Rules and Conditions
● All horses must be vaccinated annually in accordance with BRC rules prior to January 2020 and that no injection to be
within 6 days prior to the event, horses can compete if they have the first two injections as long as no injection was given
in the 6 days prior to the event. Spot checks may be made, and the rules may change if circumstances change.
● For all test requirements please see the British Riding Clubs website at www.bhs.org.uk or British Dressage at
www.britishdressage.co.uk
● British Riding Club Rules 2020 will apply
● Any protest against a decision of the judges should be made in accordance with riding club rule G14 of 2018 rule book.
● Hard hat with fixed straps (Riding Club Rules 2020) to be worn at all times when mounted.
● No horse under the age of four may compete in Dressage and Ridden Showing classes.
● STALLIONS and COLTS must be shown in a suitable bit and bridle with a STALLION DISC. Stallions and colts must not be led
by juniors under the age of 18.
● No horses allowed who are not competing
● It shall be deemed a condition of entry that the organisers and landowner and their agents shall not be held responsible
for any loss, injury or damage to competitors, spectators, their property, servants or horses & ponies, howsoever caused
on the showground
● A First Aider will be present at the show. Medical facilities will be limited to standard NHS accident and emergency call
out. There will be a £2.00 fee per exhibitor.
● Please take all rubbish home with you and pick up droppings and hay from the car park
● The organisers reserve the right to retain a proportion of the entry fee for administration purposes in the event of
cancellation of the competition.
● All Competitors and/or owners must have their own insurance which includes suitable public liability.
● The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For
these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring
and must obey the instructions of the Organisers Officials and Stewards.
● Entry fees will not be returned unless a vet or doctors’ certificate is provided.

Please remember that event organisers and their teams are volunteers that give up their time for your enjoyment.
Guidelines for the current COVID-19 situation:
● Entries are limited to allow extra time for social distancing.
● You will be required to provide your details and anyone attending with you for the government
requirements regarding track and trace. This will be a separate form. I will email all entrants with
the form to return to the secretary at hrrc.jess@gmail.com
● A one-way system will be in place for going to warm up, going to the test arena and rings and
leaving the arena and returning to the lorry park.
● There will only be a maximum of 6 horses in the warmup at one time. This will be stewarded.
● Please can there be no gathering of pedestrians in the entrances to warm up, test arena and Show
ring
● Vaccinations – We kindly ask you that your horses’ vaccinations are up to date. There will be spot
checks
● Catering – There will be no catering at this event so please bring your own refreshments
● Results and sheets –Rosettes and sheets for the dressage will be left outside the secretary on a
table for collection. Results will be displayed by the table. If you would like them sent to you please
bring a self-stamped and addressed envelope. All Results will be added to My riding life and the
HRRC website (www.hrrc.club either that evening or the next day.
● Spectators – We ask that you only bring 1 or 2 people with you so we can keep the numbers down
at the venue to minimise overcrowded areas such as the arenas, parking, and secretary. Whilst on
site competitors and visitors are asked to maintain the 2metre rule.
● Managing hygiene - • Frequent cleaning with disinfectant, playing close attention to common
touchpoints like door handles, gates, counters etc. and any shared equipment, such as pens,
clipboards etc. • Hand washing facilities with soap and hand sanitiser available at all times
whenever possible for visitors/participants. Visitors and competitors are asked to be mindful not to
touch unnecessary things.
● These rules are in line with any government changes.
