NPS Supreme Dressage Championship Final 2023/204
To be held at Bury Farm May 2024. British Dressage Tests Prelim 12 & Novice 24 will be used for qualifiers. Each test will consist of the six sections all of which will have their own final.
SHOULD YOU WISH TO QUALIFY FOR THE FINAL, PLEASE STATE CLEARLY ON THE ENTRY FORM WHICH ‘SECTION’ YOU ARE WISHING TO ENTER.
Each class will consist of the following six sections all of which will have their own Final: -
A - Registered Mountain & Moorland breeds not exceeding 138cm.
B - Registered Mountain & Moorland breeds exceeding 138cm.
C - Registered British Riding Ponies.
D - Part Bred Horses/Ponies registered with their appropriate Native Breed Part Bred Stud Book – including
Part Bred Arab ponies over stamped in the British Riding Pony Stud book and ponies registered with the
British Sports Pony Stud Book. Please note Part Bred Native ponies and Sports ponies over stamped
within the British Riding Pony & Stud Book may only compete in one section per season.
E - Highest placed Mini rider aged under 12 years on 1st January 2023.
F - Highest placed Junior rider under 18 years on 1st January 2023.
Qualifying rounds are open to competitors from the UK and elsewhere. All qualifiers will receive a qualification card. The Final will run in accordance with the 2023/2024 NPS Dressage Rules which will be available to all NPS Members. Horse/ponies must be ridden at the Final by the qualifying rider. The owner or rider must be fully paid up Dressage, Qualifying or Life Members of the NPS for 2023/2024 in order to compete at the Final.

This Competition is open to mares and geldings four years old or over, registered in the main body of their respective Mountain and Moorland Stud Book.
To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bit, the leading rein to be attached to the noseband only. The reins must go directly from the bit to the rider’s hands.

NPS Winter Championship Qualifying Rounds: This show is affiliated to the National Pony Society and the NPS affiliated classes will be run under NPS rules. Classes are open to Members and Non-Members of the NPS, but Non-Members will need to become members to enter the finals at the NPS Spring Festival 2023. The NPS General Rules for Showing apply (see NPS website for details). In each class the three highest placed ponies, not already qualified, within the first six places, will qualify. Winnings in the 2022/2023 Novice and Pure Novice Winter Championships will not debar ponies from the NPS 2023 Mountain and Moorland Novice Ridden competitions.
1. All persons attending this show do so at their own risk. The Organisers and Landowners do not accept responsibility for any accident to persons, their animals, vehicles or property. Entries accepted and admission granted subject to these conditions. 2. The Organisers reserve the right to decline any entry without assigning a reason. The Organisers reserve the right to split or amalgamate classes as they see fit. 3. Competitors entering classes that may clash, do so at their own risk. No entry fees will be refunded. It is left to the discretion of the judge whether to allow persons arriving late at their ring to take part in the class. 4. Entries may be refunded (less the administration and the booking fee) on production of the appropriate, current veterinary or doctor’s certificate within two days of the show. 5. Any act of discourtesy or disobedience to any judge or official on the part of the Exhibitor, Groom or Rider of an animal, will at the discretion of such official, disqualify the animal from being judged, in which case entry fees and charges will be forfeited. 6. In the event of cancellation of the show, the entry fee will be refunded less an administration charge. 7. All competitors are strongly advised to ensure that they carry third party insurance cover. 8. Hard Hats up to current standard including PASO15:2011, ASTMFI1163:2004, Snell E2016 standard, properly fastened, are obligatory for all riders whilst mounted. 9. Children under the age of 18 MUST wear proper protective headgear which includes a permanently fitted non - detachable retaining harness secured to the shell at MORE THAN 2 points. The chinstrap MUST be correctly fastened. Failure to do so will result in dismissal from the show site & all the entry fees forfeited. 10. All drivers on the showground must obey instructions of the parking stewards and officials. 11. No unauthorised person or horses to enter any ring. 12. No horses/ponies are permitted to enter the pedestrian areas. 13. No cantering or galloping in the lorry park. 14. No whip sticks or canes to exceed 30ins in length. 15. All stallions MUST display a stallion bridle marker (NPS rule 2.8) 16. All horses and ponies ridden on the show ground must be 4 years old or over. 17. Strictly No Dogs permitted on the showground 18. Objections or protests must be made in writing with the objector’s full name and address with 20 minutes of the event concerned and lodged in the secretary’s tent together with £20. This sum will be refunded if the objection is sustained or forfeited if the objection is found to be frivolous or incorrect in any detail. 19. No mucking out of lorries or trailers. Please pick up all droppings, straw, hay & take rubbish home. 20. Equine Influenza vaccinations are a compulsory requirement for all horses/ponies competing in NPS affiliated classes. 21.
