1. The judges decision is final
2. All classes will be run in accordance with the Pony Club Dressage Rule Book 2025 and the Pony Club Showjumping Rule Book 2025
3. Correct dress to be worn. All competitors must wear gloves ad hair tied back securely
4. Hats to be of the standard accepted as of 1st January 2025. (Please see Pony Club rule books if unsure - pcuk.org/officials/rulebooks/). Chin strap must be fastened. Hats must be tagged by your own PC (pink tag). These will be checked before competing.
5. Body protectors advisable. Please see the current hat/body protector rules on the Pony Club website—www.pcuk.org.
6. No boots or bandages for dressage tests. Tests to be ridden in snaffle bridles only.
7. Whips are restricted to 102cm in length, measured up to the tassel and may be carried for dressage. SJ whips must be “padded” and comply with the current British Showjumping rule
8. All tack will be checked and must be identical in both the warm up and ring/arena. No schooling whips are allowed in the showjumping warm up or arena.
9. Numnahs/saddle cloths must be white, cream, navy, brown or black with any piping in the same colour
10. Spurs: Members wishing to ride in spurs at this competition must have achieved C+ Riding Test or The Spurs Achievement Test and must display a yellow spurs hat tag. Misuse of spurs by any competitor will be recorded and reported and may result in disqualification from the competition.
11. The Judge’s decision is final. Objections accompanied by a deposit of £50 must be made in writing to the Secretary within 15 minutes of the incident. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is sustained.
12. No telephone entries
13. No entries will be refunded except on the production of vet’s or doctor’s certificate, in which case the entry may be refunded less £3 admin fee.
14. In the case of cancellation, entries will be refunded less a £3 admin fee.
15. The organisers reserve the right to cancel and alter classes, refuse entries without explanation and to disqualify competitors.
16. Please leave your dogs at home
17. Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of any event to which these rules apply, nor the pony club, nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses , owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by negligence , breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.
18. All horses/ponies must be 5 yrs old or over on the day of the event.
19. Horses/ponies must not be tied up outside boxes/trailers and left unattended at any time.
20. Please clear up all droppings, hay and litter.
Health & Safety
Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
