Tattersalls RoR Former Racehorse Challenge
Info:
Tattersalls RoR Former Racehorse Challenge Show Series Qualifier 2022 - Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years or over on the 1st January 2022. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and should be plaited. All entries must be registered with RoR and HAVE raced in GB. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series. The first three go forward to the final at The Jockey Club RoR National Championships, Aintree, 27th August 2022. The judge will NOT ride. Horses may be stripped for conformation at the discretion of the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force’. The class to be judged 50% jumping, 20% Style while jumping and performance and 30% awarded for show, manners and suitability to be retrained.
PHASE 1
Jumping to be judged: 8 rustic jumps 3 foot (90cm) to 3 foot 3 inches (1 metre) with a maximum spread of 95 centimeters). The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round: 10 points to be deducted for a knock down. 15 points to be deducted for a refusal, 20 points for second refusal. Elimination for third refusal or fall or Error of Course.
PHASE 2
Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. (In some classes, at the judge’s discretion, horses might be asked to do a ‘show’ following their jumping without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a large number in the class). Each horse to complete an individual show of no longer than 1 ½ minutes. Show to include the following movements: Walk, Trot, canter showing change of leg, extended canter (gallop) halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Total marks out of 30% for Show, manners and suitability to be retrained. Fences for the final at Aintree can be up to a maximum of 3’6” (1.05 metre). Prizes : Rosettes and Vouchers 1st to 3rd place. 1st £30 plus RoR prize, 2nd £20 3rd £10. RoR prizes will not be awarded to RoR qualifiers with numbers forward of two or less, however qualification for the final will stand. Veteran prize (15+): £20 voucher to be redeemed from RoR office and qualification for the Veteran Final at The Jockey Club National Championships at Aintree, 27th August 2022

SSA Side Saddle Concours d’elegance

The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Adult and Junior Members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. N.B. Silk hats are permitted to be worn by Adults IN THIS CLASS AT ANY TIME OF DAY. Juniors must wear hats to current Safety standards or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

SSA Classical Ladies Side Saddle Qualifier

Open to SSA Adult Members and Non-members, aged 18 and over on January 1st of the current year, riding side saddle, on horses exceeding 148cm (14.2hh). To be judged 25% conformation and action, 25% manners & way of going, 25% rider, and 25% turnout of horse & rider, by a SHBGB, BSHA, BSPS, P(UK) or SSA Panel Judge. Judges may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits; horses will not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy Dress and Period Costumes NOT permitted. NB Silk hats are permitted to be worn in this class AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Judges are requested to use the mark sheet provided. The highest placed horse/rider combination qualifies for the Final to be held at the National Side Saddle Show. In the event of previous qualification, this may be passed down to fourth place. Special rosettes are offered by Mrs T Mitchell & Mr L Mitchell to the winner and if the winner has already qualified, a second rosette is awarded with the Qualification Card. Qualifying combinations are required to become Full Members of the SSA 21 days prior to the National Side Saddle Show or as soon as possible if qualified after that date to be eligible to be eligible to compete at the Final. Combinations qualifying between one National Side Saddle Show and the next may carry forward the qualification, for that year only. The four highest placed Riding Horse, Hack (not ex 160cm), Cob or Hunter, Mare or Gelding, 4 years and over, ridden by a SSA Adult Member qualify for the current year’s BSHA Championship Show Mears Ladies Show Horse Championship and if already qualified the ticket will go to the next highest placed horse down to 5th place. Combinations qualifying after the current year’s BSHA Championship Show may carry forward the qualification, to the following year. SSA Members who qualify for The Mears Ladies Show Horse Championship, will not be required to join the BSHA in order to compete in any Side Saddle class at the BSHA National Championship Show. If the BSHA Championship Show entries have closed at the time of qualification, competitors will not be charged a late entry fee for the Championship

Riders/Owners need not be a member or their exhibit registered with CHAPS at the time of qualification, but in order to compete at the Championships, the Rider/Owner must be a showing member and their horse/pony registered with CHAPS before entering the final. 1. Conditions of entry - the object of the Society in offering prizes for neat livestock is to promote improvements in the breeding of stock. Judges will be instructed to disqualify all animals exhibited as store stock if, in their opinion, such animals are over fed for breeding purposes. Where animals are adjudged to be of equal merit, preference will be given to purebred animals. 2. Ownership of animals - every exhibit must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor at the time of entry. 3. Entries to be made in writing - forms of entry for the various classes will be found in the appropriate schedule. Other written entries will be accepted provided that all the information required is given. All entries must be signed and forwarded to the Secretary by the closing date for the class. No extension of closing dates will be permitted. The fees and closing dates for the classes are found in the schedules. 4. Correctness of Entries - every Exhibitor shall be held responsible for the correctness of his or her entry. If when called upon to prove its correctness the exhibitor fails to do so, the entry may not be accepted, cancelled if already accepted, or the exhibit may be disqualified. 5. Entries from minors - entries from persons under 18 years of age shall only be accepted where the entry has been countersigned by the exhibitor’s parent, trustee or guardian, who shall be held responsible for the correctness of the entry and for compliance with the regulations of the show. Any entry made in contravention of this rule and inadvertently accepted may be cancelled. 6. Judges interest in entries - Exhibitors are particularly requested to note the name of the judge appointed for all classes which they wish to enter and are advised in the interests of all concerned not to knowingly enter an animal which has been owned or bred by the judge. Where the judge has a continuing business or financial relationship with an exhibitor he/she should not judge an animal entered by that exhibitor whether or not the animal concerned forms part of that business relationship. Where the judge has had a past financial or breeding interest in an animal he/she should not judge it. In such cases the Ring Steward in conjunction with the Chief Steward will make arrangements for the exhibit to be finally placed by another judge. 7. Substitution of Judges - the Committee reserve the right in their absolute discretion to change the identity of the judge for any classes from the one previously announced. 8. Entries not accepted - the Society may in their absolute discretion refuse to accept any entry, the entry will be returned along with any fee and no correspondence will be entered into with regard to the non-acceptance. 9. Number of entries - any number of entries may be made, unless otherwise stated in the class schedule, in each class upon the payment of the appropriate fee. 10. Nomination of exhibits - the name of the Exhibit (except in the case of commercial sheep and cattle) together with its sex must be stated on the certificate of entry. In Horse classes it must be stated whether the exhibit is a colt, gelding, filly, mare or stallion. Substitutions are not permitted in any of the classes except in the show jumping section. In other classes only the nominated animal will be permitted to parade for judging. 11. Age of exhibits - Pedigree Cattle and Goat Classes, date of birth of each animal must be stated on entry. Horse and sheep the year of birth must be stated in the entry. There are no restrictions as to date of birth or date of purchase of horses competing in the show jumping classes. Exhibitors are advised to check in the class schedule for particular age requirements relating to the class in which they are exhibiting. 12. Identification of exhibits - Exhibits shall only be identified by the Show number corresponding to the list in the Entry Book kept by the Secretary and by no other means. This does not apply to owner’s security markings or ear tags. 13. Cancellation of Classes - In the event of there being insufficient entries the Society reserves the right, in its absolute discretion to amalgamate or cancel classes. If the class is cancelled the entry fees will be returned. Exhibitors will be informed before the show if this is being done. 14. Withholding Prizes - a judge may withhold any prize or prizes if, in his/her opinion, an exhibit is of insufficient merit. 15. Number of Prizes – Animals competing in more than one class shall be eligible to take more than one prize 16. Exhibitors Risk and Responsibility - Neither the SOCIETY NOR ANY OF ITS OFFICERS OR SERVANTS SHALL BE IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE or accountable for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to exhibitors or their servants or agents or to any exhibit or to any vehicle carrying any exhibit or anything else brought into the Showground or for anything else arising out of the Society’s Show. EACH EXHIBITOR shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss or injury or damage done to or commissioned by or arising from any animal or article exhibited by him or her and shall indemnify the Society against all legal or other proceedings in regard thereto. All exhibitors MUST have minimum Public Liability Insurance cover of £1 million in place. A copy of your Public Liability Insurance Certificate MUST accompany your entry form. 17. Trophies and Prize Money – Trophies can be collected from the Trophy Secretary after the Grand Parade. For Light Horse classes, Prize money will be paid on the day of the show only. Prize cards will be awarded in the class and exhibitors are requested to go to the Light Horse Secretary's tent after 11am on the day of the show. Any prize money not collected will be deemed a donation to the show and will not be paid out. Exhibitors are responsible for the safekeeping, whilst in their possession, and return of the trophies before the show. 18. Parade of Exhibits –All first, second, third and trophy winners in the various Livestock Section (with the exception of goats) MUST parade in the Grand Parade. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of prize money. Sheep Champions will be expected to parade – trailers will be provided to transport Sheep Champions to the Main Ring. THIS IS NOT APPLICABLE TO LIGHT HORSES 19. Time for Delivery of Exhibits - unless the class schedule states otherwise, all exhibits must be on the showground by 8.30am on the show day or one hour before the stated judging time (excluding light horses). In the case of unavoidable delay judges have discretion to permit admission. Any infringement of this rule may result in the disqualification of the exhibit. 20. Removal of Exhibits - livestock (other than light horses) may not be removed from the Showground until after the Grand Parade. Other exhibits may not be removed until 5.00pm on the day of the Show or in the case of on-going classes before the close of the day’s events. 21. Protests - any exhibitor wishing to lodge a protest against any other exhibitor must do so at the Secretary’s Office not later than 5.00pm on the day of the show, or in the case of on-going classes, not later than the close of the day’s events, on the day upon which the class is being judged. The protester must lodge a fee of £15 for each protest, which shall be forfeit if the protest is found to have been frivolous or vexatious by the Council of the Society. Member of the Council having an interest in a protest shall not be present when that protest is considered by the Council. 22. Disputes - any dispute as to the interpretation of these rules, or with regard to the determination of any matter arising out of their infringement or any protest lodged by an exhibitor at the show shall be referred to the Council of the Society for settlement whose decision shall be final and binding. 23. Health and Safety Regulations at Agricultural Shows - In accordance with Health and Safety Regulations all livestock exhibitors/stock attendants and all horse exhibitors and competitors must comply with the above. 24. All Animals must be Restrained - by halter, tether, leash or other means except as required at the time of judging. In the Livestock Section every animal must have secure headgear at the time of judging and all animals must be double tied to the cattle lines 25. Conduct of Exhibitors and their Servants - Exhibitors shall be responsible for the behaviour of their servants or agents and for the consequences of any misconduct of any servants or agents. 26. The Judge’s Decision shall be final. 27. Litter - It is the responsibility of Exhibitors to remove all litter (except animal bedding) accruing in their display area. Failure to do so will result in the cost incurred being recoverable from the Exhibitor. 28. Sale of Food and Drink - is strictly prohibited unless prior authorization has been granted in writing by the General Secretary. 29. Variation in Rules - where there is variation between the rules of the Society and those of other events, breed societies and other associated bodies, then the rules of the Derbyshire Agricultural & Horticultural Society shall take precedence and in all cases the decision of the Council of the Society shall be final. 30. Data Protection - Exhibitors names and address will be published in show publications unless the Society is specifically instructed otherwise. 31 Refunds – Under no circumstances will Entry fees be refunded in the case of cancellation of entries by an Exhibitor. 32. Cancellation Policy – The Society reserves the right to postpone, cancel, abandon or curtail the Show. Where such decision arises from directives, happenings or circumstances outside the control of the Society, the Society will refund fees, once any administration fees have been deducted. The Society will not be under any liability for any loss or damage (whether direct or indirect, consequential or otherwise) arising from or caused by a cancellation, abandonment or curtailment.

Light Horse rules 1. The submission of any entries via the online system or by post signifies acceptance of all Derbyshire County Show rules and conditions. 2. All entries must be accompanied by the full payment. 3. Any payment that must be represented to the bank for whatever reason will be subjected to a £25.00 administration fee for each occasion. 4. No entries will be accepted on the day of the show. 5. Derbyshire County Show reserve the right to cancel any class or section without being required to assign reason or being liable for any compensation. In these circumstances’ entry fees will be refunded. 6. Derbyshire County Show reserve the right to amend/amalgamate or split classes and or sections if they deem fit. 7. No entry fees will be refunded after the closing date except on production of a relevant doctors/veterinary certificate. 8. Entries for affiliated classes or qualifiers will also be bound by the Rules and Conditions in force at the time of showing applicable to that Association and the class in which they are exhibiting. It is deemed by Derbyshire County Show that Competitors/Exhibitors are conversant with any such rules, conditions or directives. 10. It is the responsibility of Competitors/Exhibitors to ensure all property and livestock on the Showground for which he/she is responsible has the appropriate insurance including public liability. 11. There are Horse walks in operation, no trotting or cantering is allowed. All horses and ponies, ridden and in-hand MUST keep within these designated routes. Competitors/Exhibitors, grooms and other associated persons must comply with any instructions from Officials, Stewards and signage around the Showground. 12. All Competitors/Exhibitors are expected to comply with Horse Passport legislation and bring the appropriate documentation with them to the Show and to be responsible for the documentation at all times. Spot checks may be carried out. 13. All Competitors/Exhibitors are required to ensure that all animals that enter the showground are fit and well. If anyone has reason to believe that an animal is unfit, please report this to a show official. 14. Equine Influenza - All horses and ponies MUST have completed a course of Equine Influenza vaccinations with a licensed vaccine prior to entering the Showground. Competitors/exhibitors must ensure that the horse (or pony) has received two injections for primary vaccination against equine influenza given no less than 21 days and no more than 92 days apart. As a minimum these two injections must have been given before a horse/pony can attend the show. In addition, if sufficient time has elapsed a first booster injection must be given no less than 150 days and no more than 215 days after the second injection of the primary vaccination. Subsequently an annual booster injection must be given at intervals of not more than 365 days. A valid vaccination history and certificate of vaccination must be available for inspection on request. Spot checks may be undertaken on the Showground. 15. Warming up areas and designated exercise areas are provided, Competitors/Exhibitors must ensure that these are used appropriately. Warming up/exercising outside of these areas is strictly prohibited. 16. Competitor/Exhibitor numbers must be worn/clearly displayed at all times whilst mounted. Competitors/ Exhibitors must enter the ring wearing/displaying the correct rider/handler/exhibit combination number 17. Horses/ponies must enter and leave the ring at a walk. 18. All ridden animals must be four years old and over, the age of the animal will be calculated at the 1st of January in the year of its birth. 19. It is expected that all Competitors/Exhibitors enter their horse/pony for the appropriate classes, this includes height restricted classes. 20. It is the responsibility of the Competitor/Exhibitor to present themselves on time for their class at the entrance to the ring. 21. Derbyshire County Show will do all it can to facilitate the smooth running of classes enabling Competitors/Exhibitors to compete in all their entered classes. However, classes may clash, if this occurs Competitors/Exhibitors must nominate in which class they wish to compete. 22. Derbyshire County Show reserve the right to substitute other Judges for those announced in the Schedule or Catalogue for any who may be unavoidably prevented from attending. All entries are accepted on this understanding and no refund of entry fees can be made where a substitute is necessary. Where possible, any amendments to the Schedule will be posted on the Facebook Page and website www.derbyshirecountyshow.org.uk 23. It is a requirement of the show that all Competitors/Exhibitors, under the age of 18 years old, MUST wear a correctly secured current British Standard (or above) Skull Cap/Riding Hat whilst mounted. All Competitors/Exhibitors, under the age of 14 years old, leading a Horse/Pony MUST wear a correctly secured current British Standard (or above) Skull Cap/Riding Hat. Derbyshire County Show strongly recommends that all other Competitors/Exhibitors wear a correctly secured current British Standard (or above) Skull Cap/Riding Hat whilst mounted. Anyone not following this recommendation do so at their own risk and Derbyshire County Show accept no liability. 24. Any horse/pony, which is not under the complete control of a competent rider/handler or in any way constitutes a danger, will be asked to leave the Showground. 25. Body Protectors may be worn and are recommended whilst competing in Working Hunter 26. Stallions and Colts must be adequately bitted, handlers must be aged 14 years old or over, unless otherwise stated/an affiliated society regulation 27. Foals must be at least 3 weeks old on the day of the show. 28. Any suitable bit is acceptable in all classes, unless otherwise stated/ an affiliated society regulation 29. Boots (including over-reach boots) are permissible in the Jumping phase of any Working Hunter competitions but they must be removed before the conformation phase. At no other time is a change of tack permitted. 30. Anyone found mistreating a pony or horse may be asked to leave the Showground and may be refused entry in future. 31. Show canes or whips to be no longer than 75 cms/30 inches, with the exception of side saddle classes. 32. Dogs must be kept on a short lead and under control at all times whilst on the showground. Please ensure you clean up after your dogs. 33. A fall of horse or rider while mounted in any class will result in disqualification and they MUST leave the ring dismounted. If an animal gets loose from its handler whilst in the ring it will also result in disqualification. 34. No Competitor/Exhibitor will be permitted to enter the class once the gate is closed and the horses/ponies have been asked to trot. Exhibits may not leave the ring without prior permission from the Judge 35. Any Competitor/Exhibitor not complying with any of the rules of the Show can be disqualified. 36. Use of mobile phones in judging rings is prohibited. 37. Competitors/Exhibitors may not knowingly exhibit a horse/pony that has been bred, sold, leased, produced, broken, ridden or trained by the Judge and/or his/her immediate family or his/her employer or anyone with whom he/she resides. 38. Judges will not knowingly judge a horse/pony that has been bred, sold, leased, produced, broken, ridden or trained by them or their immediate family, employer or anyone with whom he/she resides 39. Derbyshire County Show reserve the right to move classes between rings if the need arises. Classes will not start before the time stated in the schedule. Any changes will be announced, and current information will be available in the secretary’s tent.
