Riders not to have completed a BE 90 or BRC HT 90 or above in the current competition year at close of prelim entry. Riders may not compete at 90 or above in the same qualifier or Championship. Horses may be registered with BE but must not have any BE points. Not to have completed a BE 90 or above in the current or previous calendar year. Horses may have up to 10 BE foundation points. Riders who have competed under FEI rules in the relevant discipline at 3* or above in last 5 years not allowed.

BRC Area 5 Horse Trials Qualifier for the BRC SEIB Horse Trials Championships

On 2 - 3 August 2025 at Swalcliffe Park, Grange Farm, Swalcliffe, Banbury OX15 5EX

Classes may not necessary run in the order they appear on the schedule

 No horse may enter more than one class.

Refunds:After the closing date, entry fees will only be refunded if notified by 12 noon on Monday 1st July and on receipt of medical/vets certificates. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TO AND NO REFUND OF ENTRY WILL BE MADE AFTER THIS TIME.

Terms & Conditions

This competition will run under British Riding Club Rules. It is important that all competitors are aware of the rules relating to this competition – please see the current BRC Handbook and also the BRC Rule Amendments and Changes Document which can be found at the link below: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-rulebook.

 

All BRC entrants must pay a pre entry fee of £56 per team or £14.50 per individual to British Riding Clubs at least 21 days before the date of the qualifier (above). Online entries can be made via the BRC website. https://brc.bhs.org.uk/login?referral=%2Fselect . Late prelim entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser with a late surcharge of £10 per team and £5 per individual (payable to BRC HQ), if there are sufficient spaces.  Late entries cannot be guaranteed therefore must not be paid for until approval from the organiser has been sought.

 

If the date of the qualifier is cancelled for any reason, the close of prelim entry will remain.  However, if the qualifier is moved more than 21 days later, entries will be re-opened but late entry fees cannot be refunded.  Eligibility will be approved at the original close of prelim entry. 

Your horse must have up to date Influenza vaccinations in line with the current BRC Rulebook.

GENERAL RULES ALL CLASSES 

Horse/ponies must be 5 years or older. 

 

HAT STANDARDS All hats must have a visible PINK BRC/BE/PC hat tag in place before they are used for warming up and competing. There will be a trained steward available on the day that will be carrying out hattagging if your hat does not already have a tag.

 

BODY PROTECTORS: A body protector is obligatory in all cross-country competitions and is stronglyrecommended in show jumping competitions. A BETA Level 3 blue label 2018 must be worn. Bodyprotectors should be fitted and worn as per the manufacturer’s instructions. The up to date BETA list of bodyprotectors can be obtained from www.beta-uk.org.

If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector it must be worn over a permitted body protectorand if activated, must be deflated or removed before continuing. Hybrid Air-jackets are permitted. Riderswearing Exo Body Cage (2000) protectors must inform the secretary at all events.

 

The uses of HEAD CAMS are strictly prohibited. This includes use on the head, chest, bridle or any other part of the horse or rider. 

Medical armbands are strongly recommended and must be properly completed with the relevant competitor’s details and worn on the arm. 

Stop watches are allowed.

Tack and Dress Rules

Please make sure you adhere to tack and dress rules found in the current version of the BRC rules. Thefull 2024 version is available to download online.

Each rider must print their own bib number. 

ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A SHORT LEAD & CLEARED UP AFTER

OBJECTIONS: 

Objections must be made in writing to the Secretary within half an hour of the incident together with a £50 deposit. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained. After this the score cannot be changed.

For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards. 

Please take special care to ensure the safety of children. Children must be supervised at all times.

Save for death or injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, for themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event, do not accept liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, vehicles, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or statutory duty or any way whatsoever of themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event.

RESERVATION of RIGHT 

The Organisers reserve the right to: Cancel any class or section; Divide any class; Transfer competitors between sections of a class; Alter the advertised times, and Refuse any entry.

 

PLEASE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME AND DO NOT MUCK OUT YOUR HORSEBOXON OUR GROUNDS.

DO NOT TIE HAYNETS TO THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR LORRY / TRAILER.

DO NOT LEAVE HORSE/S TIED TO THE OUTSIDE OF THE BOX UNATTENDED
