Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for SSA rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and SSA Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed Member aged under 14 on 1st January of the current year. A rosette in memory of The Late Mr R Philpot is offered to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out. Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard or above.

Open to horses and ponies 4 years old and over: confirmation and manners will be taken into consideration. Horses/ponies will not be stripped for confirmation. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed Registered Adult and Junior Members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard or above. The highest placed coloured exhibit (who has not already qualified) receives a Special Rosette and qualifies for the Side Saddle Final at CHAPS Championship Show. Open to any type of exhibit. Riders must be 16 or over. Owners need not be a member or their exhibit registered with CHAPS at the time of qualification, but in order to compete at the Championships, the Rider/Owner must be a showing member and their horse/pony registered with CHAPS before entering the final.

The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony and rider, and the way of going of the horse or pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider’s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not permitted. Competitors will be required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the judge may ask small groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. May be ridden side saddle or astride. A rosette is offered to the highest placed SSA Adult and Junior Members, riding side saddle, carrying their current Championship Points Cards Competitors should produce a brief résumé about their costumes for the Commentator. Juniors must wear hats to current Safety Standard or above for this class. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk.

Lamps need not be carried. Judging will include general cleanliness, safety of turnout, correct fitting of harness and vehicle suitability. Open to any horse/pony combination. This competition involves a maximum of five rounds. The opening round will be followed by up to four jump offs which are not against the clock. The first round consists of four single obstacles including the triple bar. The starting height will be 2’6”. The jump off will consist of only two obstacles – a spread fence and the triple bar and will increase in height each round. The winner will be the horse/pony combination to ‘Clear’ both fences. In the event of equality after the fifth round, riders share first prize.

This Show is affiliated to the Orsett Horticultural & Agricultural Show, with the championship final taking place at the Orsett Showground on the 5th September 2020. The three highest placed exhibits not already qualified in each class will qualify. If 1st 2nd and 3rd have qualified then qualification, passes down to no lower than 5th place. No membership fee is required. Qualifying cards to be collected from the show where qualified. A qualifying card for each class being entered for the final, must be sent with the entry fee to the Orsett Show before the closing date 22nd August 2020.

BSPA ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW QUALIFIERS 2021
These classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are qualifiers for the Royal International Horse Show, Hickstead July 2021. Classes will be judged under BSPA rules. Download from www.bspaonline.com all horses/ponies must be registered and all owners and riders BSPA members prior to the show. Rider age taken from 1st January. Membership and qualification cards must be carried in the ring by competitors and produced as required for inspection or signature. Failure to do so will mean disqualification. Spurs may not be worn in any pony class. Ponies 153cm or under (Shetlands exempt) must posses a current JMB height certificate.

Competitors qualifying at this show for The Royal International Horse Show July 2021 must submit their entries by recorded delivery posy with full payment within 48 hours of qualifying to the Showing Secretary at http:/www.hickstead.co.uk/entries-and-results/the-longgines-royal-international-horse-show/ All stallions must be graded and licensed by BSPA for 2020 and have a BSPA stallion card and wear BSPA stallion ID Disc. No rider under 14 may exhibit a stallion in any class.

No competitor/owner/horse may compete in this class or enter the ring without current 2020 membership of BSPA and a RIHS qualification card. Memberships/horse registration must be in place before you enter classes. Qualification: 1st place and the next unqualified competitor standing 2nd or 3rd qualify from each class. The highest placed amateur and highest placed junior in each class qualify for Amateur and Junior Supreme Championship Finals to be held at BSPA World of Colour Championship Show September 2020 at the College EC., Keysoe, Bedfordshire. Cards to be shown and qualification card signed. All Champion and Reserve winners qualify for BSPA Star Championship at WWC.

All horses/ponies must be registered with BSPA all owners/riders members of BSPA prior to entry and membership + qualification cards must be carried into the ring and signed at the same time of qualification in the ring by the Judge. Failure to comply with this rule will mean disqualification.

HACKNEY HORSE SOCIETY
Classes 11, 13, 15 & 17 are affiliated to the Hackney Horse Society. All horses/ponies must be registered in the studbook of the UK Hackney Horse Society or of a recognised Hackney Society Abroad and all exhibitors must be members of the Hackney Horse Society. Minimum age of driver is open and novice classes will be 14 years at date of show. Please note Ruling for Novice Hackneys: To be eligible for a novice class the exhibit may not have been a Novice Champion at an Annual Breeds Show or Novice Hackney Horse or Pony of the Year. An animal can only be a Novice for three seasons from the start of their first show (Not consecutive seasons)

THE SHIRE HORSE SOCIETY
The Shire Horse Society is pleased to award to any Affiliated Society, a Spoon and Rosette for the Best Mare or Filly and a Spoon and Rosette for the Best Stallion at their Annual Show. Conditions of the Award are as follows: - (These conditions must be printed in the Schedule unless covered by the Society’s own General Conditions or reference should be made to these, i.e. indicate that the offer of Spoons and Rosettes is subject to the Shire Horse Society Special Conditions of Offer). 1. A Spoon and a Rosette for the Best Mare or Filly and a Spoon and Rosette for the Best Stallion (providing there is a separate class (es) for Stallions) exhibited in the Shire classes. 2. The winner of the Special Prize must be a member of the Shire Horse Society. 3. Entries cannot be accepted at Affiliated Shows in classes for Shires or Heavy Horses from any person who has been either suspended or removed from membership of the Shire Horse Society, or has been excluded from exhibiting for prizes at Shows, Sales or Exhibitions, or from taking part in any Show organised by the Shire Horse Society. 4. No animal to be eligible to take more than one Silver Spoon during any one year. The Shire Horse Society Spring Show being excepted. 5. THE WINNING ANIMAL MUST BE REGISTERED OR ELIGIBLE FOR REGISTRATION IN THE STUD BOOK OR GRADE B REGISTER. 6. The Judge invited to officiate must be on the Society’s Official Panel and has the right to withhold the award of the Silver Spoon and Rosette if an exhibit does not show sufficient merit. 7. The Council reserves the right in offering Spoons, to award them only to persons approved by the Shire Horse Society

SUFFOLK HORSE SOCIETY
This show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and class 64 is a qualifier for championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme SUFFOLK championship. All entries for the In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. A: entries must state their SHS registration number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. Both the sire and dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All stallions must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class maybe allowed in classes where licence is pending but not yet issued.

THE BRITISH DRIVING SOCIETY
Classes 10, 16, 20 & 21 are affiliated to The British Driving Society. BDS Champion, Reserve and Best Young driver rosettes to be presented. Please see the BDS website.

THE SIDE SADDLE ASSOCIATION

WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF FARRIERS
A competition sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Farriers, for the Best Shod horse/pony in the: Heavy Horse Section Class(s) 60 – 64 The judge will examine each horse/pony before or during the line-up for preliminary judging, taking into consideration: (a) The condition of the feet (b) The making (or preparation) and fitting of the shoes (c) The nailing and position of clips Normal shoes and showing plates are equally acceptable, provided they are suitable for the horse/pony. The Worshipful Company of Farriers will award: •a Rosette and an Inscribed Card to the winner in each Class •a Plaque to the overall winner •a Plaque for the Registered Farrier responsible for its feet and shoeing. EQUIFEST
This Show is affiliated to the Equifest Showing Show, taking place at the East of England Showground on the 19th August – 23rd August 2021. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify.

TSR NAF Five Star Showing Finals
This show is a qualifier for the 2021 TSR NAF Five Star Showing Finals. Qualify and enter ANY of the Finals Central, East Anglia, North West, North East, South East, South, Wales & South West or Scottish. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals! TSR NAF Five Star Riders Finals - 1st & 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification flyer in the ring. TSR NAF Five Star In Hand Finals - The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand sheet will qualify in any In Hand class. BRITISH MINIATURE HORE SOCIETY
Open to all miniature horses, including BMHS registered horses. Owners/handlers need not be members of the society. BROKEN COLOUR SOLID COLOUR SPOTTED NOVICE (either any age or split into Youngstock 1/2 yr old and 3yr & over, also open to registered and un-registered horses, owners/handlers do not need to be members)

Terms & Conditions
1 The decision of the Judges shall be final. Objections of any kind must be made in writing and delivered to the Secretary making it clear that it is an objection which is being handed in. A deposit of £20 shall be paid with each objection which must be made within half an hour of the Judge’s decision being given on the day of the show; in the case of a joint objection a deposit shall be paid by each objector. Such objection will be considered by a panel of not less than three members of the Society appointed by the Chairman or Vice Chairman and their decision shall be final. Anonymity will not be available to any objector. The deposit may be forfeited at the discretion of the panel 2 The Society’s general by-laws and general regulations apply to all Entries, Exhibitors and persons attending the Show. 3 Exhibitors will comply with any directions or instructions given to them by the Society its Officers or Stewards, which the Society deems to be expedient. 4 Any animal considered by the Judge/Steward on the advice of the Veterinary Surgeons to be suffering from disease or lameness to be immediately removed from the class. 5 Hard hats to current Safety Standard or above must be worn at all times on the Showground whilst mounted. It is recommended that junior handlers wear such hard hats when exhibiting 6 No equine animal is allowed to be on the Showground unless entered in a class. 7 Every exhibitor making entries for the show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by these Rules and it is on this understanding only those entries are accepted. All entries must be made in writing or on-line to the Secretary before the date specified in the Schedule, on the requisite forms, accompanied by the necessary entry fees. Any payment that has to be represented to the bank for whatever reason will be subjected to a £15.00 administration fee for each occasion and must be paid by the exhibitor before he/she is allowed to compete. Nomination entries will not be accepted. 8 The Council reserves to right to refuse any entry. 9 If for any reason the Horse Classes or the Show as a whole has to be cancelled ONLY half the entry fee will be refunded. In no other case will entries be returned. 10 In the event that a class or classes are cancelled by the Society (whether or not the Show takes place) then the only compensation due to an exhibitor will be a refund of the entry fee(s) paid by the exhibitor in respect of the class or classes that have been cancelled. 11 Except where this Schedule specifically provides otherwise for a particular class the following provisions will take effect. If there are 1-3 entries in each class then 1st prize money will be paid, 4-6 entries then 2nd prize money, 7+ entries then 3rd prize money. 12 Competitions qualifying for events organised by other bodies are offered in good faith on information provided by those bodies. No liability is accepted by this Society if those events take place in circumstances other than those originally stated or do not proceed. 13 Exhibits in all classes must be the bona fide property of the exhibitors and all exhibits must have been the property of, and in the possession of, the exhibitors at the time of entry. Any person who has care and control of an exhibit on the Showground will be deemed to be the Agent of that exhibit’s owner for all purposes connected with that exhibit. 14 The entry fee for any animal entered and not exhibited will be forfeited. 15 In the event of a Judge or Judges failing to attend on Show Day, the Secretary of Chief Steward may appoint a Deputy or Deputies. 16 In any Class or Section which is affiliated to a Governing Body it shall be a condition of entry that exhibitors, whether or not members of that Body, shall comply with its Rules and will be liable to dope testing. 17 Exhibitors may be required to allow Probationary Judges to ride their horses as the Society is anxious to improve the Panels. 18 Every effort will be made to avoid classes clashing but should this happen for any reason; exhibitors must choose which class they want to compete in. No entry fees will be refunded. The Society will not be responsible for any loss where an exhibitor has made entries in more than one class and because of a time overrun it is not possible for him/her or the horse/pony to compete in one or more later classes. No claim for refund of fees paid or other loss, direct, indirect or consequential will be accepted or paid. 19 The Show Organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be affective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey the instructions of the Organisers and all the Officials and Stewards 20 Irrespective of name, all trophies are offered on the basis that they are PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHIES . It is the responsibility of winners of trophies to ensure that they are returned in a clean condition, fit for presentation to the next holder – the Society will look to the holder for the cost of professional cleaning when this is not done. It is the responsibility of the holder to arrange for the return of trophies to the Trophy Secretary by the due date. 21 Access to the collecting ring will only be possible when wearing a wristband. All stewards/Marshalls have been instructed to strictly enforce this rule with NO exceptions. For Health and Safety reasons no buggy or pushchair will be allowed in the collecting rings. 22 No behaviour of an offensive, abusive or unpleasant manner to any person at The Orsett Show will be tolerated. Any act of discourtesy to any Judge, Steward or any Show Official on the part of the competitor groom rider, driver or agent of an animal, will, at the discretion of such Official disqualify that animal from being judged, in which case entry fees, prizes and charges will be forfeited. Exhibitors are reminded of their responsibility for the actions of others within their party. 23 No person shall ill-treat animals at any time whether by misuse/excessive use of a whip, bit or any item of saddlery or in any way whatsoever. 24 The Orsett Show Committee retains as its absolute discretion the right to decline or exclude or remove any person or animal from the show or future shows or return any entry fee without being required to assign reason or being liable for any compensation. 25 Failure to observe any of the rules may result in disqualification of the animal concerned. When jumping in the Ring, the practice or collecting areas, all Riders must wear protective headgear, according to the current standards as listed below: All PAS 015; VG1; (BS)EN1384 2017; ASTM F1163 04a onwards; SNELL E2001; SNELL E2016; AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards; Skullcaps must be of, or worn with, a dark coloured plain peaked cover. Refer to your Society/Association Rule Book for further clarification. Correctly secured Skull Caps/Riding Hats that meet one of the following current Safety Standards/specifications MUST be worn by all Riders between the ages of 15 to 17 inclusive. All PAS 015; VG1; (BS) EN1384 2017; ASTM F1163 04a onwards; SNELL E2001; SNELL E2016; AS/NZS 3838 2003 onwards. 26 DATA PROTECTION - GDPR All data given upon entry into classes with the Orsett Horticultural & Agricultural Society may be provided to Breed Societies etc. for the checking of eligibility and publication of results. By making an entry to a class with Orsett Horticultural & Agricultural Society you are providing consent for the storage and disclosure of information in this way

NB. PASSES: 2 Passes for each horse. 1 Horsebox/trailer pass. Heavy Horse turnout and Private Driving classes 3 passes per horse. No Vehicle without a pass will be allowed into the horse lines.

Any additional passes must be purchased prior to the Show. All prize money to be paid on submission of a prize voucher on the day of the Show. No prize money will be paid after the Show day.
