Eligibility for all classes can be found in the current BRC Handbook (page 91 – please note from September 1st 2022 horses may compete in consecutive heights Arena Eventing and Combined Challenge). Eligibility will be taken from the close of pre-entry. All competitors must be a member and be on the BRC Database by midday the Friday before the qualifier. Anyone failing to meet the eligibility criteria will be disqualified and informed by BRC HQ when the results are processed.
Rules and Regulations This competition will run under BRC Rules, anyone in attendance will be bound by the BRC Code of Conduct. STOPWATCHES ARE NOT PERMITTED • BRC Code of Conduct : • British Riding Clubs, Beacons Equestrian Centre and persons acting on their behalf, do not accept any liability for any loss, accident or damage to any person, animal, vehicle or goods occurring in connection with this event. It is a condition of entry that each competitor indemnifies the organiser against any claim. • Whilst mounted, competitors must wear the correct riding clothes, which includes ‘Protective Headwear’, with a harness properly adjusted and fastened, also wearing your number, Failure to do so may incur elimination. ‘Protective Headwear’ constitutes a hat meeting one of the following standards, and has been tagged with the PINK tag. Hats can be checked at the steward in the “ENTRIES CABIN”
If the date of the qualifier is cancelled for any reason and rescheduled within 21 days, the close of pre-entry will remain. If the qualifier is rescheduled for more than 21 days after the original date, entries will re-open. Late entry fees will not be refunded. Eligibility is taken from the Friday before the qualifier, regardless of rescheduling. Pre-entries that cannot attend the new date may be issued a credit note but the Team Manager must inform the office in writing before the cut-off date which the area will be informed of upon rescheduling. • All withdrawals must be made via text to 07989385785 stating horses name, riders name and class/es entered into • Health and Safety guidelines Hats All hats must have a visible current BRC/BE/PC PINK hat tag in place before they are worn on the showground, to show that they meet the current safety standards. Horse Events hat tags are not accepted. There will be a trained official available on the day to do this for you if your hat does not currently have one. For any event with cross country riders must NOT have a fixed peak on their hat. For up to date hat rules please see the current BRC Handbook. Body Protectors A body protector is mandatory for this competition, from January 1st 2024 the BETA Level 3 2009 Purple Label will no longer be accepted for riders to use in BRC competitions. It is a rider’s responsibility to ensure they have a body protector with the BETA Level 3 2018 BLUE label The only exception to this is for Exo-Body cages, in which the BETA Level 3 2009 Purple Label will continue to be accepted. Flu Vaccinations & Microchips Your horse must have up to date annual influenza vaccinations in line with rule G7 in the current BRC Handbook. There is also a checking device on the BRC website. If you are unsure, please call BRC on 02476 840518, or you could contact your area rep / team manager. As of 1 October 2020, it is compulsory for all horses to be microchipped. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure the horse is chipped and it is traceable.
All Horse Passports must be carried with the horse to all official competitions and must be produced on demand
British PAS 015: 2011 ~ Must have BSI Kitemarked or IC Mark European VG1 01.040: 2014-12 or Inspec IC mark American ASTM F1163:2004a or 04a onwards ~ Provided they are SEI marked. SNELL E2016 official Snell label & number Australian & New Zealand AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards ~ Provided they are SAI Global marked
Numbers to qualify for the championships can be found in the BRC handbook, as per Appendix 10 in the current BRC Handbook.
Competitors must report to the steward and be ready to ride up to 10 minutes before the allotted time.
Horses or ponies must not be tied up outside boxes or trailers and left unattended,
Dogs must be kept on short leads at all times.
