The HHPC Dressage, Jumping and Showing Show is PC Members and Non Members aged 24 years and under and to PARARIDERS of any age.

It is with huge regret that we have had to abandon the HHPC Easter Show on Good Friday due to the recent and forecast adverse weather.

HH Pony Club Member Entries.  It will be a condition of entry for all HHPC Members and parents/guardian to help with either setting up or breakdown of the show ground.

Set Up will be on:  Wednesday 27th March from 2pm to approx. 5pm.  Breakdown will be on the day after all the classes have finished.

Show Information

Entries close: Sunday 24th March, 2024
Late entries on the day, space permitting (£2.00 extra per class).
Open to NON-Pony Club Members (Aged 24 years and under)
PLEASE KEEP DOGS ON SHORT LEADS AT ALL TIMES (Do not use extending leads as these can be dangerous). Fine £10 for offenders.

The HHPC has designed this show to encourage all young riders to enjoy an introduction to competing in various disciplines. Refreshments will be available on site.
The show organisers are on hand to help with advice on all aspects of “show” craftmanship from dress code to showing etiquette. PLEASE ASK we are here to help.

Classes 1, 2, 3 & 4 are to be “Two Phase” i.e. If competitor jumps a clear round, they do not leave the ring but will immediately continue to jump the fences in the Jump-Off section. A bell will be rung if the competitor has incurred faults and he/she will leave the ring at the end of the first phase.
Classes 5, 6 & 7 are to be judged on an optimum time to complete the course.

For all the showing classes Competitors will be judged on Turnout of horse and rider. Ponies should be plaited for all classes, riders should have pale jodphurs, with jacket and tie/stock.

Event Horse/Pony Exhibitors in classes 8-11 will be judged in two phases. Competitors will be required to perform a short individual show to include walk, trot and canter on both reins, a free walk on a long rein with a halt and salute to finish plus presentation and turnout; followed by jumping a short course of rustic fences during which they will be judged on both style & performance.  Horses and ponies of any height in classes 8 & 9.  Ponies to be 147cms or under in classes 10 & 11.

Showing Exhibitors in classes 14-15 will be judged on a short individual show to include walk, trot and optional canter both reins, a free walk on a long rein with a halt and salute to finish, no jumping required; plus presentation & turnout. Horses and ponies of any height.

Special Classes

Para Classes
All classes are open for Para Rider entries with rosettes for Best Placed in each class. Para riders must be medically diagnosed as having a permanent, physical impairment that can be measured objectively by a Physiotherapist or medical doctor trained in the classification system.

 

 

Terms & Conditions

LEGAL LIABILITY: Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event, The Pony Club, West Stoke Farm (landlord) nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELFARE: The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards.

1. INSURANCE: Please be aware that all non-Pony Club competitors/spectators are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third-party cover. The Hampshire Hunt Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non-Members and their insurance will not cover you. 2. All persons entering the showground shall be bound by these Rules and Conditions of Entry. 3. This event will be run under current Pony Club Rules throughout the day. Fully comprehensive rules are available on the main Pony Club website. www.pcuk.org 4. Cancellation/Abandonment: In the event of cancellation or abandonment, entry fees will be returned, less an administration fee of £10.00 per competitor, to offset costs. 5. The judges’ decision is final in all matters. Video evidence will not be accepted in any circumstances. The committee reserves the right to cancel, add to or amend any of the conditions or competitions as they think fit and to refuse entry at their discretion. 6. Protests or objections must be made in writing and addressed to the Official Steward accompanied with a £20 deposit, returnable if the objection is upheld, within 30 minutes of the incident occurring or within 30 minutes of the results being announced. 7. Refunds: No entry will be refunded after the entry closing date, without the production of a Doctor’s or Vet’s certificate within 3 days of the event. 8. Hats: All competitors must wear a protective Helmet manufactured to the minimum standards stated in the current Pony Club Rules. When mounted the chinstrap must be fastened at all times. Hats will be inspected when collecting numbers. 9. Medical Arm Bands are recommended at all times and must be worn on the arm or shoulder. 10. A Body Protector, to the Pony Club specifications may be worn in line with the current Pony Club Rules. 11. Air Jackets may be worn in line with the current Pony Club rules. 12. No jewellery or piercings may be worn. 13. Horses/ponies must not be exercised near horseboxes. Please park where instructed by the stewards. 14. Please ensure that your horse/pony has an up to date vaccination certificate, which is available to be checked on the day if required. 15. EACH HORSE/PONY MAY ONLY JUMP ONCE IN ANY CLASS. 16. EACH HORSE/PONY MAY ENTER ONLY 3 SHOWJUMPING CLASSES. 17. Entries will accepted on the day, space permitting. Late entries £2.00 CASH ONLY extra per class. 18. Competitors must keep aware of ring progress to avoid conflicting/missing classes. Every effort will be made to accommodate clashes of classes. 19. All lead reins must be attached to either the noseband or a headcollar. 20. Horses and ponies must be over 4 years old on the day of the competition. 21. Please take all your litter home. Parking will be in a grazing paddock, please poo pick after your pony and do not muck out trailers or lorries in the parking area.
