice is given. In the event that the venue cancels the event, full refunds will be given minus the £1.50 admin fee. In the event that the venue reschedules the event, refunds will be given at the organiser’s discretion.
General rules: This competition will run in conjunction with BRC Rules, anyone in attendance will be bound by the SRC and BRC Code of Conduct. It is important that all competitors are aware of the rules relating to this competition – please see the current BRC Handbook and also the BRC Rule Amendments and Changes Document which can be found at the link below: https://www.bhs.org.uk/british-riding-clubs/brc-downloads/brc-handbook/ SRC regulations can be found https://solihullridingclub.co.uk/regulations/ Telephone entries will no longer be taken - all entries should be made online at www.solihullridingclub.co.uk/events Withdrawals: - In the unfortunate event of withdrawal, please advise the secretary by 9am on the Monday prior to the competition. We regret no refunds will be made once times are issued. No transfers will be made after 9am on the preceding day. Times: Will be available online after 5.00pm 2 days prior to the event. at www.solihullridingclub.co.uk/times Any special requests must be clearly put onto entry. Horses may only enter once in each class competitively. Any objections or complaints MUST be done so through a legitimate complaints procedure. You must place a £10.00 deposit alongside your written complaint. This complaint will then be assessed by the executive committee. If your complaint is found to be legitimate, you will be refunded your £10.00. HATS must be worn whenever mounted and should be up to the current safety standard. ONLY Jockey skull hats without a peak (greater than 5mm smooth and rounded in nature) may be worn for cross country. Hat silks may be worn with flexible peak. It must also comply with safety standards for hats. BODY PROTECTORS A body protector is obligatory for all arena eventing and cross-country events and are also strongly recommended for all show jumping events. Body protectors should be fitted and worn as per the manufacturer’s instructions. If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector it must be worn over a permitted body protector and if activated, must be deflated or removed before continuing. Hybrid Air jackets and Helite Air Jackets are permitted. It is recommended that body protectors are replaced once they are more than 5 years old. Riders wearing Exo Body Cage protectors must inform the secretary at all events. PADDED BATON - One whip is permitted and MUST be between 45cm and 75cm and must not be weighted or with a hard point at the end. The end of the whip must be padded. The ‘pad’ must be smooth with no protrusion or raised surface (which includes embroidery) and be made of a shock absorbing material throughout its circumference CORRECT dress & footwear with defined heels must be worn. ALL horses and ponies must be four years old and over. ALL Riders to be 8 years old and over. ENTRIES accepted at rider’s risk. SRC reserve the right to refuse an entry at their discretion, cancel, amend or amalgamate any class for any reason whatsoever. The Judge’s decision is final. INSURANCE Each competitor must carry their own liability insurance whether Riding Club, Pony Club, BHS, BS, BD, BE or independent cover. HEALTH & SAFETY The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards. Those attending this event must report any accidents to the secretary or organizer of the event Please do not leave unattended horses tied to lorries and no hay nets to be tied to the outside of lorries or trailers. Solihull Riding Club welcomes responsible dog owners. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY save for the death or injury caused by the negligence of the organisers of the event, no liability is accepted for any accident, loss or damage, injury or illness to horses, ponies, owners, riders, spectators, vehicles their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any way whatsoever. The organiser reserves the right to amend the schedule.
