Prize Information

Winners will be those with the least number of pena lty faults after the combined scores from the cross country and show jumping (exc luding time penalties) have been added. In a case of a tie then time penalties will be used and thereafter if there is a tie then the nearest (under) to the optimum ti me of the cross country course or timed section. (metres per minute per Class will be posted on the day) will be the winner. Prizes 1 st only kindly sponsored by MH Photos . Terms & Conditions

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR FAIR OAK COMBINED S/J & XCC.
The Judges and Secretary’s decision in all matters will be FINAL
1. This event will be run under BHS Riding Club Rules 2017 edition.
2. Save for death or personal injury caused by the neg ligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they a re in law responsible, neither the organisers, nor Fair Oak, nor any employee nor any person acting on their beh alf, accept any liability for any loss, damage, accident , injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spec tators or any other persons or cars and contents or property what soever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever.
3. The organisers and owners of Fair Oak have taken re asonable precautions to ensure the Health and Safety of everyone who uses the course. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take reasonable care t o avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey the rules and instructions from officials.
4. Hats - BSI Kite marked PAS 015 or VG1 or ASTM F1163 04a (onwards) or SNELL E2001 must be worn at all times when mounted, with the chinstrap fastened. Hats tagged SOLELY with BS EN 1384 are NO LONGER PERMITTED. PLEASE NOTE NO HATS WITH A NY TYPE OF PEAK WILL BE PERMITTED FOR XC. Back protectors Level 3 (Purple L abel) 2000 or 2008 must be worn on the Cross Country Course . Medical armbands must be worn for the cross coun try phase.
5. Entries: No entries will be accepted over the phone. Entry fee less £5 will only be refunded if withdrawal is notified to the secretary by 6pm Wednesday 17 th May and is supported by a veterinary certificate o r a doctors certificate within 7 days along with a SAE. In the event of cancellation of the competition prior to the day entry fees will be refunded less £5 on receipt of SAE within 14 days to cover expenses. Should the organ isers have to cancel the event on the day for whatever reason the n NO REFUND will be given. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel and / or amend any of the classes / sections as they feel fit and to refuse any entry without giving a reason. Entries will be done on a strictly first come basis and a waiting list will be held in the e vent of oversubscription to any section and any fees will b e returned if withdrawals do not occur. All horses must have a current flu vaccination certificate.
6. If eliminated during the Show Jumping, competitors may still enter the cross country phase, if elimina ted in the Cross Country, competitors may complete the course, but must make the way clear for any following hors e and the rider must obey any instructions or orders from officials. In the interests of safety if a second elimination takes place the rider must not carry on and must le ave the course at a walk.
7. Times : Competitors are responsible for checking their time s for this event. Times will be given for all class es and will be posted from 12pm on our website www.fair-oak.co.uk Friday 19 th May, or from 2 pm on Saturday 20 th May at the Secretaries tent for those walking the course. Please Note: Failure to report to the sta rter at the correct time, will risk elimination.
8. Wealden Medical Services will be on site to provide Pre-Hospital Trauma Care during this event if requ ired, all competitors confirm that they are fit to compete in this event and that they consent to any treatment which may be given, advised or offered by the trauma team.
9. A £2 returnable deposit is required for the numbers , please bring the correct change.
10. Any objections must be made to the Secretary in wri ting within 10 minutes of the scores of that sectio n being posted and must be accompanied by a cash deposit of £20 which will be returned if the objection is sus tained. Video Evidence will NOT be accepted in support of a n objection.
11. The course can be walked the day before the event b etween 2pm and 7pm. NO DOGS ALLOWED
12. Please do not muck out horse-boxes on site and plea se take all litter home with you.
DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EITHER ON THE EVENT DAY OR WHEN WALKING THE COURSE.
