Cats & Pipes Debut Championship Handicap Qualifier
Eligible Pony/Rider: -Open to registered ponies not exceeding 138cms, to be ridden by Junior Members,
ages in accordance with rule 77.12 & 77.13. This competition is open to all, however for
qualification purposes, those riders up to the end of the calendar year in which the age of 10 is reached are
eligible to enter irrespective of Points achieved. Riders aged 10 years and over on 1st January in the calendar
year, must not have won a total of 350 points in the 128cms section and 700 points in the 138cms section.
Rule: - Table A two rounds not against the clock, all equal in round one will go forward to round two over a
shortened course: - Speed 325mpm
Height of fences: - 128cms – 75 cms 138cms - 85 cms
Once riders have competed at, or “ever” qualified for RIHS or HOYS on any height pony they are no longer
eligible to compete in the Final. Once a Pony has qualified with any rider for RIHS or HOYS in the current
year, then it is not eligible to compete in this competition or the Final.
Numbers to qualify: - 2 double clears/dual qualification for the Stepping Stones Championships

in at least four Pony British Novice First Round competitions held in the qualifying period will qualify to compete in a
Pony British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings for prize money in those competitions, which will be
determined by the normal Table A Rules (Rule 191). Ponies in the class must go in to the jump-off and go clear to gain
their double clear round qualification. The winner of a particular Pony British Novice First Round competition will not
automatically qualify solely as a result of that competition.
• 80cm Open:
For registered ponies in Grade JA, JC, JD to be ridden by Junior Members
If combined with an open:

qualification for the Pony Restricted Rider 1.00m Championship. Riders who have accrued points on the Pony Gold
League are not eligible to compete in the Restricted Rider 1.00m Final.
Qualifies for: Four double clears will qualify for the Pony Restricted Rider 1.00m Championship to be held at the British

either the Open or the Foxhunter Section, who have not won more than a total of 350 Points in the previous calendar
year are eligible for double clear qualification for the Pony Restricted Rider 1.10m Championship. Riders who have
accrued points on the Pony Gold League are not eligible to compete in the Restricted Rider 1.10m Final.
Qualifying period: 1st May-30th April inclusive. Qualifies for: Four double clears will qualify for the Pony Restricted

qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of four years or under in the same calendar year as the British
Novice Final - in accordance with Rule 316.6
Qualifies for: Senior British Novice Championship - Second Round. Qualifying period yearly 1st May - 30th April
inclusive.
Numbers to qualify: Those horses which jump a clear round in the first round, followed by a clear round in the jump-off,
in at least four Senior British Novice First Round competitions held in any qualifying period will qualify to compete in
the Senior British Novice Second Rounds, irrespective of their placings
for prize money in those competitions, which will be determined by the normal Table A rules (Rule 191). Horses in the
class must go in to the jump-off and go clear to gain a double clear round qualification.
If combined with an open:
In Category 1 Shows and in the event of 30 starters or more the Open and the British Novice section will be split with

(a) For registered horses in Grade C that have not won a total of 375 points. Four double clears will qualify - in

(b) For all horses born on or after 1st January 2015, irrespective of Points. Horses will only be eligible for double clear
qualification to Second Rounds if they reach the age of six years or under in the same calendar year as the Newcomers
Final - in accordance with Rule 312.6.
Three double clears will qualify for the Senior Newcomers Second Rounds. Qualifying period: The Senior Newcomers
Second Round qualifying period for the 2021 second rounds is 1 May '20 – 30 April '31 (subject to revision).
If combined with an open: In the event of 30 or more starters the class will be split with two sets of prize money.
• 1.10m Open:
For registered horses ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members.
• All horse/rider combinations eligible for the 1.10m National Amateur First Round will receive dual qualification of
double clears, in either section of a Newcomer - first round/1.10m open competition. Held at Senior Category 1 shows
only.

Again, CCTV is in operation and any breakages not reported may result in further hire being refused and a penalty charge • CCTV is in place in the wagon park areas and will be monitored to ensure poo is picked and social distancing is taking place • Clients are responsible for ensuring they exercise their horses within their capabilities and fitness levels for them and their horse
EQUINE INFLUENZA Primary vaccinations with 12 month boosters. VACCINATIONS: Always carry your horse’s passport. PARKING: There is ample parking in the wagon park. Please use all space available and park away from other vehicles. Poo must. be picked in the car park. POO PICKING: Please collect any droppings your horse makes. There are wheelbarrows around the site. REC staff ONLY to empty the wheelbarrows.
