All Show Jumping Classes are strictly for local competitors who live within a 15 mile radius of the showground.
COMPETITORS PLEASE NOTE - The organisers will do their best to enable competitors to take part in the classes which they wish to enter. However, the responsibility lies with you, the competitor to decide when making your entries, whether or not classes are likely to clash. Until the entries close
and the organisers are aware of the number of entries in each class, it is impossible to say how long each class is going to take to judge and therefore give an exact time for the start of each class. Would you kindly bear this in mind when making your entries.
New for 2019 – Most sections will have a championship, leading ultimately to 4 championship classes; In hand Pony, In hand Horse, Ridden Pony and Ridden Horse. Prizes of £50 to Champion and £25 to Reserve in each class.
These 4 champions will be invited to join the Grand Parade, where the overall Supreme Equine Champion will be chosen by the Show’s President and receive a prize of £200.
FULL RULES OF THE SHOW CAN BE FOUND ON THE SHOW WEBSITE OR CAN BE SUPPLIED ON SHOW DAY ON REQUEST BUT SOME IMPORTANT CONDITIONS OF ENTRY ARE THAT ALL COMPETITORS/EXHIBITORS AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Passports must be carried when travelling to and from the show and must be available for verification of age and identification of an animal by a judge or other official if requested. Failure to comply will result in immediate disqualification from all classes entered and forfeit of any entry fees paid or prizes awarded.
2. Where the height of a horse or pony is specified in any class, the judge, steward or other official may require such an animal to be measured unless the animal has a current official measurement certificate issued by the Joint Measurement Scheme.
3. The parent or guardian must, if required, produce to the Secretary, a certified copy of the entry of birth of any child competing in the children’s classes within seven days of the show.
4. The committee reserve the right to amalgamate, divide or cancel any classes and refuse entry to, or remove from any class any person(s);
(a) that behave in an irresponsible or offensive manner or
(b) whose horse/pony they consider unfit to compete.
5. Hard hats to the current British Standard MUST be worn at all times, with chinstraps fastened when mounted, anywhere on the showground, and either jodhpur boots or long riding boots.
6. All ridden horses/ponies must be four years old or over.
7. In all matters of dispute THE JUDGE’S DECISION IS FINAL.
8. Objections may be lodged with the show secretary in writing up to 15 minutes after the completion of a class and must be accompanied with a deposit of £100 which will be returned if the complaint is upheld.
9. The exercising of horses/ponies will only be allowed in designated areas;
(a) collecting rings which are specifically for this purpose
(b) the box park - in clear and open areas only - IF IT IS DEEMED SAFE TO DO SO.
10. All exhibitors and competitors must be covered by a Public Liability Policy including show use. The Society reserves the right to require any exhibitor to produce proof that a suitable Policy is in force.
To ensure that all classes can be completed in time for the Championships to be held, class sizes will be limited.
Therefore to avoid disappointment, please get your entries in on time.
