Affiliated to The Showing Register Amateur of the Year Final, taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on 6th and 7th December 2025. The two highest exhibits not already qualified in each affiliated class will qualify. You do not need to be a member to enter or compete but you do need to become a member to enter the final. The Canwell Show committee cannot be held responsible for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, ponies, riders, owners, grooms, ground spectators or any other person or property whatsoever other than the liability for a refund of entry fee in the event of abandonment of the competition. The organisers of this event have taken all responsible precautions to ensure Health & Safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all responsible precautions to avoid accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all officials and stewards. 1 All persons on the showground must comply with the safety advice and directions given by officials 2 All riders when riding, whether competing or not, must wear hard hats that are up to UK/BRC/BHS current standards with a strap properly adjusted and fastened. Insurance will be void if standards are not met. 3 Appropriate protective clothing, including footwear must be worn by all persons on the showground when mounted or handling a horse. 4 Entries accepted at rider’s risk. 5 The organisers reserve the right to refuse an entry at their discretion, cancel, amend or amalgamate any class for any reason whatsoever. 6 The Judges decision is final. 7 Only riders entered to compete in the show may use the practice ring. 8 A fall of the rider will result in elimination from the class. Such dismounted riders should not remount whilst in the ring. 9 Competitors should be mounted on suitably sized ponies or horses. Should a judge or show official be concerned that a rider is under or overhorsed they will be requested to withdraw in the interests of safety or animal cruelty. 10 Stallion and Colts must be correctly bitted and handlers to be over 16 years of age. All ridden horse must be 4yrs old and over. 11 Any Objections or complaints must be made to the secretary in writing with a £20.00 Deposit within 30 minutes of the incident happening. 12 Dogs must be on a lead at all times. 13 All competitors are to have their own third party liability insurance. 14 All ridden animals must be at least 4 years old. The age to be calculated in accordance with the particular breed society's rules, or as calculated from the actual date of birth if it is shown in the passport. 15 Under new British Equestrian advice, the typical Equine Influenza vaccination primary course schedule is now: 1st Vaccination; 2nd vaccination 21-60 days after the 1st vaccination; 3rd vaccination 120-180 days after the 2ndvaccination, Booster within 6 months or one year depending on the rules of the governing body you wish to compete under.
