COMPETITION STRUCTURE AND SCORING

Classes range from 70cm to 100cm level. • The course will consist of six to eight show jumps, followed immediately by eight to 10 simulated, knock-down cross-country fences including a skinny, corner and joker fence. The joker fence can be no higher than 10cm than the maximum class height. • There will be no more than 20 jumping efforts. • The whole round will be timed.

Dress: XC colours, body protectors are compulsory. Rider must wear BE approved skull caps, no fixed peak SJ hats. Stopwatches are NOT allowed.

Penalties will be given as per the table below.

• The winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties.
• In the event of a tie the winner will be the one closest to the optimum time.
• The optimum time is calculated based on a speed of 350m per minute
• Stop watches are not permitted.
• Penalties as follows: ACE Penalties First disobedience 4 penalties Second disobedience at same fence 8 penalties Third disobedience Elimination
• Knock down of obstacle 4 penalties Knock down of Joker fence 6 penalties
• Fall of horse Elimination or Fall of rider Elimination
• Every commenced second in excess of the optimum time 0.4 penalties
• Every commenced second in excess of 5 seconds under the optimum time 0.4 penalties
• Exceeding time allowed Elimination Error of course Elimination
• Retaking obstacle already jumped Elimination
• Time allowed is twice the optimum time.

Payment is secure and it goes directly to West Wilts EC. You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment.
Late entries accepted at £3.00 extra per class, if space allows, up until 9am on Thursday 30th November.

Withdrawals, Refunds and Entry Policy
All competitions are pre-entry only, no refund or transfer is possible after initial close of entries date as published on the schedule.
All withdrawals to be made via e-mail please.
The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
For withdrawals before the published closing date refunds of the Entry Cost can be made less £3.00 Admin Fee alternatively, we can offer a free transfer to another event.
No refunds or transfers can be made during the late entry period unless we are able to replace it from a wait list.

Abandonment Policy
In the case of abandonment of a competition for any reason we will offer a free transfer towards an alternative competition – or a refund minus a £3.00 admin fee. The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.

· All entries and payments to be made online.
· ALL horses must not be under current investigation for infectious diseases including, for example, Equine Herpes Virus (EHV), Equine Influenza, Strangles.
· All Horses must not have been in contact with and is not kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for the neurological form of EHV, Equine Influenza, Strangles or Equine Viral Arteritis.
· All activity will be in accordance with the advice from the relevant national body, and ANY social distancing guidelines must always be adhered to.
· HORSES/PONIES MUST NOT BE LEFT TIED UP OUTSIDE UNATTENDED.
· Please do not park in front of or block access to the loading bay.
· PLEASE PRINT/MAKE YOUR OWN ALLOCATED RIDER NUMBER OR USE YOUR NUMBER DISKS. NUMBERS WILL BE ALLOCATED WITH TIMES. THIS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AND MUST BE EASILY READABLE.
· NO spectators or filming are allowed in any of the warm-up or competition arenas. Please use viewing areas.
· Warm up time may be limited by numbers allowed in arena to an estimated 30 – 40 minutes.
· You are expected to ride on your allocated times. If you do not do so, you risk being unable to compete.
· DRESSAGE SHEETS - Please email us for a copy or leave an A5 Large Letter Stamped Addressed HARD BACKED Envelope for rosettes or an ordinary SAE for dressage sheets only.
· PLEASE CLEAR UP ANY DROPPINGS OR HAY IN THE LORRY PARK.
· Dogs are allowed but MUST be kept on a short lead at all times. No Exceptions.
