Winter Series Debut Qualifier ELIGIBILITY – Open to individual Pony Club members, but excluding any combination of horse/pony and rider that have represented their Branch/Centre at Intermediate or above at Summer Area Qualifiers for The PC SJ Championships or any rider who has competed at the Winter Series Open Grand Prix Championships or The PC SJ Final at Hickstead. Combination of horse and rider are not eligible if they have ever been placed 1st-3rd AS AN INDIVIDUAL in the NOVICE or above Pony Club Show Jumping Championships. Riders cannot compete in the Open Grand Prix Area competition if they have ridden in the Area Debut Competition in the same year.

Important Information

Classes 1, 2, 3,4 & 7 - To be in accordance with the PC Show Jumping 2020 Rule Book and will be Two Phase. Two Phase - competitors who are clear in first section of the course will continue uninterrupted around the timed second section of the course. Anyone with jumping faults or exceeding the time allowed in the first section will be halted by the bell. Entries for these classes are limited and will close when full.

Classes 5 & 6 - To be run in accordance with the PC Show Jumping 2020 Rule Book and the Winter Series 2019/2020 Rule book and will be Single Phase. Competitors/Parents are responsible for checking that both the rider & their horses are eligible to compete in these classes. Classes 5 & 6, those placed 1st-4th will qualify for the Area Second Round Qualifier on 22 March 2020 at BCA. If you are unable to take part in the Area Qualifier, please let the organisers know immediately so the qualification can be passed down. Note all those who qualify must be fully paid up Pony Club Members to compete in the Area competition.

Rosettes 1st – 6th place in all classes.

Special Classes
2nd Round Area 13 Qualifier will be on 22 March 2020 at BCA. If you are a member of any other area, you must compete at your own Area Qualifier to proceed. Winter Series Championships will be held on 4-5 April 2020 at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre.

Terms & Conditions
Entries are accepted and admission granted only subject to the following conditions, which are deemed to have been accepted by each competitor. 1. Neither Wokingham Branch of the PC nor Merrist Wood nor any judge or any steward, officer or servant shall be liable for anything that may happen from any cause or circumstances whosoever to any person, animal, article or property. 2. It is a condition of entry that each competitor shall indemnify the above mentioned against such matters aforesaid. 3. A copy of the Pony Club Show jumping 2020 Rules & the Winter Series will be with the secretary. For further info on the Winter Series Show Jumping Series including eligibility please go to: https://pcuk.org/media/jlab41bl/winter-series-2019-rules-v2.pdf 4. The judge’s decision is final. Any objection must be made to the secretary with a deposit of £15 not later than 20 minutes after the incident. 5. The organisers have taken every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid or prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and officials and stewards. 6. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without stating a reason for doing so and also reserve the right to eliminate any competitor who in their opinion places her/himself or others in danger or fails to observe rules. 7. Entry fees will only be refunded on production of a vet or doctor’s certificate presented in advance of the competition. 8. Horses or ponies must be 4 years or over on the day of the show. 9. No Horses/ponies may be ridden other than by the competitor on the day of the competition. 10. If any horse has been in contact with any infectious disease it should not attend the show. PLEASE BRING YOUR PASSPORT TO COLLECT YOUR NUMBER. ENSURE YOUR HORSE OR PONY’S VACINATION IS IN DATE. 11. The Pony Club Saddlery and Dress rules will be strictly enforced. 12. All dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. 13. No horses/ponies to be left unattended when tied to the lorry/trailer and all droppings to be picked up and taken home. 14. In the event of cancellation notification will be posted on the Wokingham PC website. Monies will be refunded less £7.50 per entry administration fee.
