Dressage - All tests are British Dressage. Dresage tests can be called, and whips can be carried. Grass reins will be allowed at our discreation.

Showjumping - If you are eliminated (3 refusals or run outs) you may be allowed to complete the showjumping course and at the discretion of the Showjumping judge you may be allowed to continue on to XC.

Cross country - If you are eliminated (3 refusals or run outs) you will maybe allowed to continue at the discretion of the XC judge.

 

The correct attire is to be worn for each phase. Stop watches are now allowed.

Withdrawals/Refunds

 ENTRIES CLOSE: All entries close Thursday 2nd October at 9am

After the closing date, no refunds will be issued unless medical / vet certificates are provided. THESE RULES WILL BE STRITCTLY ADHERED TO AND NO REFUND OF ENTRY WILL BE MADE. All refunds are subject to a 10% admin fee + £1.50 initial booking fee. You can transfer your entry ONCE if 24 hours’ notice is given. In the event that the venue cancels the event, full refunds will be given minus the £1.50 admin fee. In the event that the venue reschedules the event, refunds will be given at the organiser’s discretion. In the event of Solihull Riding Club having to reschedule, abandon only partial refunds shall be given. If Solihull Riding Club alter the competition structure, no refunds shall be given.

Terms & Conditions

HAT STANDARDS - HATS must be worn whenever mounted and conform to; the most current standard ONLY Jockey skull hats without a peak may be worn for cross country. Hat silks may be worn with flexible peak. It must also comply with the above safety standards for hats. BODY PROTECTORS A body with the most current standard, is obligatory for all arena eventing and cross-country events and are also strongly recommended for all show jumping events. Please make sure your body proctor is fitted and worn as per the manufacturer’s instructions. If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector it must be worn over a permitted body protector and if activated, must be deflated or removed before continuing. Hybrid Air jackets and Helite Air Jackets are permitted. It is recommended that body protectors are replaced once they are more than 5 years old. Riders wearing Exo Body Cage protectors must inform the secretary at all events. Back protectors must be presented to the official steward for checking when declaring. The use of HEAD CAMS are strictly prohibited. This includes use on the head, chest, bridle or any other part of the horse or rider. Medical armbands are advised but not compulsory and must be worn on the arm & filled out with up-to-date information. CORRECT dress & footwear with defined heels must be worn. Long hair is to be suitably tied up. ALL horses and ponies must be five years old and over. ALL Riders to be 8 years old and over. ENTRIES accepted at rider’s risk. SRC reserve the right to refuse an entry at their discretion, cancel, amend or amalgamate any class for any reason whatsoever. The Judge’s decision is final. INSURANCE Each competitor must carry their own liability insurance whether Riding Club, Pony Club, BHS, BS, BD, BE or independent cover. HEALTH & SAFETY The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards. Those attending this event must report any accidents to the secretary or organizer of the event Please do not leave unattended horses tied to lorries and no hay nets to be tied to the outside of lorries or trailers. Solihull Riding Club welcomes responsible dog owners. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. COMPETITION RULES:

2. Showjumping Rules; -  If you are eliminated (3 refusals or run outs) you may be allowed to complete the showjumping course and at the discretion of the Showjumping judge you may be allowed to continue on to XC.

3. Cross Country Rules: - If you are eliminated (3 refusals or run outs) you may be allowed to continue at the discretion of the XC judge.Cross Country will be timed. The time will be set on the day based off the course. Optimal times will be visible on the course maps on the day. There will be an optimum time for the cross-country course. Competitors will incur time penalties for any time over the optimum time given. Competitors will also incur time penalties once they have elapsed 15 seconds under the optimum time. Every second commenced after the time allowed has elapsed will incur 0.4-time penalty.

4. The correct attire should be worn for all phases. Stop watches are not allowed.

5. Tack Rules. - The following are not allowed for dressage – Martingales, boots and bandages, bit guards, side reins or draw reins. . Grass reins are permitted at our discretion.

6. Objections to be made in writing to the Organisers, accompanied by a deposit of £10, which will be refunded if the objection is upheld.

7. No entrant shall be entitled to the return of any entry fee after closing date other than on production of the appropriate Veterinary or Medical Certificate and at the organisers’ discretion.

8. In the event of a tie for individual placings the collective marks shall be added together and the rider with the highest total shall take the higher place.

PHOTOGRAPHIC RIGHTS – Competitors (and their parents/guardians if under 18yo) and or attendees/spectators/volunteers have given permission for any photographic and/or film or video footage taken of persons or horses/ponies taking part in this event to be used and published in any media whatsoever for editorial purposes, press information or advertising by or on behalf of the organiser of the event, the venue, Top Shots Photography, or Official Sponsors of the venue or event.

SRC RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ELIMINATE ANYONE NOT ABIDING BY THESE RULES

q  Telephone entries will no longer be taken - all entries should be made online at www.solihullridingclub.co.uk/events

q  Withdrawals: - In the unfortunate event of withdrawal, please advise the secretary by 9am on the Monday prior to the competition.

q  We regret no refunds will be made once times are issued.

q  No transfers will be made after 9am on the preceding day.

q  Times: Will be available online after 5.00pm 48 hours prior to the event. at www.solihullridingclub.co.uk/times

q  Any special requests must be clearly put onto entry.

q  Horses may only enter once in each class competitively.

q  Any objections or complaints MUST be done so through a legitimate complaints procedure. You must place a £10.00 deposit alongside your written complaint. This complaint will then be assessed by the executive committee. If your complaint is found to be legitimate, you will be refunded your £10.00.

q  PADDED BATON - One whip is permitted and MUST be between 45cm and 75cm and must not be weighted or with a hard point at the end. The end of the whip must be padded. The ‘pad’ must be smooth with no protrusion or raised surface (which includes embroidery) and be made of a shock absorbing material throughout its circumference

 

q  CORRECT dress & footwear with defined heels must be worn.
