The winner of this class will receive the title of the British Showjumping National Champion for a twelve month period. National Rules. Open to registered horses to be ridden by Adult, Associate or Junior Members. The winner of this class will be crowned the British Showjumping National Champion and will be presented with the British Showjumping National Championship Trophy. This is the final leg of the HOYS Wild Card series and the final leg of the International Stairway Points League. The winner of the International Stairway League will be the highest placed horse/rider combination, taking into account Stairway points awarded from the result of this final competition. In the event of equality of league points, the highest placed competitor on equal points in this final competition will be the winner of the league. To be crowned the winner of the International Stairway League combinations must have started in this final leg. For International Stairway League Points allocation, please refer to Schedule. Presentation: The horse should maintain an even, well-balanced canter throughout the whole course. It should not be interrupted when approaching the fences, the rider being able to control each stride. The following will be observed: an even speed, responsiveness to the rider, flexibility. Jumping Technique: The horse should not pull, but be easy to ride and careful. It should have a good style, it should bascule and should use the back well, with an effort that is appropriate to the height of the fence. The horse’s leg technique will also be taken into consideration. Points awarded for presentation and jumping technique will be added together and the horse with the highest score will win the class. In the event of equality there will be no jump-off. Arena Walk There will be an arena walk offered to all combinations entered into the National 4 year old final. Stabling Information: Yes
STABLES ARE BOOKED FROM 17.00 ON THE DAY OF ARRIVAL (15.00 on MONDAY 6th AUGUST) UNTIL 16.00 ON THE DAY OF DEPARTURE FROM MONDAY TO SUNDAY.
A deposit of £20 per stable is required, payable by cash to the Stable Managers on arrival. This will be refunded on departure following inspection by the Stable Managers to ensure the stable has been left mucked out, clean, tidy and in good repair.
Horses and ponies must be removed from their stables by this time, which must be strictly adhered to. Grandstand Media Ltd. reserves the right to charge the daily rate for that stable and/or additional fines imposed by Grandstand Media Ltd. to any person failing to remove their horse/pony from any stable by the designated time, it further reserves the right to deduct such charge from any prize money due and entries may be refused for future shows.
Vacated stables must be left in the state they are found. Any stables left in an unsatisfactory condition will incur a charge. Please note that no permanent stables are available.
PLEASE NOTE. ALL STABLES MUST BE VACATED BY: 20.00 SUNDAY 12TH AUGUST.
Stabling is available subject to capacity. Applications must be made online or using the appropriate paper form and fees paid in full. The final date for application is 23rd July 2018. Stables are sold on a first come, first served basis. If stallion stables are required, please indicate in the Stallion Box section on your application.

EQUINE INFLUENZA VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
While Equine Influenza Vaccine is not compulsory at the NAEC, all competitors in British Showjumping National classes must be in possession of a valid flu vaccination certificate under Rule 42.5. For Club competitors it is strongly advised that all horses and ponies have sufficient vaccine cover. Any horses or ponies showing signs of infectious disease may be asked to leave the showground.

1. ENTRIES
Owners of qualified horses must enter this competition and the completed entry form must be received by the Grandstand Media Ltd. Office by the official close of entries. Confirmation of qualification will be made by British Showjumping.
The following closing dates will be strictly adhered to and the organisers reserve the right to not accept entries received after the relevant closing date. Correct entry fees and stabling charges must be submitted at time of entry or the entry will not be processed.

2. DRAWN ORDERS
The order of jumping for classes will be drawn. The Start List will be available from the Show Secretaries Office and online at www.bsnationalchampionships.co.uk. Approximate start times of each showjumping class will be published the afternoon of the proceeding day.
I. Horses must jump in the order they appear on the start list unless special permission has been obtained from the Organisers.
II. During the competition, three competitors must always be ready to enter the arena. If a competitor does not respond when his/her "order number" is called, the competitor will lose his/her turn and the horse bearing the number called may be eliminated from the competition in progress.
III. Should entries in any jumping competition be excessive, in order that the timetable may be adhered to, the Organisers/Judges reserve the right to request that competitors leave the arena when they have been penalised by a number of faults which, in the opinion of the judges, gives the competitor no chance of being placed for any award.
IV. The Organisers themselves, with prior permission from the Chief Executive of British Showjumping, reserve the right to cancel or add to any of the conditions of this schedule or amend the conditions of any competition, dividing classes into sections, or cancelling sections, and to amend prize money as the necessity of the programme may require. Also to hold any competition in the morning or on any such occasion or time, or at any such place as they may deem necessary.
V. The first three prize winners in each competition may be asked to make themselves available to meet the Sponsors and/or the Press after the completion of their class.
VI. Competitors are authorised to carry the logo of their personal sponsor on the saddlecloth in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 102.9
VII. Rule 82.20 “No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to attend a show compete or be prepared to compete, in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other horses/ponies, competitors and members of the public are not put at risk of injury” Also refer to Rule 102.12.
VIII. Class times stated are for guidance only and the Organisers reserve the right to amend these at any time.
IX. If as a result of insufficient starters in the Preliminary rounds, no riders are eliminated from qualification for a Championship, they must have completed the course in at least one section of the relevant class in order to be eligible for the Championship.
X. In accordance with British Showjumping Rules, once a class has commenced substitution of rider or horse/pony is not permitted in subsequent sections of the class.
XI. Rule 76.6 will be applied to all British Showjumping classes.

3. PRIZE GIVING
Owners of winning horses or ponies are invited to attend the prize giving of Finals held in the Championship Arenas and Arena 3. Winning owners may accompany their horse or pony into the arena and therefore must be available in the collecting ring immediately at the end of the class if they wish to accompany their horse into the prize giving.

4. ARENAS
Championship Arena 1 and Porsche Centre Solihull Championship Arena 2 are an Andrews Bowen Prowax all weather surface, Arena 3 is a sports turf grass surface.
