Rules for British Showjumping Competitions in England from 19th July 2021 As you are aware during the COVID-19 pandemic, operational protocols have been implemented to enable the sport to continue to run. As COVID restrictions begin to ease in England and following consultation with the Members Council and National Sport Committee some of the protocols will remain and some have been amended. From the 19th July 2021 British Showjumping shows in England are required to continue to adhere to the following: All entries and payments to be completed online in advance of the show date. • Any day tickets must be obtained online prior to the close of entries. Show Organiser should implement a phased entry system with priority entry spaces for members followed by ticket entries. Times must be available 48 hours in advance of the show starting. • Specific individual timeslots to be allocated on close of entries minimum of 2 mins per combination. Show Organisers are required to consider allocation of times to riders to minimise time on venue for multiple rides or competitors jumping in multiple classes. • Judges app must be used to record results and results submitted electronically to British Showjumping. Rules for numbers in warm up arenas have been amended to: • A maximum of 8 horses/riders along with a maximum of two individuals permitted to alter practice fences. • For Gold League horse classes (1.40m and above) Show Organisers are permitted to allow 1 person per rider, in the warm up arena to alter practice fences. • The warm up area should be monitored by a steward / marshal to ensure that these restrictions are observed at all times.
British Showjumping strongly encourage Show Organisers to review the numbers you intend to permit in your warm up arenas, taking into account your facilities available, as well as considering the time required for competitors to adequately warm up whilst also ensuring warm up arenas remain safe and are not overcrowded. Each venues warm up rules should be clearly communicated in advance to all competitors. Should you wish to discuss your venues warm up rules please contact your Development Officer.
From 19th July in England all other restrictions stated in the British Showjumping COVID-19 protocols are no longer applicable. We do however remind Show Organisers that the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing and you should continue to ensure appropriate measures are in place to minimise spread of the disease and risk of infection.
