Section 1
MA – the horse and handler will be required to trot along a measured corridor (50M) as
slowly as possible and return at walk as fast as possible. Stepping outside the marked
corridor or break of pace results in a zero score.
Section 2
PTV – there will 10 obstacles to negotiate judged on obedience and willingness. A maximum
of 10 points will be awarded for each obstacle. Obstacles can be omitted by letting the judge
know in advance but it will result in a zero score for that particular obstacle.
Class 2 Newcomers Ridden
Section 1
MA – the horse will be required to trot along a measured corridor (50M) as slowly as possible
and return at walk as fast as possible. Stepping outside the marked corridor or break of
pace results in a zero score
Section 2
PTV – there will 10 obstacles to negotiate judged on obedience and willingness. A maximum
of 10 points will be awarded for each obstacle. Obstacles can be omitted by letting the judge

Class 3 Open Ridden
Section 1 –
MA – the horse will be required to canter along a measured corridor (75M) as slowly as
possible and return at walk as fast as possible. Stepping outside the marked corridor or
break of pace results in a zero score
Section 2
PTV – there will 12 obstacles to negotiate judged on obedience and willingness. A maximum
of 10 points will be awarded for each obstacle. 2 Obstacles are more advanced - a bank
and a water splash. Obstacles can be omitted by letting the judge know in advance but it will
result in a zero score for that particular obstacle.
Class 4 – Pairs
Section 1
MA – the first rider/horse will be required to walk along a measured corridor (75M) as fast as
possible. Stepping outside the marked corridor or break of pace results in a zero scoreThe second rider/horse will be required to canter along a measured corridor (75M) as slowly

Section 2
PTV – The first rider/ horse will be required to ride the first 6 obstacles numbers 1-6 judged
on obedience and willingness. A maximum of 10 points will be awarded for each obstacle.

score for that particular obstacle.
The second rider/horse will be required to ride 6 obstacles numbers 7-12 judged on
obedience and willingness. A maximum of 10 points will be awarded for each obstacle.

Which rider rides first or second can be decided on the day when the course has been
viewed.

Please note that the entrance to the venue is through the FIRST gate on the left hand
side before you reach the farm proper – it will be signposted. Please do not use the
second gate during the day.
REGULATIONS
1. The decision of the judge is final.
2. Objections must be made in writing within 15 minutes of the incident, accompanied by
a deposit of £20, which will be returned if the objection is upheld.
3. Neither the organisers nor the owners of the venue accept liability for any claims in
respect of injury or damage to any person, animal or property, howsoever caused.
4. The organisers reserve the right to change judges or appoint substitutes and to amend
the schedule as necessary.
5. The organisers reserve the right to reject or cancel any entry made by any persons or
cancel any class (refunding all fees paid).
6. Entries via MRL only.
7. No entries will be refunded without a Veterinary Surgeon’s or Doctor’s certificate.
8. DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES
9. A riding or skull cap must be BRC approved, with chinstrap properly adjusted and
fastened, must be worn for any class. Suitable foot wear must be worn. Backprotectors in ridden classes are advised. Use of spurs or whips will incur elimination.
On blatant use of bad language, a competitor will be asked to leave the showground.
10. All competitors must act in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
11. WSRC Health and Safety Policy is reproduced in this Schedule.
12. In the event of the show being cancelled, entry fees will be returned (less £2 per
competitor to cover administration expenses).
13. All horses and ponies must be over four years of age.
Health and Safety Policy for WSRC Versatile Horse Competition
1. The organiser has overall responsibility for Health and Safety.
2. The event is organised in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation, and all who
have, to any extent, control of the premises, or site at the event, are responsible for
ensuring that:
everything reasonably practicable is done to ensure health, safety and welfare of
those attending the event.
they conduct themselves so that they do not put themselves or anyone else at risk.
the access to and egress from the site is safe and unobstructed.
3. Emergencies
Emergency services must have access to all parts of the event site at all times, and
members of the public must not park vehicles so as to obstruct access.
First aid points are clearly marked.
In the case of an emergency, members of the public should contact the nearest
official or dial 999 on the nearest telephone. A mobile phone will be located with the
Show Secretary on the day.
4. Horses
Horses can be easily frightened and can be dangerous. Members of the public are
requested to keep clear from horse areas and to avoid behaviour that might alarm
