Starting Times:
All competitors will be issued times, or in the case of showing classes, class ‘not before’ times will be published on the Musketeer website. Times will be available by 19:00, two days before the start of the relevant competition.
This event is run under FEI regulations, meaning ALL horses on site must be identifiable with a number at ALL times. In light of COVID guidelines, back numbers will not be issued to competitors, so competitors must provide their own bridle number or print their own back number. Competitor numbers will be available to view on the Musketeer website before the event

Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or
over on the 1st January 2021. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double
bridle with a plain cavesson noseband. Horses should be plaited.
To take part in this class, horses must NOT have won an open ridden class under any affiliated
showing society including SEIB/HOYS, BSHA, SHB(GB) BSPS, BSPA, RoR Tattersalls Show Series
Qualifier, TARRA Ridden, RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier or any other open class
except RoR TBA Challenge Show Series or other Working Hunter type classes. Unaffiliated
Show wins are not taken into account.
Horses will be stripped for conformation.
Horses may remain in RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series classes until they have won (win)
3 RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series Qualifiers. They are de-noviced on their third novice
win or at midnight on the day they win an open class, whichever happens first. They are
still eligible to compete in the RoR Jockey Club Novice Final at the RoR National
Championships. The first three go forward to the Final at the RoR National Championships,
Aintree in August 2021.
All entries MUST have current RoR competition registration and have RACED in GB. The class
will be run under the rules of RoR. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show
agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time
in force. Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse’s last run in a race
(NH or Flat) should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form
accordingly. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.
Racing injuries and blemishes are NOT ignored in this series.

Open to all RoR and NR competition registered horses, 4yrs and over, mares and geldings,
owned, produced and ridden by an Amateur. Riders must be 15 years or over on the 1st

The Series is open to AMATEURS only – those employed in racing will be allowed to compete.
Class will be judged under ‘riding horse’ format without ‘type’ being taken into

This class is a qualifier for the RoR Amateur Ridden Show Series FINAL.
The Judge will not ride at the qualifiers but will ride in the final.

Amateur definition:
The rules are as in the rulebook with the following addition that an amateur may not show a
horse owned or sponsored by a company or commercial firm. In addition a person classed as
amateur must not be supported by a company in any way or act as brand ambassador
whether financially or in-kind. An amateur is a person who for the purpose of RoR classes
does not/has not during the current season or previous season:
o Engage (d) in breeding, livery, buying or selling, dealing or hiring horses in a
commercial capacity.
o Horses must not have been stabled at or reside in a Professional Producer's/Trainer's
yard from January 1st 2020
o Riders must not have ridden any animals produced by a Professional/Trainer in the
current or previous season.
o Horses and riders must not receive any help from a Professional Producer/Trainer at
a SHOW in the current season.
o A rider who has ridden for a Professional/Producer Trainer in the current or previous
season must not have ridden horses at a show.
o Any breaches of this ruling will be taken seriously and will result in disqualification
from future classes.

The first three go forward to the final at the RoR National Championships, Aintree in August
2021. The judge will NOT ride. Horses may be stripped for conformation at the discretion of the
judge.
Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering
horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses
Rules and Regulations.
FORMAT
The class to be judged 50% jumping, 20% Style while jumping and performance and 30%
awarded for show, manners and suitability to be retrained.
PHASE 1 (to take place in Arena 3)
Jumping to be judged:
8 rustic jumps 3’ (90cm) to 3’3” (1m) with a maximum spread of 95cm. Fences for the final at
Aintree can be up to a maximum of 3’6” (1.05m).
The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round:
10 points to be deducted for a knock down.
15 points to be deducted for a refusal.
20 points for second refusal.
Elimination for third refusal or fall or Error of Course.
PHASE 2
Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. (In some
classes, at the judge’s discretion, horses might be asked to do a ‘show’ following their jumping
without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a large number in the class)
Each horse to complete an individual show of no longer than 1 ½ minutes. Show to include
the following movements:
Walk, Trot, canter showing change of leg, extended canter (gallop) halt and stand, walk off
on long rein. Total marks out of 30% for Show, manners and suitability to be retrained.
RoR Prizes
Rosettes and Vouchers 1st - 3rd place: 1st £30 plus RoR prize, 2nd £20, 3rd £10. Veteran prize

Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st
January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working Show Horse class.
A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to
take through to the Ride and Conformation phases (if required). No change of Rider is allowed.
The 1st and 2nd placed competitors in class 82 will be invited to compete in the Working Hunter
Championship (CH10), taking place in Arena 6 directly after the Novice Working Hunter class (84)
This class is a qualifier for The SEIB Working Show Horse Championship to be held at the BSHA
National Championship Show in September. The two highest placed horses in the top five, not already
qualified, in each Open Working Show Horse class, will qualify for the Final; no Horse placed lower
than fifth will qualify.

This is an unaffiliated class and no membership is required to enter. Competitors must reside within
the county of Norfolk, or 30 miles from Houghton Hall. Classes will be judged in accordance with the
BSHA rules. Open to mares, geldings or stallions, 4 years old and over exceeding 148cms (14.2hh). Fences
will not exceed 90cm.
The 1st and 2nd placed competitors in class 83 will be invited to compete in the Working Hunter
Championship (CH10), taking place in Arena 6 directly after the Novice Working Hunter class (84).

This competition is for Working Hunters, any weight, mares, geldings or stallion (competing stallions
must have a red, white and blue ribbon displayed in their tail) four years old or over, exceeding 148cm,
to be ridden. Any horse which has qualified as a Grade A Show Jumper or Advanced Event Horse as
at 1st January in the current year is not eligible to compete in Working Hunter classes. All Riders,
Owners and Producers must be Members of the British Show Horse Association. Horses must be
registered with the British Show Horse Association.
Fences will not exceed 1.14m (3ft 9ins) in height, there should be a minimum of 8 fences and a
maximum of 12 fences. The course must contain a combination and should contain a water tray. This
class will be judged in two parts. Part One (Jumping) will be judged first, without a jump-off. All clear
rounds and any other horses the judges may require will go forward to the next part. A rider can ride
up to two horses in the jumping phase but then must select only one horse to take forward into the
ride and conformation section if so required (no change of rider is allowed).
This class will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show

Open to pure bred registered M&M stallions, mares and geldings, five years old or over. The owner must be a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS for the pony to enter this competition. Riders may only ride one pony in each class.

NUMBERS Horses must be identifiable with a number at all times whilst on site (FEI regulations). In light of COVID guidelines, back numbers will not be issued to competitors. We recommend that bridle numbers are provided by the competitor. Alternatively, competitors may choose to print their own numbers. Competitor numbers will be available on the Musketeer website prior to the event.
RIDER PACKS AND TICKETS Rider packs and vehicle passes will be sent via email approximately 1 week before the date of the show. The email address used when making the entry will be the email address this information is sent to, so please ensure you use the correct email address when making your entry.
EQUINE INFLUENZA Equine Influenza and Tetanus vaccinations are a compulsory requirement. The requirement for the first 3 vaccinations is as follows: the first 2 vaccinations 21 – 92 days apart, a third booster between 150-215 days, and an annual booster vaccination within 365 days thereafter. No horse should enter competitions within 7 days of an EI vaccination. Foals should commence vaccinations at 6 months old. This Rule may be subject to change from guidance from the FEI/BEF. PLEASE NOTE: Any FEI Eventing competitors wishing to bring additional horses for the non-eventing classes, but stable them in the International stable block with their FEI Eventing horses, must vaccinate them in accordance with FEI regulations. Any horses not vaccinated in accordance with FEI regulations will be stabled in the non-eventing stable block.

Stabling Information: Yes
WorkinStabling is available on-site in temporary stabling and can be booked online at the same time as making your entries. Stables can be booked from Tuesday 25th May to Sunday 30th May 2021. Stables can be accessed from 17:00 on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 16:00 on the day of departure. Stables must be fully mucked out on departure or competitors will be fined £20 per dirty stable (not applicable to those stabling for 3 nights or more). Bedding will not be provided, but Bedmax will be available to purchase on site for £8 per bale. Competitors must bring their own hay/haylage. Prices per stable are as follows; 1 night £ 60.00 2 nights £ 95.00 3 nights £125.00 4 nights £145.00 5 nights + £150.00 (Duration) Please note: Stabling for 1 or 2 night bookings is limited and in the case of over-subscription then those booked for 3 nights or more will take priority. STABLE BOOKINGS CLOSE FOR ALL CLASSES ON WEDNESDAY 12TH MAY 2021. Local stabling is also available from £25 per night within close proximity of the event and this can be booked via www.musketeer.co.uk. Enquiries to info@musketeer.co.uk.
The prizes listed are subject to change. Unless otherwise stated or dictated by governing bodies, 2nd place prize money will only be paid if there are 5 or more entries and 3rd place prize money will only be paid if there are 10 or more entries. Prize money winners will be contacted and required to submit an online claim form via our website so their winnings can be paid via BACS. This may take up to 2 weeks from submitting the form. Any prize money unclaimed by 20/06/21 will be forfeited.
RIGHT TO CANCEL OR ALTER CLASSES If there are insufficient entries, MEM reserves the right to cancel or amalgamate classes. Likewise, if there are large entries, classes may be split at the organiser’s discretion. Any changes to classes or the timetable will be published on; www.musketeer.co.uk/non-eventing
REFUNDS Entry and stabling fees are non-refundable, except in the case of a rider or animal incapacitated by accident, injury or illness. Any claim under this clause must be made in writing and must be accompanied by a certificate issued by a Veterinary Surgeon or Doctor to be received by the close of entries for the relevant classes. No claims made after the close of entries will be validated, unless the entry or stable booking can be replaced by another competitor. British Showjumping refund regulations apply to all British Showjumping classes.
CANCELLATION Please see the Musketeer cancellation policy, available on www.musketeer.co.uk. The refund for these classes will be in line with that of Unaffiliated Events. MEM will have no liability for expenses, consequential loss or damage suffered by competitors or their representatives as a result of cancellation. COVID-19: The event is due to take place after the 17th May, so it is anticipated we will be in Stage 3 of the Government Roadmap. However, should there be a delay in this then the event will run behind closed doors and the non-eventing competitions should still be able to take place.
SUBSTITUTION OF JUDGES The organiser reserves the right to substitute other judges for those printed in the schedule, should it be necessary. Efforts will be made to alert competitors to substitutions, but there may be circumstances which mean it has to be done without notice.
PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS Competitors are reminded that the decision of the judge is final. If a competitor chooses to lodge a complaint, then this must be made in writing to the Secretary within 1 hour of the alleged incident and pay a deposit of £20. The protest will be considered and investigated by a panel appointed by MEM, whose decision shall be final and from which there shall be no appeal. If the protest is not substantiated, the deposit will be forfeited.
HARD HATS Hard hats which comply with the latest British Standard (All PAS 015; VG1; ASTM F1163 04a onwards; SNELL E2001; AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards) must be worn & correctly secured by all competitors when mounted. It is strongly recommended that grooms handling horses or entering the ring wear conforming hard hats too. Body Protectors are recommended for all riders, but are compulsory in Arena Eventing classes.E
DOGS Dogs are very welcome but must be kept on leads at all times. Please clean up after your dog immediately COVID-19 It is a condition of entry that all competitors and their connections abide by the COVID regulations in place at the time of the event. This includes any instructions given by officials when on site. Full regulations will be available on our website prior to the event. Anyone in breach of these regulations may be asked to leave the showground immediately.
DISCLAIMER The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone attending this event. For these measures to be effective everyone present must themselves take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents. Instructions given by any Official must be obeyed. Any animal not under control or in any way constituting a danger may be asked to leave the showground. Owners enter their horses/ponies at their own risk, and it is a condition of entry that no liability of any kind attaches itself to Musketeer Event Management. Musketeer Event Management reserves the right to amend these terms, conditions and regulations as they see fit.
PERSONAL INJURY AND EQUIPMENT INSURANCE NOTICE Musketeer Event Management does not insure the rider, your horse or your tack and equipment. You are strongly advised to have in place your own adequate personal accident insurance. Neither Musketeer Event Management, the venue, nor anyone involved in the organisation of the event will be held responsible for any accident, injury or loss to any person or their property however this may be caused.
