CLOSING DATE: The Thursday before the competition. Entries are available on the day if classes are not full in advance and are subject to the late entry fee. If classes are full before the closing date, then a waiting list will be held.
Payment Details & Event Fees
Entries available on the day for all classes except dressage. You can book using our Secure Online Entry System. Payment is secure and it goes directly to Tumpy Green Equestrian. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking and payment.
Showing classes: Advanced: £10 / On the day: £13 per combination per class. Show Jumping classes: Advanced: £12 / On the day: £14 per combination per class. Dressage: Advanced: £15 / Late entries by prior arrangement: £18 ENTRIES ON THE DAY ARE CASH ONLY £3 First Aid per combination (one pony/one rider) payable in CASH ONLY
PRIZEGIVING: class presentations will take place immediately after each class. Rosettes: to sixth place in each class.
Veteran Horse Society – AREA QUALIFIER 2025. First round qualifier for the Veteran Horse Society Supreme Final: VETERAN HORSE OF THE YEAR 2025 Kindly Sponsored by Allen & Page. Open to members and non-members. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification. Those wishing to join or renew the Society will need to apply for this before 1st May each year or a late penalty fee of £15 will be charged. VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each Area Qualifier class will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals. Members must carry their card in the ring at all times and have their showing card signed by the judge as proof of qualification. Non-members will receive a red qualification card which can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership, this MUST be done within 21 days of qualification. It is the competitors’ responsibility to present their Showing card to the judge. Regional Finals are open to members only. All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Championships, 29th August – 1st August 2025. No qualification or membership necessary. Entries are only accepted on this basis. 2. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. 3. All non-Riding Club competitors are not covered by British Riding Club’s insurance and must have their own third-party cover. The Tumpy Green Branch of British Riding Clubs and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non-Members and their insurance will not cover them.
1. Substitutions allowed – please tell the Secretary (by email before the closing date, at the show box on the day). 2. Closing date for entries – Thursday before the competition. Withdrawal refunds given on receipt of a relevant doctor/vet certificate received by the Entries Secretary within a week of the competition by email. 3. If the show is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, entry fees will be help in credit for a future event. Any refund will be subject to an administration fee. 4. TIMES WILL BE GIVEN for DRESSAGE and SHOW-JUMPING – please see My Riding Life. Competitors may be asked to jump up to 15 minutes before their given time – please be ready. 6. Warm-up Arena – the number of competitors may be restricted; please obey the steward’s instructions as to when you can use the warm-up. No one will be allowed in the warm-up arenas before they have paid for entries and first aid IN FULL. Please note we only accept CASH. 7. Children must not jump in the warm-up arena without an accompanying adult. 8. Each horse/pony may only compete once in each and in a maximum of three classes. Stallions are allowed only with prior permission from the Entries Secretary and must wear stallion discs and ribbons. 9. Turnout for ALL riders and horses should be as in British Riding Club Rules for Show-jumping 2023 and according to individual dress codes per showing class. Please contact the Entries Secretary BEFORE the show day for any queries re dress/turnout. 10. Any abuse of horses/ponies, officials, other competitors or members of the public will not be tolerated and those found doing so will be asked to leave the venue with no compensation and may be reported to the relevant authority. 11. Judges’ decision is final. Any objection must be handed to the Show Secretary in writing with a £20 deposit (which will be forfeited if the objection is not upheld) within 15 minutes of the incident and BEFORE the prize-giving for that class. 12. INSURANCE; please ensure that you have adequate/appropriate insurance for rider, horse, property and third party. 13. PHOTOGRAPHS: by entering this competition you are agreeing to be photographed whilst competing; these photographs may be used for future publicity. If you do not wish to be photographed please tell the photographer on entering the arena, before you jump. 14. Participants attend at their own risk; neither the Committee nor Tumpy Green Competition Centre will be liable for any loss, damage or accident to horses, riders, property or other persons. 15. No horses/ponies should be left tied to the outside of trailers/lorries without supervision. Please clear any muck/rubbish and do not leave on the lorry park. Please be aware that there is no gate between the lorry park and the main road. All hay must be collected and removed from the lorry park. 16. The show will be run under British Riding Club Rules 2025 and per Veteran Horse Society 2025 rules for Veteran classes. 17. Please obey all instructions given by staff and adhere to current social distancing guidance.
