Classes 1,2,3,and 4 OPEN TO ALL, INCLUDING MEMBERS OF BRITISH EVENTING.

Classes 1B, 2B, 3B and 4B restricted to current members of British Riding Clubs.

Show Information

Classes 1,2,3, and 4 OPEN TO ALL, INCLUDING MEMBERS OF BRITISH EVENTING.

Classes 1B, 2B, 3B and 4B are restriceted to current members of the British Riding Club

Classes 1,2,3, and 4  will be split into two age ranges, senior and juniors (18-years-and-under). Whilst the qualifiers will see all age groups compete together, the Championship Final will see Juniors (18 years-and-under at the time of the Championships) compete across the latter two days of the Final with Seniors competing across the initial two days.

Rules: Run in accordance with the Rules of British Eventing. The course will be in the large outdoor arena and will consist of approx. 6 -8  numbered show jumps followed by 8-10 simulated knock down cross country fences. The whole round will be timed. Penalties will be given as per the table below. 

  • First Disobedience - 4 penalties
  • Second disobedience -  8 penalties
  • Third disobedience - elimination.
  • Knock down of obstacle - 4 penalties
  • Fall of horse - Elimination
  • Fall of rider - Elimination
  • Every commenced second in excess of the optimum time 0.4 penalties
  • Every commenced second in excess of 5 seconds under the optimum time 0.4 penalties 
  • Exceeding time allowed (Time allowed is twice the optimum time)
  • Error of course - Elimination
  • Retaking of obstacle already jumped - Elimination
  • The judges decision is final.

The winner will be the competiitor with the lowest number of penalties.In case of equality closest to the optimum time will win. The optimum time is calculated on a speed of 325m/min

Riders must dress in full X-Country colours and BODY PROTECTORS MUST be worn. No watches will be permitted. Hats as per current BE rules.

Classes 1B, 2B,3B and 4B will be run under British Riding Club Rules. All information can be found in the British Riding Club Rules Book https://www.bhs.org.uk/media/1z3n0vwi/brc-handbook-2023-final.pdf. It is important that competitors are aware of the rules relating to this competition.

All hats must have a visible PINK BRC/BE/PC hat tag in place before they are used for warming up and competing to show that it meets current safety standards. There will be a trained official on the day to do this for you if your hat does not currently have one. For up to date hat rules please see current handbook.

 

 

Payment Details & Event Fees

Entries accepted in advance using our Secure Online Entry System only.
Payment is secure and it goes directly to West Wilts EC. You will receive an email confirmation of your class entry and payment. Late Entry Fee: £3.00 

For classes 1B, 2B, 3B and 4B all riding club entrants must pay a prelim entry of £46 per team or £13 per individual to British Riding Clubs at least 21 dyas before the date of the qualifier (25th February 2023)

Late prelim entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser with a late surcharge of £20 per team and £10 per individual.

Withdrawals/Refunds

Withdrawals, Refunds and Entry Policy
All competitions are pre-entry only, no refund or transfer is possible after initial close of entries date as published on the schedule.
All withdrawals to be made via e-mail please.
The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
For withdrawals before the published closing date refunds of the Entry Cost can be made less £3.00 Admin Fee alternatively, we can offer a free transfer to another event.
No refunds or transfers can be made during the late entry period unless we are able to replace it from a wait list.
Please see relevant rule books for additional policies in place for British Dressage, British Show Jumping and British Eventing.

Abandonment Policy
In the case of abandonment of a competition for any reason we will offer a free transfer towards an alternative competition – or a refund minus a £3.00 admin fee. The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.

Terms & Conditions

· All entries and payments to be made online.
· Any visitor who displays any symptoms or suspects they may have contracted Covid-19 is asked not to attend the venue.
· ALL horses must not be under current investigation for infectious diseases including, for example, Equine Herpes Virus (EHV), Equine Influenza, Strangles.
· All Horses must not have been in contact with and is not kept on the same premises as a horse known to have or be under investigation for the neurological form of EHV, Equine Influenza, Strangles or Equine Viral Arteritis.
· All activity will be in accordance with the advice from the relevant national body, and ANY social distancing guidelines must always be adhered to.
· HORSES/PONIES MUST NOT BE LEFT TIED UP OUTSIDE UNATTENDED.
· Please do not park in front of or block access to the loading bay.
· PLEASE PRINT/MAKE YOUR OWN ALLOCATED RIDER NUMBER OR USE YOUR NUMBER DISKS. NUMBERS WILL BE ALLOCATED WITH TIMES. THIS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES AND MUST BE EASILY READABLE.
· NO spectators or filming are allowed in any of the warm-up or competition arenas. Please use viewing areas.
· Warm up time may be limited by numbers allowed in arena to an estimated 30 – 40 minutes.
· You are expected to ride on your allocated times. If you do not do so, you risk being unable to compete.
· DRESSAGE SHEETS - Please email us for a copy or leave an A5 Large Letter Stamped Addressed HARD BACKED Envelope for rosettes or an ordinary SAE for dressage sheets only.
· PLEASE CLEAR UP ANY DROPPINGS OR HAY IN THE LORRY PARK.
· Dogs are allowed but MUST be kept on a short lead at all times. No Exceptions.
