1. The judges’ decision is final.
2. Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Organisers, or anyone for whom
they are in law responsible, neither the Event Organiser or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee
or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident,
loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories,
or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence breach of
contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
3. It is a condition of entry that competitors are either a member of the Pony Club, a BHS affiliated
Riding Club or other equestrian organization providing them with public liability insurance, or that
their horse has public liability insurance cover.
4. The organisers reserve the right to alter the timing of the phases. They also reserve the right to refuse
any entry without giving a reason and to divide or alter classes as necessary.
5. This event is run under Pony Club Eventing Rules 2019
6. No horse or pony under 4 years of age may be ridden.
7. Correct dress must be worn at all times. Riding hats, with chinstrap fastened, must be worn when
mounted. They must conform to a standard under Pony Club regulations:
PAS 015: 1998 or 2011 with BSI Kitemark AS/NZS 3838 2006 onwards, or SNELL E2001with label
and number.
Note: Standard BS(EN) 1384 has been withdrawn.
PC members’ hats must be tagged.
Long sleeves and body protectors are compulsory for the cross-country phase. In
the interests of safety, the organisers reserve the right to eliminate any competitor who breaches these
rules.
8. There will be no refund of entry unless a Doctor’s or Vet’s certificate is produced. If the event is
cancelled, £3 from the entry fee will be retained for administrative expenses and the balance will be
refunded only on receipt of an s.a.e. within 10 days of the event. Entries will be strictly limited in
each class.
9. Objections, if any, can be lodged only by a competitor or by a competitor’s parent or guardian. The
objection must be in writing and accompanied by a deposit of £20 within half-an-hour of the occurrence
which gave rise to it or, where the eligibility of a competitor is concerned, not after the finish of
the class. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is over-ruled.
10. NO DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT WIVELSDEN FARM.
11. The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.
For these precautions to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable care to avoid accidents occurring
and must obey the instructions of the organisers, officials and stewards.
12. No outside assistance is allowed at any time.
13. Any competitor having three refusals at a cross-country fence may continue but must give way to
other competitors. Riders must also give way when being overtaken.
