British Riding Clubs Area 7 Combined Challenge Qualifier at Ely Eventing Centre, CB6 2TY.
This will consist of a course of showjumping and cross-country fences ON GRASS. Classes from 70cm to 100cm, juniors & seniors, Team & individual competition. The 90cm & 100cm classes will be mixed age group, so a team may consist of a mixture of juniors & seniors. Courses available for walking from 2pm Saturday 9th August.
Horses can only jump in 2 classes, and they must be consecutive heights.
All hats must have a current pink BRC/BE/PC hat tag. There will be a trained official on the day who can do this for you if your hat doesnt currently have one. For up-to-date hat rules, please see the current BRC handbook.
A body protector is obligatory in all cross-country competitions. Blue BETA 2018 Level 3 Label is now the only accepted standard for body protectors. The only exception to this is the Exo Body Cage which will still be accepted but must have a BETA Level 3 2000 label. The rider must also inform the secretary at the event that they will be using an Exo Body Cage.
Riders must wear a number bib with number on the front & back. PLEASE PRINT YOUR OWN NUMBER FOR YOUR BIB WHEN TIMES HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED.
Class running order will be dependant on entries.
Horses must be up-to-date with flu vaccinations, and microchips are also compulsory. They must not be vaccinated within 6 days before the qualifier. not including the day of vaccination or competition.
Entries close 20th July. After this date, late entries may be accepted if there is space, with a £5 per entry late fee. Times will be published by 7th August.
Volunteers - Qualifiers require a lot of helpers to enable them to run, so every club must provide some volunteers (pro-rata to their number of entries), perhaps stewarding, pole picking, etc. Do you have a preference to helping before or after competing, or can you bring a helper with you? If each competitor helps for a little while, then it shares the load.
The Championship will be held at Aston le Walls, Daventry, Northamptonshire NN11 6RT on 27th-28th September 2025.
Outside assistance is forbidden and will result in elimination.
Paramedics and vet will be in attendance on the day. Any rider who falls anywhere on site, must be checked by a paramedic before leaving the site.
No riding or leading of horses in any area marked as out of bounds. Non compliance will result in elimination and removal from the site.
Please clear all droppings and hay before you leave. No mucking out of lorries on site. All litter must be disposed of in the bins provided, or taken with you.
Dogs must be kept on a short lead, and cleaned up after.
The organisers and event site owner do not insure the rider, horse, tack or equipment. You are strongly advised to have in place your own adequate insurance at all times. The venue nor anyone included in the organisation of the event will not be held responsible for any incident, injury or loss to any person or their property however this may be caused. Riding horses is a high-risk sport and riders taking part in this event acknowledge this and do so at their own risk. It shall be deemed a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the promoters against any legal action arising from such incident.
