As the health and safety of all visitors is paramount please ensure that you have read the below information as you will be asked to comply with these guidelines during the course of your visit. 

In line with biosecurity measures please have your passports available for inspection upon arrival at the centre. Horses must have up-to-date vaccinations and the organisers reserve the right to turn horses away from the competition if proof of vaccination records cannot be presented upon arrival.

 Paddocks cafe open throughout show hours serving hot and cold food, drinks and snacks in line with the latest social distancing guidelines.

By entering any equestrian class or competition run or held at Bury Farm EC you acknowledge that you are taking part in a risk sport and are a competent rider at the level to which you are competing.

Welcome to the OBH North Pony Club Open Show jumping Competition 2021 which includes the Pony Club Spring Festival Debut and Challenge preliminary rounds. Please read the rules regarding entries and on the day. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY RULES 1. ELIGIBILITY This competition is open to ALL 2. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason. 3. The competition is being run under Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2021 https://branches.pcuk.org/area7/files/2021/03/Show-Jumping-Rule-Book-2021.pdf . 4. The decision of the judges and stewards in all cases is final. 5. Excessive use of the whip, including repeated slapping down the shoulder, is prohibited. The whip may be used a maximum of three times during any round. 6. Use of the whip will be monitored and excessive use may result in elimination. 7. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis. 8. The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards. 9. Non-Pony Club competitors are not covered by The Pony Club insurance and must have their own third-party cover. OBH North Branch of The Pony Club and the organisers of this event are not legally responsible for non-members and their insurance will not cover you. 10.Horses and ponies must be four years or older on the day of the show. 11.All competitors must be suitably dressed in correct riding attire. Hats must be approved PAS015, EN1384 or BS EN1384 with BSI Kitemark and chin straps must be fastened at all times when mounted. 12.All entries must be accompanied by the correct fee this includes the cost of Paramedic Cover. 13.The Organisers reserve the right to alter the programme of events at their discretion and should the event be cancelled for any reason the Organisers reserve the right to retain a proportion of entry fees to cover their expenses. 14.The same horse or pony may be ridden by 2 different riders in class 1 & 2 only. No one can compete more than 3 horses / ponies in the same class. 15.Classes 4 and 5 will run under Pony Club Show Jumping 2021 Rule Book https://branches.pcuk.org/area7/files/2021/03/Show-Jumping-Rule-Book-2021.pdf and the Spring Festival Rule Book https://pcuk.org/media/qpgnupv3/sfsj-rules-engwal-2021- 22.pdf 16.No Substitution of entries after the closing date 17.All individual and team entries to be made online to www.horse-events.co.uk 18.Single Phase Competition (course in two parts with second part timed.) 19.Competitors to jump both parts unless eliminated. Faults to be accumulated. 19.Teams may include riders riding more than one horse / pony 20.Teams to consist of 3 or 4 riders, best 3 scores will count. Competitors jump only once whether individual or team 21.In the interests of safety and the smooth running of the event, all competitors and accompanying persons MUST follow the instructions of show officials, and this includes directions as to the parking of vehicles. 22.Horses/ponies tied to the outside of trailers/lorries must not be left unattended. 23.The area around your horse box/trailer must be tidy and all droppings removed 24.Tying of haynets on the outside of trailers/lorries is not permitted. 25.Dogs on a lead at all times. COVID-19 REGULATIONS IF APPLICABLE 1. Everyone on site must adhere to Government guidance 2. Social distancing AT ALL TIMES, anyone feeling unwell must NOT attend. 3. Park 5m away from the next vehicle. 4. Each rider may have only ONE supporter which may be a parent/driver/ groom. The supporter must be named on the Entry Form and checks will be made at the Lorry Park entrance. NO additional non-competing siblings or spectators are permitted. Children must not be left unattended at any time. 5. Warm-up arena will be stewarded and a maximum of 5 competitors (those due in jumping order) allowed at any time. 6. 1 supporter per competitor allowed in the warm-up arena. 7. The downstairs viewing is open to the supporter of the rider (no spectators) 8. There will not be a Secretary on the day – any objections must be made by email to Sue Palmer-Shaw @ oldberkeleynorth@pcuk.org no later than 4pm on the day of the competition 9. SAFETY TACK INSPECTION – due to Covid-19 there will not be a tack inspection but competitors (or the accompanying adult) are responsible for the safety of their equipment and compliance to Pony Club rules. 10. The cafe will be open - Face masks are mandatory in the café 11. ARRIVE / COMPETE / LEAVE 

 

1. The decision of the judges & stewards in all cases is final. They reserve the right to alter, amend or cancel any part of the competition or to refuse any entry without stating a reason.
2. The organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
3. The organisers will not be held responsible and accept no liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, rider, spectators, vehicles or their contents and accessories, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify against any legal action arising from such incident.
4. All competitors must be suitably dressed in correct riding attire to current British Safety Standards. Riding / Jodhpur boots must be worn for all classes. 
5. Horses & ponies tied to lorry or trailers must not be left unattended.
6. Please ensure the area around your horsebox / trailer is clean and tidy. Droppings collected and not swept onto or left on BFEC. Please take litter home or use the bins provided.
7. Children must be supervised at all times
8. Whilst outside arenas, horses and ponies should be moved at a walk only.
9. There is a vet on call. The expense of any veterinary services rendered either on or after the show must be borne by the competitor or owner of the horse / pony.
10. No dogs allowed, other than in Lorry Park Only and MUST be on a lead at all times
