INDOOR INTERNATIONAL ARENA - SHOW JUMPING CLASSES. Pre-entries only. All classes are drawn order.
DRESSAGE CLASSES These will be run across two arenas and will be outdoors away from the show jumping warm up Pre-entries only. All classes are drawn order.


TIMINGS AND NUMBERS
All classes will run to a strict drawn order of allocated times.
Failure to present at the correct time will result in elimination.
Times available from 6 pm on Thursday 21st March via the event link on the Bury Farm website.
Please print your own A4 number and wear in a bib or pinned to your jacket on the day.
Avoid bridle numbers that may not be visible from the judge’s box.

There will an option in the outdoor arena, after classes 7 and 8, for clear round jumping at heights between 40 cm to 1 m. This will be ticketed on the day on a CASH ONLY basis, £5 per round, rosette for each clear. Further clarification on clear round timings will be made available when the show times are published. Arena will close at 1pm.

Payment Details & Event Fees

ENTRY FEES
Non-members £22, South Hertfordshire & West Middlesex Pony Club £20.
Plus booking fee £1.50 per transaction.

The entry fee includes first aid.

PC TEAMS
Team entry an additional £10. SHWM competitors exempt from team fee.
Branches can enter as many teams as they wish.
Teams for each class can be made up of three or four riders from the same Branch. One rider may ride two horses. Top three scores of the Team count.
All team entries should be emailed by the Team Manager/DC to dressage@buryfarmestates.co.uk by Thursday 21st March 2024.

Stabling Information: Yes

£15 for day stable, £40 for overnight stabling.

Prize Information

RESULTS, TROPHIES AND ROSETTES
Results will be published on https://branches.pcuk.org/southhertfordshire/
Rosettes to 6th place in all classes for individuals and 4th place for teams.
Keeper trophies in all classes.

AWARDS
An unmounted presentation will be held for each class as soon as the results are available.
Please could prize winners present themselves in correct riding dress to receive their awards.

Special Classes

Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8b are qualifiers for the Pony Club Area 12 Championships
Classes 11 and 12 are qualifiers for the Pony Club Area 12 Championships

Refreshments:

Paddocks cafe open throughout show hours serving a selection of hot and cold food, drinks and snacks.

Terms & Conditions

1. ELIGIBILITY This competition is open to ALL. 2. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason. 3. The competition is being run under Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2021 showjumping-rule-book- 2020-final. 4. The decision of the judges and stewards in all cases is final. 5. Excessive use of the whip, including repeated slapping down the shoulder, is prohibited. The whip may be used a maximum of three times during any round. 6. Use of the whip will be monitored, and excessive use may result in elimination. 7. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis. 8. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. 9. Non-Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own thirdparty cover. South Hertfordshire & West Middlesex Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non-members and their insurance will not cover you. 10. Horses and ponies must be four years or older on the day of the show. 11. All competitors must be suitably dressed in correct riding attire. Hats must be approved PAS015, EN1384 or BS EN1384 with BSI Kitemark and chin straps must be fastened at all times when mounted. 12. All entries must be accompanied by the correct fee this includes the cost of Paramedic Cover. 13. The Organisers reserve the right to alter the programme of events at their discretion and should the event be cancelled for any reason the Organisers reserve the right to retain a proportion of entry fees to cover their expenses. 14. The same horse or pony may be ridden by 2 different riders in class 1 & 2 only. No one can compete more than 3 horses / ponies in the same class. 15. No substitution of entries after the closing date. 16. All individual entries to be made online to https://www.myridinglife.com/eventdetails.aspx?id=403819 17. Single Phase Competition (course in two parts with second part timed). 18. Competitors to jump both parts unless eliminated. Faults to be accumulated. 19. Teams may include riders riding more than one horse / pony. 20. Teams to consist of 3 or 4 riders, best 3 scores will count. Competitors jump only once whether individual or team. 21. In the interests of safety and the smooth running of the event, all competitors and accompanying persons MUST follow the instructions of show officials, and this includes directions as to the parking of vehicles. 22. Horses/ponies tied to the outside of trailers/lorries must not be left unattended. 23. The area around your horse box/trailer must be tidy and all droppings removed. 24. Tying of haynets on the outside of trailers/lorries is not permitted. 25. Dogs on a lead at all times.

BURY FARM TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By entering any equestrian class or competition run or held at Bury Farm EC you acknowledge that you are taking part in a risk sport and are a competent rider at the level to which you are competing.


Our agreed onsite partner SBM Photographic will provide a photographic service at selected Bury Farm shows, complying with GDPR guidelines. 

BIOSECURITY MEASURES

All horses must be travelled with passports which can demonstrate that all vaccinations are up to date (Bury Farm operates a 12-month vaccination policy)

Horses must also show no clinical signs of the following when attending the centre:

  1. recent cough of unknown cause
  2. recent nasal discharge of unknown cause
  3. enlarged lymph nodes
  4. fever (>38.5 degrees)
  5. recent onset of neurological signs of unknown cause
  6. diarrhoea

Horses must also 

  1. not be under current investigation for EHV infection
  2. have not been in contact with and is not kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for EHV
  3. have not travelled out of the country for the past 28 days.

 Horses should NOT be brought to the centre if they are not in good health on the date of travel.

1. The decision of the judges & stewards in all cases is final. They reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any part of the competition or to refuse any entry without stating a reason.
2. The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
3. The organisers will not be held responsible and accept no liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, rider, spectators, vehicles or their contents and accessories, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify against any legal action arising from such incident.
4. All competitors must be suitably dressed in correct riding attire to current British Safety Standards. Riding / Jodhpur boots must be worn for all classes. 
5. Horses & ponies tied to lorry or trailers must not be left unattended.
6. Please ensure the area around your horsebox / trailer is clean and tidy. Droppings collected and not swept onto or left on BFEC. Please take litter home or use the bins provided.
7. Children must be supervised at all times
8. Whilst outside arenas, horses and ponies should be moved at a walk only.
9. There is a vet on call. The expense of any veterinary services rendered either on or after the show must be borne by the competitor or owner of the horse / pony.
10. No dogs allowed, other than in Lorry Park Only and MUST be on a lead at all times
