Start time: Approx. 16:00. Class will be run as Single Phase** under Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2022. Teams will consist of four PC members, only one of which may be an Associate member. The scores of all team members will count. The height of fences will be 75cm to 85cm for two team members and 90cm to 1m for the second two team members. ** Single Phase (BS rule 287) BS Table A – both
sections. Faults are to be accumulated over both sections. First and second sections
with a time allowed and time limit. The second section is against the clock. The
competitor will jump the whole course unless eliminated. There will be 5-7 fences in
each section (minimum 10 fences, maximum 13 overall).

Tack and turnout according to PC rules 2022.
Body protectors advised but not compulsory.
There will be a photographer at this event, if you do not want your child’s

TATTERSALLS ROR FORMER RACEHORSE CHALLENGE SHOW
SERIES QUALIFIER 2022
Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 years or
over on the 1st January 2022. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and
should be plaited. All entries must be registered with RoR and HAVE raced in
GB. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series
The judge will NOT ride. Horses may be stripped for conformation at the
discretion of the judge.
The first three go forward to the final at The Jockey Club RoR National
Championships, Aintree, 27th August 2022
Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those
entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the
Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force.
The class to be judged 50% jumping, 20% Style while jumping and performance
and 30% awarded for show, manners and suitability to be retrained.
PHASE I
Jumping to be judged:
8 rustic jumps 3 feet (90cm) to 3 foot 3 inches (1.00m), with a maximum spread of
95cm.
The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round:
10 points to be deducted for a knock down.
15 points to be deducted for a refusal.
20 points for second refusal.
Elimination for third refusal or fall or Error of Course.
PHASE II
Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show / conformation. In
some classes, at the judge’s discretion, horses might be asked to do a ‘show’
following the jumping without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a large
number in the class. Each horse to complete an individual show of no longer than 1
1⁄2 minutes. Show to include the following movements: Walk, Trot, canter showing
change of leg, extended canter (gallop) halt and stand, walk-off on long rein.

TATTERSALLS ROR AMATEUR RIDDEN SHOW SERIES QUALIFIER 2022 (Note: this class will follow 17a)
Open to all RoR and NR competition registered horses, 4yrs and over, mares and geldings, owned, produced and ridden by an Amateur. Riders must be 15
years or over on the 1st January 2022. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle,
Pelham or simple double bridle with a plain cavasson noseband. Horses
should be plaited.
The Series is open to AMATEURS only – those employed in racing will be
allowed to compete. Class will be judged under ‘riding horse’ format without
‘type’ being taken into consideration. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE
IGNORED in this series.
This class is a qualifier for the Tattersalls RoR Amateur Ridden Show Series
FINAL. The Judge will not ride at the qualifiers. The first three go forward to the
final to be held at the Hickstead Derby Meeting, June 2023. Also Qualifies for
South West Pony Association (SWPA) Championship.
Amateur definition:
The rules are as in the rulebook with the following addition that an amateur may not
show a horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm. In addition a
person classed as amateur must not be supported by a company in any way or act as
brand ambassador whether financially or in-kind.
An amateur is a person who for the purpose of RoR classes does not/has not during the
current season or previous season: Engage (d) in breeding, livery, buying or selling,
dealing or hiring horses in a commercial capacity.
Horses must not have been stabled at or reside in a Professional Producer's/Trainer's
yard from January 1st 2022. Riders must not have ridden any animals produced by a
Professional/Trainer in the current or previous season. Horses and riders must not
receive any help from a Professional Producer/Trainer at a SHOW in the current season.
A rider who has ridden for a Professional/Producer Trainer in the current or previous
season must not have ridden horses at a show. Any breaches of this ruling will be taken
seriously and will result in disqualification from future classes.

BEST SHOD AWARDS The Best Shod Awards is a competition sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Farriers, for the Best Shod Horse in the Working Hunter Section, Class 9 Open Working Hunter. The Worshipful Company of Farriers will present a rosette, an Inscribed Card and a brass plaque to the Winner. A brass plaque is also presented to the Registered Farrier responsible for the winner's feet and shoeing. The Judge will examine each horse/pony before or during the line-up for preliminary judging, taking into consideration; The condition of the feet The making (or preparation) and fitting of the shoes The Nailing and the position of the clips Normal shoes and showing plates are equally acceptable, providing they are suitable for the horse/pony.
The Committee have the right to refuse entries without having to assign any reason. Any entry fee paid will not be returnable unless the animal is incapacitated by accident, injury or illness. Any claim under this rule must be made in writing to the Secretary and must be accompanied by a certificate issued by a Veterinary Surgeon by the day of the show. E-tickets for entry into the showground (3 per competitor) will be e-mailed in the week prior to the show. If not received by 24th June please ring 07790331009. Extra tickets can be purchase on Berkeley show website. Prize money will be given out on show day. Winners of cups/trophies are asked to collect and sign for them from the Secretary’s tent located by the Hunter ring. A £20 deposit will be required. Winning exhibitors are asked to make their own arrangements re engraving. All cups/trophies are perpetual and are to be held for the period between shows. All cups/trophies must be returned clean, in good condition in time for the 2023 show. No un-authorised person may enter the show ring or collecting ring. All exhibits are shown at their owner’s risk. All competitors and grooms will follow the Judge’s/Steward instructions. No person shall interfere with or try to influence the judge from inside or outside the ring; or the going of an exhibit. The Association, its officers or staff shall not be responsible for any accident, damage or loss, however caused, that may occur to any exhibitor, groom, or any animal, article or property, whilst on the showground or whilst entering or leaving. The organisers reserve the right to vary the order or composition of the schedule according to circumstances and to substitute judges from those named, or to make additional appointments as required. Objections, which can only be lodged by competitors in the class concerned, must be in writing and delivered to the Secretary within 30 minutes on completion of judging of class involved. A deposit of £30 must accompany the objection, which will be forfeited if the objection is unsuccessful. The decision of the Committee will, in any dispute, be final. It is the competitors’ responsibility to wear the correct clothing for their classes. Please check with the association under whose rules you are competing. All riders must wear the correct headgear with the chinstrap securely fastened when mounted anywhere on the showground. Hats must be in accordance with the appropriate Society’s rules and regulations. The riding and in hand showing of stallions – competitors should refer to their society rules and comply explicitly. All horses and ponies brought to the show must be in perfect health and not have been in contact with any animal suffering from an infection or disease. We advise a flu vaccination in the last 12 months if there is an outbreak near the event a vet will be present to check passports. All British Showjumping horses must have been vaccinated within the last 12 months, see BS Rulebook. It is the responsibility of the competitor to arrive on the show ground at least one hour before the scheduled time of their class to allow for traffic congestion in the vicinity of the showground. The timetable is an approximate guide only and the Show Committee reserve the right to alter ring allocation or the timing of classes as may be necessary. The Secretary and Team will make every effort to avoid clashes of classes, but it is the Competitors' responsibility to be at the correct ring for their class and or inform the Secretary and Team of any potential clash. Classes will not be held up for more than 20 minutes in the case of a clash. Although every effort will be made, the Association will not be responsible for any loss where an exhibitor has made entries in more than one class, or because of a class overrun, it is not possible for the exhibitor to compete in one or more later classes. No claim for refund of fees paid or other loss, direct indirect or consequential will be accepted or paid. All competitors/exhibitors competing in any event shall be deemed to be subject to the rules and regulations of Berkeley Show. A Veterinary Surgeon and Farrier will be on call. Dogs must be kept on non-retractable leads whilst on the showground.
