What is a rally?
THRC rallies are organised for our junior members to learn, improve their riding skills and develop a more confident partnership with their pony whilst having fun! Lessons are non-competitive and non-pressurised with lots of positive encouragement and support. Groups are kept small and of similar ability where possible. From 2021, rallies are also open to non-members. Only THRC members are eligible to gain points for the Junior Rally Shield.

Rally Format: The usual format for a rally starts with tack and turnout, where pony and rider are marked on their turnout. These marks are kept secret as they will go towards the final points for the Junior Rally Shield. Tidy dress is expected - shirt, tie, jacket (or a jumper if you don’t have a jacket, but no hoodies) beige, black or blue jodhpurs and correct footwear and hat to current Riding Club standards. Please note: Juniors MUST wear long sleeves at all times. Next, you will be put into small groups for tuition in flatwork, poles/show jumping and stable management. Some groups might include gymkhana games and handy pony. Drinks and biscuits will be provided. Don’t forget to thank your instructor 😊 You will probably be tired and hungry, but please give your pony a haynet and a drink first.

This show complies with the current Government & BRC advice on social distancing due to COVID-19 (see below). This MUST be adhered to at all times. Details are also on www.tendringhundredrc.co.uk.
