This competition is open to all but for qualification purposes, Riders who have ever obtained points in the Gold League are not eligible for the Stepping Stones Final. Pony/Rider combinations who have ever obtained points in the Silver League are also not eligible for the Stepping Stones Final. Qualifies for: Four double clear rounds to qualify for the British Showjumping National Championships. Two double clear rounds will also qualify for the Scope Festival. Qualifying Period: 1st July - 30th June for Stepping Stones. 1st January-31st July for Debut Handicap Championship.Numbers to qualify: Those pony/rider combinations who achieve four double clears (subject to revision) will qualify for the Final. Those ponies who achieve two double clears will also qualify for the Debut Handicap Championship Final at the Scope Festival (those qualified to Scope, are asked to email office@southviewarena.com). • British Novice:
For registered ponies in Grade JD, that have not won a total of 150 Points to be ridden by Junior Members, ages as per Rule 77.12/77.13.
Qualifies for: Pony British Novice Championship Second Rounds. Qualifying period 1st May-30th April inclusive.
Numbers to qualify: Those ponies that jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off, in at least four Pony British Novice First Round competitions held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in a Pony British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule 191). Ponies in the class must go in to the jump-off and go clear to gain their double clear round qualification. The winner of a particular Pony British Novice First Round competition will not automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition.

GENERAL RULES · Entries and prize money, see below. · All visitors to Ponderosa Equestrian Centre/Barn Farm are responsible for their own health and safety and must conduct themselves in a manner which safeguards the health and safety of those around them. · Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 14 must be supervised at all times. · The welfare of the horse is paramount. Any concerns regarding horse welfare should be brought to the attention of the judges or show organisers, who may ask for a horse to be removed from the showground if there are concerns. · Well-behaved dogs are permitted and to be kept on a lead. No dogs permitted in the horse walkways/warm-ups/standing areas. · All dog muck to be picked up and disposed of correctly. · Horses to be kept to areas intended for their use and may be exercised only in the designated warm-up arena. No lungeing in the warm-up arena. Lorry park/fields not to be used for horse exercise. · The 5mph speed limit must be adhered to at all times. · Only one groom/helper per horse allowed in the warm-up arena at any one time. · Standing horses are not permitted in the warm-up arena. · Horses must proceed only at a walk outside of the warm-up arena and competition arena. · All horses / ponies entering the showground must have a valid equine passport and must be properly vaccinated according to the relevant Governing Body. · By entering the showground, you agree to abide by these Rules and Regulations, as well as any other rulebook specific to the event e.g. British Showjumping Rulebook. · All visitors to the showground must be aware that there are inherent risks associated with equestrian activities. By entering Ponderosa Equestrian Centre, visitors accept these risks, and agree to abide by the Centre’s terms and conditions. All riders, drivers, grooms and helpers must have their own third-party liability insurance. · No prams or pushchairs allowed in the horse areas. · All visitors are required to behave in a respectful, courteous, and considerate manner, and will be asked to leave if these standards are not upheld. HORSES, AND EQUIPMENT (INC. REFUNDS, PRIZE MONEY, AND WITHDRAWALS) · All entries to be made online through MyRidingLife. Withdrawals received via email to events@ponderosaec.co.uk. Withdrawals received more than 48 hours before the show may have their entries carried forward to another show (must be used within 6 months). Entries will be placed on a carry-over list. Please email events@ponderosaec.co.uk when competitors wish to use these entries. Withdrawals received 1 week before the show may have a full refund, minus the booking fee. · Late entries to be paid for before leaving the showground. · The organisers reserve the right to cancel shows for any reason whatsoever and refuse any entries, at their discretion. · Entries will be closed once classes are full. · Prize money will be deposited in the PayPal account from which entries were made. If competitors paid via card, they must email events@ponderosaec.co.uk with correct bank details within one month of the event to claim their prize money. · You are responsible for your animal’s behaviour. You must take all reasonable precautions to ensure that other members of the public are not put at risk of injury. This is particularly important with stallions. · All stallions must be clearly marked with a stallion disc. · All riders must wear protective headgear to current British Standards with fitted secure chinstrap. Chin straps must be fastened whilst mounted. Back protectors are recommended for all classes. · All riders must be dressed correctly whilst competing and warming up. In extreme weather, the judge’s permission must be sought before riding in shirtsleeves or raincoats. · If before, or during the competition, the organisers or judges decide that an animal is unfit or lame, it will be withdrawn and retired immediately from the competition. · A veterinary surgeon will be on call throughout the event. Please contact the show organiser on 07790 881369 should competitors require us to contact a vet. · Attempts will be made to contact a farrier, but riders are advised to have their horses re-shod no more than 2-3 weeks prior to the event. PARKING/LORRY PARK RULES · All mess (including hay and muck) must be removed from the lorry park and placed in the skip provided. · Horses must not be left unattended while tied to lorries or trailers. · The show organisers reserve the right to remove any vehicle or chattels which are obstructing any access to or on the showground even if locked, secured, unattended and braked and they will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage etc. · Please keep all property secured. Generators and equipment in particular should be kept locked up with a chain. All property remains the responsibility of the owner. · All vehicles parked at your own risk. STABLE RULES · Stables will be allocated once we receive full payment on a first come first served basis, and are not refundable. · No stallions. · All stables must be mucked out before leaving the showground. GENERAL AND LEGAL · Ponderosa Equestrian Centre nor any of their Officers, Servants or Agents shall in any way be liable for any accident, injury, damage or loss or for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to Exhibitors, Competitors, or members of the General Public or their Servants, Agents or to anyone on the Showground, or for any loss, claim, matter circumstance or event whatsoever in connection with or arising out of nor attributable or any journey to or from the Show. · No individual for which he/she is responsible as owner lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any competition/event without taking adequate precautions to ensure that other members of the public are not put at risk of injury. · The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry, cancel, or alter classes; or postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances. The organisers also reserve the right, if necessary, to amend the schedule, which may mean that riders compete in less classes than advertised. In the unlikely event that the event is cancelled, the Organisers will return everyone’s monies, less an administration charge of up to 50% of the total price, to cover the irrecoverable costs of preparing to host the event.
