Purchased jackets may be used as part of the costume. The criteria for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony and rider, and the way of going of the horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider’s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not permitted. The costume does not need to be handmade by the rider.

To be run and placed as a single class (adults and juniors combined).
Juniors, not to have attained their 16th birthday by 1st January of current year, are also eligible for
additional rosettes and prizes, see ‘Strictly Fancy Dress-Age Junior Section’ below. Competitors will
be given times once entries have close. This time will have a cap on entries.

The Champagne Challenge: Fun class. You do not need to wear a costume! All entries will be given a flute of champagne and asked to perform an individual show, in walk trot and or canter.
Class will be judged on how much liquid (water) is left for you to drink at the end of
your show out!

Classes 1 to 27 are open to everyone, you do not need to be a member and you do
not need to qualify. However, “Of The Year” classes are only open to
competitors who have qualified and are members of the society. You can
qualify at many shows across the UK or on the day of the championship show
(membership must be paid)Classes will run concurrently. Due to the cost of hiring this exclusive venue, we do need to use the time effectively. We will do our best to accommodate you but, if you need to change costumes between classes, please ensure you are organized and have a good, supportive ground crew with you!
We are unable to wait for people or hold any classes.
Please enter sensibly, we will not hold any classes to wait for competitors if classes clash, please ensure you keep an eye on your ring and you are in your collecting ring in plenty of time.
Classes will be judged in accordance with the Rules of The Concours d’Elegance
Society of GB. Appointed Judges may be substituted to ensure the smooth running
of the programme and to avoid any conflict of interest. Classes will be judged
according to the Guidelines of the Concours d‘Elegance Society of GB which can be
found at www.eqconcoursgb.com
Competitors are expected to create own numbers.
