The first round consists of four single obstacles including the triple bar. The starting height will be 80cms. Payment is secure and it goes directly to Orsett Horticultural & Agricultural Show.
You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.
Each competitor will receive two wristbands, while driving competitors will be provided with three wristbands. Additional wristbands can be purchased at a discounted price of £13 each. Children under 16 years old are entitled to free entry; however, please specify the number of wristbands required for them.
SOCIETIES AFFILIATIONS RULES & REGULATIONS
ORSETT CHAMPIONSHIP
To have qualified for the championships, each partnership had to gain two qualifications in their relevant classes from any combination of the chosen venues. (A list of venues could be found on the website.)
To have qualified for the finals, the combination must have been placed 1st to 3rd in two separate instances of the same class at two different events.
The three highest-placed competitors in each class qualified for the finals.
To register your qualification, you were required to visit www.orsettshow.co.uk/horse-section and click the “Register My Qualification” tab. You then had to complete the horse and rider details and attach both images of the results, which included placing, venue, class, and date. Please note, you could not register your qualification until both qualifiers had been obtained.

THE TRADITIONAL GYPSY COB ASSOCIATION
TGCA Breed classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association's (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show “TOYS”.
Traditional Classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs and are qualifiers for the Traditional Finals at ‘TOYS’. Part Bred Classes 77-82, are open to all part bred traditional gypsy cobs and are qualifiers for the part bred finals at “TOYS”. The exhibit must have one parent that is a traditional gypsy cob. Stallions – All stallions (four years and over) in order to enter any TGCA affiliated class MUST be TGCA registered, have passed TGCA stallion evaluations and their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle. Stallions and colts over the age of two, MUST be shown in a stallion bridle with a metal bit and chain lead as per the current TGCA rulebook. Current TGCA members must present their Membership card and Qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Non-members MUST receive a qualification card from the judge and have 21 days to join the TGCA and register their horse to validate the qualification. Please refer to www.tgca.co.uk for further details including membership, horse registration and showing rules (contained within the members handbook).
THE COLOURED HORSE & PONY SOCIETY (UK) - CHAPS This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK) Affiliation no 25-078. Both owner and the rider/exhibitor need NOT be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. However, in order to qualify for both owner and rider/exhibitor need to be a current showing member and have a valid qualifier card. Members to apply into CHAPS (UK) for appropriate qualifier card.
The following classes (73 to 76) are CHAPS (UK) Qualifiers. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS (UK) Members’ Handbook; or visit www.chapsuk.com for rulings. Only Skewbald’s/Piebald’s may compete these classes All Stallions, 4 years old and over entering these classes must be graded with CHAPS (UK). All stallions must wear Stallion ID Discs in the ring without exception. NB CHAPS (UK) Qualification Cards – please note competitors are responsible for completing their own qualification cards for relevant qualifications only. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to obtain from CHAPS (UK) Admin, and to carry their Qualification and Membership Cards. Qualification is presented as stated above BUT a horse/pony may only qualify once per season for each Final it is eligible for.
HACKNEY HORSE SOCIETY Classes 13 & 14 are affiliated to the Hackney Horse Society. All horses/ponies must be registered in the studbook of the UK Hackney Horse Society or of a recognised Hackney Society abroad and all exhibitors must be members of the Hackney Horse Society. Minimum age of driver is open and novice classes will be 14 years at the date of show. Please note ruling for Novice Hackneys: To be eligible for a novice class the exhibit may not have been a Novice Champion at an Annual Breeds Show or Novice Hackney Horse or Pony of the Year. An animal can only be a Novice for three seasons from the start of their first show (Not consecutive seasons)
THE VICTORIA FOOD COMPANY OPEN PRIVATE DRIVING CHAMPIONSHIP This is a Victoria Food Company Driving Championship qualifier. The champion will qualify for the grand final to be held on Sunday 14th September 2025 at Bury Farm Equestrian Club, New Bury Farm, Mill Road, Slapton, Bucks, LU7 9BT. In the event that the champion has already qualified then the Reserve Champion to qualify. If the Reserve has also qualified, the rosette will be awarded to the Champion, once qualified, the horse, whip and vehicle may not be changed.
CONCOURS D’ ELEGANCE SOCIETY OF GREAT BRITAIN First, second and third placed horses/ponies not already qualified in eligible classes will qualify for the Champion of Britain Title classes to be held at Onley Equestrian Centre, Rugby, Warwickshire on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September 2025. If a horse/pony has already qualified, cards may be handed down to 6th place at judge’s discretion. Each qualified horse/pony will receive a qualification card in the ring which will enable the owner to enter the Championship Show, provided the owner and rider/handler are, or become registered with the Concours d’Elegance Society within 21 days of the qualifying show. 1 The decision of the Judges shall be final. Objections of any kind must be made in writing and delivered to the Secretary making it clear that it is an objection which is being handed in. A deposit of £30 shall be paid with each objection which must be made within half an hour of the Judge’s decision being given on the day of the show; in the case of a joint objection a deposit shall be paid by each objector. Such objections will be considered by a panel of not less than three members of the Society appointed by the Chairman or Vice Chairman and their decision shall be final. Anonymity will not be available to any objector. The deposit may be forfeited at the discretion of the panel
2 The Society’s general by-laws and general regulations apply to all Entries, Exhibitors and persons attending the Show.
3 Exhibitors will comply with any directions or instructions given to them by the Society its Officers or Stewards, which the Society deems to be expedient.
4 Any animal considered by the Judge/Steward on the advice of the Veterinary Surgeons to be suffering from disease or lameness to be immediately removed from the class.The society and associated Show Veterinary Officers reserve the right to summon animal health officials if deemed necessary. All animals ridden anywhere on the Showground, rings or lorry parks, must only be ridden by a rider whose size and weight does not compromise the animal’s welfare. We are operating under the 20% rider weight guideline where the rider in full riding attire with full tack must be less than 20% of the animal’s body weight. This is based on a relatively fit, healthy animal, as an overweight animal is also a welfare concern. Every Exhibitor of Horses shall be liable to pay the society a sum not exceeding £100 and for liquidated damages, if any animal sent for exhibition is, in the opinion of any of the Show Veterinary Officers, affected with any contagious or infectious disease including ringworm, or with any form of disease likely to prove dangerous or detrimental to other animals and for each and every such case, if more than one. The aforesaid animal(s) will be disqualified and subject to movement restrictions must be removed immediately from the Showground.
5 It is the sole responsibility of riders to ensure that whilst on horseback, they wear correctly fitting, 3-point protective headgear which complies with the latest British Standard. The Society accepts no responsibility for any injury arising from a failure to comply with this regulation The exception to this rule is for classes 4, 5 & 48 whereby a disclaimer must be signed if the rider wishes not to wear a hard hat. Handlers under 16’s will be required to wear hard hats when exhibiting.
6 No equine animal is allowed to be on the Showground unless entered in a class.
7 Every exhibitor making entries for the show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by these Rules and it is on this understanding only those entries are accepted. All entries to be made on line before the date specified in the Schedule. Showjumping and show entries will be taken on the day if an exhibit is already entered prior to entries closing but an additional fee will be charged.
8 The Society reserves the right to refuse any entry.
9 If for any reason the Horse Classes or the Show as a whole has to be cancelled ONLY half the entry fee will be refunded. In no other case will entries be returned.
10 In the event that a class or classes are cancelled by the Society (whether or not the Show takes place) then the only compensation due to an exhibitor will be a refund of the entry fee(s) paid by the exhibitor in respect of the class or classes that have been cancelled.
11 Except where this Schedule specifically provides otherwise for a particular class the following provisions will take effect. If there are less than six entries for any class, the third prize need not be given and if there are less than three entries, the second prize may be withheld.
12 Competitions qualifying for events organised by other bodies are offered in good faith on information provided by those bodies. No liability is accepted by this Society if those events take place in circumstances other than those originally stated or do not proceed.
13 Exhibits in all classes must be the bona fide property of the exhibitors and all exhibits must have been the property of, and in the possession of, the exhibitors at the time of entry. Any person who has care and control of an exhibit on the Showground will be deemed to be the Agent of that exhibit’s owner for all purposes connected with that exhibit. The Horse Passports (England) Regulation 2009 requires all owners to obtain a passport for each animal that they own. Please remember to bring these passport(s) to the show and have them available for inspection if requested by Equine Veterinary Surgeon or Local Trading Standards Officers. 14 The entry fee for any animal entered and not exhibited will be forfeited.
15 In the event of a Judge or Judges failing to attend on Show Day, the Secretary or Chief Steward may appoint a Deputy or Deputies.
16 In any Class or Section which is affiliated to a Governing Body it shall be a condition of entry that exhibitors, whether or not members of that Body, shall comply with its Rules and will be liable to dope testing.
17 Every effort will be made to avoid classes clashing but should this happen for any reason; exhibitors must choose which class they want to compete in. No entry fees will be refunded. The Society will not be responsible for any loss where an exhibitor has made entries in more than one class and because of a time overrun it is not possible for him/her or the horse/pony to compete in one or more later classes. No claim for refund of fees paid or other loss, direct, indirect or consequential will be accepted or paid.
19 The Show Organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of everyone
Each competitor/Exhibitor are required to have adequate Public Liability Insurance in respect of their participation and the Society. The onus is on every rider who suffers a fall or any person who suffers an injury whilst on the Showground to report the fall/injury to the Show Secretary.
20 Livestock vehicles and horse boxes should follow the signs and enter the Showground at the designated entrances. Only vehicles carrying horses or turnout vehicles for driving classes will be permitted in the Horse Parking Area. Cars MUST not be brought into this area and should be parked in the public car parks, clearly signed on all major routes to the Showground.
21 Rosettes are awarded up to sixth place, although additional rosettes may be awarded at the judges’ discretion. The prize money listed for each class represents the maximum amount. Payment will be made within two weeks of the show. If there are fewer than 5 entries, only first and second prize money will be awarded. If there are fewer than 4 entries, only first prize money will be awarded.
All cups and trophies are the property of the society. Most trophy winners may hold their respective cup or trophy and, upon payment of a refundable deposit of £70.00, this can be collected from the Show Secretary with the understanding that they must be returned by July 15, 2026. Winners will be required to engrave the trophies they have won at their own expense and sign for any trophies.
22. Notice Regarding Classes 83–88 - Classes will be run under British Dressage (BD) rules, including regulations on tack, dress, judging, and welfare.

Championship tests (Classes 84, 86 & 88) will be run without whips and without callers.
