The pony competitor will do a short course of show jumps. He/she will then dismount, passing the pony to their groom prior to doing a series of obstacles before crossing the finish line. The clock will begin as the competitor goes through the start and will stop when the competitor crosses the finish line.

Should a rider placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Blue Chip Pro Open Challenge Trophy on Thursday 10 April 2025 proceed to win the Blue Chip Grand Prix on Friday 11 April 2025 they will win a bonus prize of £2,000 kindly sponsored by PRB Horseboxes Ltd.
The rider may ride a different horse / or horses in the Grand Prix from the horse on which they were placed in the Blue Chip Pro Challenge Trophy. Show Ground Access:
Horses may arrive on the showground from 2.00pm on Tuesday 8 April. Horses requiring stables must arrive before 7.30pm as the Stable Managers Office will close at 8.00pm. The Show Ground entrance will close at 11.00pm. Access to the Show Ground will be from 6.00am – 11.00pm on Show days. Outside these times the entrance will be opened for emergency access only. Horses / Ponies requiring stabling must arrive on the showground before 7.30pm. Should any competitor be delayed, they must contact the Stable Manager on 07487 423 564.
Vaccination Certificate:
All horses and ponies at the Blue Chip Championships must have a current and valid certificate of vaccination against Equine Influenza. Please read Point 37 in the Blue Chip Winter Show Jumping Championships General Rules & Regulations. There will be random checking of certificates and any horse or pony found without a valid certificate will not be permitted to remain at the Show.
Pony Height Certificates:
Any pony with a height certificate will be deemed correct as at 31 December 2024. Any pony without a height certificate as at 31 December 2024 will not require a height certificate for the Blue Chip Championships in 2025. Pony Boot Rule:
British Showjumping Rule 102.15 in the British Showjumping Members Online Handbook will apply to all pony competitions at the Blue Chip Championships.

Stabling Information: Yes
Show Ground Stabling:
Stables must be booked on-line. There will be 77 Permanent Barn Stables at £58 per night, plus Temporary Barn Stables at £38 per night, available on the showground. Competitors must ensure that there is availability on all nights for permanent stable bookings before booking, and only book stables for horses they have entered in classes. Requests for proximity to other riders should be made in the stabling notes. Competitors who wish to be placed on the waiting list for permanent stables need to email amanda@showdirect.co.uk Stables must only be booked in the riders name and not booked for friends. Requests can be added in the stable notes. Horses may not arrive before 2.00pm on 8 April and all horses must depart on Sunday 13 April. Stable hire is from 5.00pm on day of arrival – 4.00pm on the day of departure (access from 2.00pm on Tuesday 8 April). Stables must be vacated on time so that incoming horses may be stabled. If stables are not vacated on time a fine of £80 per stable may be charged for late departure. All Competitors will pay a £20 per stable deposit in cash only upon arrival at the Stable Managers Office prior to being allocated stables. This deposit is fully refundable prior to departure and upon confirmation that the Competitors stable has been emptied of bedding and left tidy. If the stable is not emptied of bedding and left tidy the deposit will not be refunded. Any damage caused to stables will be charged to the hirer. Horseboxes / trailers may be parked some distance from the stables. Competitors may not sub-let or re-sell any stables they have purchased and are then unable and / or don’t wish to use themselves. Stable Manager’s Office is open daily from 7.00am – 8.00pm Stable Bedding :
All stables will be empty of bedding on arrival. Natural Flake Shavings may be purchased from the Stable Manager at £9.00 per bale between 9.00am and 8.00pm. For further information on Natural Flake Shavings please visit www.awjenkinson.co.uk. Straw is not permitted. Haylage :
Horsehage may be purchased from the Stable Manager £9.00 per bale between 9.00am and 8.00pm. Electric Lorry Hook Up :
Limited 6amp electrical hook ups are available for horseboxes at a cost of £105 (inc. VAT) per hook up for the period that the Competitor is staying on the Show Ground and may not be transferred to another Competitor. Horseboxes will require a 16amp (blue socket) extension cable (which must conform to current electrical regulations) to connect to the socket supplied. Whilst the Organiser will endeavour to supply the hook up booked the Organiser does not guarantee a constant supply throughout the Show, nor do we accept any responsibility for losses and / or discomfort occurring as a result of a break in the supply provided. Electrical connection must be booked on-line and is on a strictly first come basis. No refunds can be made on any cancelled bookings.
Prize Giving:
All competitors winning prizes listed in the schedule for all competitions in the Championship Arena and Espayo Arena will be expected to attend the Official Prize Giving. The Show Organiser reserves the right to withhold prizes if competitors do not attend the Official Prize Giving.
Prize Money:
All Competitors who win prize money must email their bank details to the Show Secretary at amanda@showdirect.co.uk. Prize money will be sent via a bank transfer on / or before 27 April 2025 to competitors who have sent their bank details to the Show Secretary. If bank details are not submitted by 30 April 2025 the prize money will be forfeited.
Special Prizes:
All special prizes must be collected from the Show Secretary prior to departure from the Show Ground. Pony competitors must be accompanied by an adult. Prizes will not be forwarded after the event.
Gifts for Finalists:
Blue Chip Feed have kindly provided a baseball cap and stable plaques for all qualified finalists who compete in a Championship Final. These may be collected from the Show Secretary’s Office during the Show where you will also receive a Blue Chip Championship Finalist badge. These are restricted to one per person.

Refunds of entries will only be made in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 79.5. Payment of refunds will only be made after the Championships.
