The Open Novice is to be run as an additional section to the Novice competition. Area Competitions may run up to two Open Novice sections if they have more than 20 competitors. If two sections are run, only the 1st placed competitor in each section will qualify for the Championships. If one section is run the 1st and 2nd placed competitors will qualify for the Championships

Class 7 Grassroots Regional qualifier test may be commanded. Tests in classes 2a & b, 3a &b,5a, b &c cannot be commanded.

Whips can be carried in all classes.

Tests can be commanded in these classes, entries will be restricted, entries accepted in order of receipt/correct payment

Entry Fee: £20.00 per competitor to include First Aid.    Classes 1, 4 and 6 are not qualifiers for The Pony Club Championships.

Withdrawals/Refunds

There will be no refund of entry unless a Doctor’s or Vet’s certificate is produced. If the event is cancelled, £3 from the entry fee will be retained for administrative expenses and the balance will be refunded only on receipt of an s.a.e. within 10 days of the event.

Terms & Conditions

COMPETITORS AT AREA DRESSAGE COMPEITIONS

Competitors will assist Stewards in the efficient running of area competition:

  • Competitor’s numbers will not be provided.  Competitors should print them for insertion into their own bib;
  • Competitors are required to report their presence to the Tack Steward while riding 20 minutes before their starting time, and being on hand nearer the time to receive the Steward’s signal to go to the arena;
  • Competitors should ride where directed close to arena, as soon as the previous competitor has made his exit;
  • Competitors should ensure that they are conforming to all the rules of The Pony club, particularly regarding dress and saddle;
  • Competitors should begin their test without delay on receiving the judges’ signal to start;
  • On a signal being given for error of course, the judge shows the competitor if necessary, the point at which he must take up the test again and the next move to be executed.

ELIGIBILITY

The District Commissioner or Centre Proprietor is required to certify the eligibility of horse and rider as follows. Should a breach of eligibility subsequently be discovered, then the Dressage Committee may disqualify the offending competitor. Members must fulfil all the Pony Club Dressage Rule book eligibility on the day of the Area Competition.

Rules and Conditions:

 

  1. The classes will be judged in accordance with the 2022 Pony Club Dressage Rule book https://pcuk.org/media/psedy2xm/rulebook-dressage-web-v22-1-2.pdf
  2. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organizers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
  3. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organizers and all officials and stewards.
  4. The Southdown East Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for members or non-Members and their insurance will not cover you.

  6. In the event of cancellation, £5.00 of the entry will be retained to defray costs.
  7. While every care will be taken, the organisers hereby give notice that, to the extent permitted by law, they accept no responsibility for any injury, damage loss or expense whatsoever or howsoever caused, arising out of or in any way connected with this event.
  8. The decision of the judge is final. Objections are to be made to the Chief Steward in writing, within half an hour of the disputed event, together with a deposit of £25 which will be refunded should the objection be upheld.
  9. Horses or ponies must not be left tied to outside of lorry/trailer, this is a condition of the showground.
  10. Horses or ponies must be over four years old on the day of the competition.
  11. No horse or pony may be ridden more than once in any class.
  12. No galloping or lunging anywhere on the showground, riders must only walk their horses/ponies in the car park.
  13. No fees will be refunded without a vet’s or doctor’s certificate.
  14. Vaccination certificates must accompany all horse/ponies attending this event, see Pony Club Dressage Rulebook 2022, Page 31-32. Vaccination certificates must be presented for inspection when collecting numbers.
  15. Dogs are NOT allowed.
  16. The Official Steward has the absolute discretion to forbid the use of any bit, gadget or spur which the Official Steward considers cruel or misused.
  17. The Official Steward can eliminate any competitor.
